On Mangler, he had MOTM 5.

He was surprisingly very easy -- I did Garudon that same night and he was much harder.

Slow landed after a Malos. I was able to land poison, magic, fire, and disease without much trouble (didn't have cold to try).

We did approximately 322K damage to him. He did 63k damage to me (900 AC, half time, half elemental geared, 11.1k hp, 13% shielding, 33/100 avoidance). He has low AC -- my monk was utterly destroying him.

His highest hit was 735 on a tank with 13% shielding. With bard resists at 425+ for most characters in the group, his AE rarely landed. Healers were positioned at the fireplace to avoid the AE.

He *does* cast an unresistable 1600ish lifetap, but that's only near the end in his final form (10-15% or so).

Killed him today, blue con to my 69 ranger. I'm mainly in a mix of elaborate and intricate, having returned to EQ recently.

Got to his room no probs, I just dropped a bunch of huge trains on myself on the way down and relied on cleric and a damage shield + buffs from Guild Lobby,.

I could kill each Royal Guard in its niche without agroing any others and worked my way to him down the left. He agrod alone. I resisted his AEs, and he hit for 584 max, and rampaged. Fight took about 10 mins, but cleric merc was 95% mana at the end, no danger at any point.

For some reason he started the fight looking like an elf rogue, then looked like me before turning into a giant old model of a goblin, a blue skinned genie, a Velious siren model, and then a ghost sarnak. Something to do with the changelings?

He dropped haste neck and 1hs.

He was a raid target for our lvl 60 raid in the past.

He has several emotes during the fight as he changes forms:

The figure before you phases in and out of view, wisps of smoke encirling his body, as if these contortions are now controlling him.

The contortions become less violent, less frequent, and seemingly more important. It is as if you are watching the deconstruction of this entity, perhaps even various figures that he has impersonated in the past.

Korucust slowly phases in and out of view, taking on the image of a ghost.

Korucust's corpse falls to the ground at your feet. You are unsure if this being of immense power is really dead, or if this is yet another method of foul trickery. Korucust has been slain by ____!

He is definitely trackable from zone-in with 200 track.

His spawn time is roughly around 3.5 days.

He is not undead - even in the ghost form.

I tried him solo about a year or so ago. It was guick and painless. I tired him with a friend a little later, and we wiped also. Then about six months ago, i duo'd him with a friend, and he seemed easy. I had the idea to go back andd try him again at level 80, and dang, someone beat me to it. So gratz. And to those of you who don't like to hear about first reported solo's, well.....I guess I don't want to get banned. Someone said it was the life of the ranger to solo this world. And that is what I am working on.

We're all soooo proud of you...

Why do numb-nuts like this come and post how their
"uber toons" come and slaughter mobs way below
their power curve...

Kudos to you! Your alter-ego has been stroked for
the time being. Now go back to your ingame cyber chat channel

75 Cleric- 13.6/2700 AC self buffed.

Tried him once before when I was 70 and with some lesser gear, he was a little much for me then. Went back about a week ago with 5 more levels and few updrades and he was still a tough kill, but he did go down finally. Vow of Valor + Ward of Reprisal + Promised renewal and he was down fairly quick. Max hit was 690's, maybe some over 700, but didn't pay much attention, sometimes quad, Avergage hit probably around 400 to 500's but very very fast hitter.

Tried to solo him as a 70 monk ......... got him to 54% ish then had to feign ...... called in a bard buddy and smoked him .

Should be an easy solo for healing classes ........ pure melee class solo hes a real workout .

# Aug 29 2005 at 3:33 AM Rating: Good
Tried soloing him today with my main... 70 cleric bout 570 aa, 9k+ hp and 2200 ac... um.... yeah... boy was that a bad idea, hits hard and fast, quading for like 692 fairly often, 1600 pt lifetap, and that whole turning into me and beating my own *** thing, that was nice too... held my own for a few min, but when all was said and done, I was in the lobby and he was at 90%.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 18 2005 at 1:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You might seriously be the dumbest son of a ***** I've ever met in my life
RE: solo attempt
# Oct 22 2005 at 3:11 PM Rating: Decent
And why is he dumb? Clerics have soloed Vindi, and as of yet no paladin has (or has admitted to it though several have come close). I'm a paladin, and I have soloed Korucust, so I'm quite sure many clerics can.

Anyway, my first attempt on this guy I was bored after PLing a bit in chardokB, saw him up (I had cleared through castle to MQ that ring for the alt), gated my alt (never would have lived past rampage and is gimp dps), and figured "what the hell" after seeing the above cleric's post.

I was hoping to get him to 80% or lower, but instead, without kei, only self buffs, I got him to 2% before I finally died. So I went back later with clarity potions and waxed him. Fun fight, no use trying to slow with willsapper, which I did the first time (if I'd not done that I'd probably had won the first time, lose a ton of dps equipping that), just let him beat on me and let damage shields do some work.

With around 400ish buffed disease resist his DoT almost never hit me, second time I just popped infusion and it never landed.

I buff to around 15200 hp 3140 ac raid buffed with 45 avoidance 23 shielding if that's an indication about gear.

As he gets lower, gains a 1600hp lifetap. Seemed to be unresistable. It was hitting on 68 war with max resists (bard song). More than doubles his dps.

Relatively easy fight with myself (70 cleric), twink 11k hp 68 war, 70 monk, 68 ench, 68 bard and 70 wiz.

Dropped blade and boots.

trackable from?
# May 05 2004 at 8:35 AM Rating: Decent
Can he be tracked from zone-in by a druid? How about a ranger?
RE: trackable from?
# Jun 12 2004 at 2:14 PM Rating: Excellent
He doesn't show up on track -- you have to go to his room and confirm him visually. Not triggered - 3 day spawn. He is back in the castle in one of the deeper rooms - not sure of loc.
RE: trackable from?
# May 20 2004 at 5:28 AM Rating: Decent
you can track him when you see him... not one click earlier
RE: trackable from?
# May 24 2004 at 8:14 AM Rating: Default
What do you mean by that? You can't track him but you can only visually check him, or is he triggered somehow?
If so, where is he, or any trigger, located at approximately?
RE: trackable from?
# Oct 16 2004 at 8:38 PM Rating: Default
If he's up you can't track him. The only way you can tell if he's up if you actually walk in his room and see.

Or use bind/cast sight a.k.a. chanter track.

Could someone list if he pops after server reset on timer and what is his respawn time please?
Does he still drop the boots?
# Mar 25 2004 at 12:41 AM Rating: Decent
Anyone seen him drop the Brittlebone sandals since December? My guild has wracked up easily 10-15 kills and not a single pair of boots yet.
