A sentry dropped Kylong Shinguards for my group today. A nice item off of such a low level mob. Dropped in the hallway just before the underwater tunnel.

Something to help you get through these guys is a Cleric..... Invis Vs Undead. The toher thing is you have to be careful about rooting them. The will summon. Happenned to us when we went through and we trying for Soulscream Belt. Hope this helps.

RE: GO TO BED

Well, here goes

Sentries are charmable. They summon and are undead. As a necro I easily kill them since I use my undead slow and have goner pet tank them for me. They are low enough for DC charming about 80% of the time. Hits in the low hundred range. Can double.

Oh yea, resists. I use magic and fire without any problems. They seem to resist disease too much for my liking and I didn't try poison

I killed these starting in my mid fifties.

Max hit i've seen is 125, a little stronger then crusaders of comparable lvl, can be charmed. Use as my DC pet whenever i can get one. With mage kit and slow can solo almost everything up to the spell binders, after that with slow/nukes/cripple can take commanders which conned even to me at 60.

Well, haven't killed many, but here goes.

54th necro using 49th pet.

One slow resisted in 6 pulls (and it stuck the second cast).
Max hit on me was 129. Doubled at best, most hits were for around the 80 mark.
One slow stuck, easy to kill, needed two or three dots and pet tanked, with a couple of heals.
Woops

can't believe I didn't see this first time...
veksar has a population of bloodgill gobbys, right? and It used to be an iksar city? well...
after the whole city sunk down, mayhaps some of the goblins who where down at the bottom of the lake and the iksar from the population of the city crossbred to make these guys... waterbreathing, like their godlin heritage, but really cool looking like their iksar parents? :p anyways I thought it could have happened.

feel free to flame

Well, just go to the bestiary and look up in omen at the sarnaks. The ankle is set up with the same angle as this breed except it doesn't seem to have large toenails. The shoulders seem to sink down with a rather large backbone. This creature has a rather shorter backbone than a sarnak, but larger than a goblin, and it has a totally different type of skin. The faces of this and a sarnak are different, but both are a bit longer ( due to the dragon mix) so this could be a mix of a sarnak and iksar. The developers could have just gotten lazy and used a base model of a sarnak and just twinked with it. And I could be a total moron for putting as much work and time into such a dumb topic. :P

Sarnaks are half dragon, half iksar so these guys can't be half iksar half sarnak.

Consider the fact that these are undead. Reanimated. Most reanimations I have encountered are either the undead version of a previously living being (Human, elven, dwarven skeletons, zombies, tottering gorillas, etc.), while some others have been new races created through necromancy, much like a human becoming a lich or various body parts becoming one of Miragul's creations. This truly seems to be a necromantically advanced version of a Sarnak, with a toughened hide and twisted figure like the dead magics tend to do to a being.
hm...

If they made this species a new race somehow (don't know how.... maybe storm cabilis or FV? maybe have the ruins of veksar be linked to another zone that would be more appropriot for newbs, like the upper guk and lower guks of kunark? *shrug*)
I would DEFFINETLY play one. kudos on the graphics.... :)
RE: WTF???
# Jun 15 2003 at 12:38 PM Rating: Decent
Maybe it's a sarnak/goblin crossbreed or a iksar/goblin crossbreed?

Not sure if the lvl on this mob is correct. I am a 61 druid and this guy saw thru invis and jumped me. Almost had him, but the reason I suspect the lvl is wrong is that this guy summons! I was under the impression 50 and above could summon. Am I mistaken?
RE: New Species
# Jun 24 2003 at 6:10 AM Rating: Decent
They saw through invis because they are undead (undead based spells hit them), they do not however see through ivu...though the goblins and golems see through ivu but don't see through normal invis
As far as summoning, many lev 51+ can summon, but not all can, and yes there are several mobs under 51 that can summon too, including a lev 4 (named) scorpion in the pit in Shar Vahl I believe
Interesting thing to note is that all the nameds tend to be on Iksar undead models (skele, ghost, that whilwind thing for the big nameds like the Sathir's) so it's possible that these were a servant race to the inhabitants of Veksar, or it could simply be the result of all the necromantic energy Veksar is full of

the Great Saprophyte in Echo summons and is way under 50 and way undercon.
Supposedly a 15ish named rockhopper in HSM or Shadeweaver that summons too.

These aren't iksar, sarnak, or goblins. These are a new race of aquatic reptilian creatures that moved into the ruins long after it sank into the lake. I shall call them... DINOLFOS! :P

sarnak

It kinda looks like it has the exterior anatomy of a sarnak. The goblins always have different breeds, so this might just be a differ breed.
