There is one brownie in Rivervale, Nilipuss or something, who spawns rarely. And from what I hear, he pretty much never drops his "parts". Other than him, Rivervale has no brownie spawns.

That is bunk. I have killed Nilipuss about 30 times and get parts 90% of the time. He also drops Jum Jum roots. What's nice is that when he spawns he shouts throughout the zone so if you know where he spawns you can run there and kill him easily.. Which by the way is across the bridge and in the middle of the houses found back to the left a ways.
parts may be sold

I'm not sure yet, simply because it's late and I'm tired, but this guy: Nesin Tapper (inside the Chops & Hops store in East Freeport)
may sell brownie meat or parts or whatever, that'd be much easier than going into lfay or finding the uncommon spawns in gfay

I'm just a pesky lvl 4 Ranger. I was walking around lesser faydark just minding my own business. then bam. a brownie nails me for over half my hp. by the time i locate the scout and land one hit i'm dead. i was buffed and had decent stuff. the scouts in LF are WAY harder than those in GF.

ps. what else 'sides 4 pixie dust, do i need for that quest?

The brownies in Lfay are not the same as the brownies in Gfay... Lfay brownies can prolly kick anyones *** under 45, Gfay brownies con blue to a lvl 3 and are real wusses.
yeah my ass level 5 for a scout!

I ran into a brownie scout and it was doing 90 hp damage to me when i was level 12 druid ..the max scout level has to be completely wrong.

I believe you were in Lesser Faydark. Those nasty little buggers hit for 90 damage with their spell and come out of no where. On another note, where are these scouts in Greater Faydark? I have never seen them or seen them on a track screen. Thanks in advance.

Just killed a brownie scout with my twinked lvl 5 ranger. Was walking to BB using the "shortcut" when a green brownie came up on track. I'm like Holy Crap, a green brownie! Well, anywho, I killed it in about 2 hits (20 and 14) and he nuked me once for 5 lol. These guys are wusses in Gfay, and faction hits were just against brownie. To answer your question, yes they do spawn in gfay, but only rarely, cause that's the first one I saw. hehe

You need to pay attention to what zone you're in. Read the posts by Dedawen on this thread. This guy ONLY casts Burst of Flame and it never, EVER does 90 points damage. As a druid I outgrew my BoF within a couple levels of getting it since it max damage at like 15 pts.

You must have gotten hit in LESSER Faydark, not GREATER Faydark. There are 2 different Brownie Scouts, the one in GFay is very low level, but RARE. The Brownie Scouts in LFay are like level 30-ish, and very powerful with Druid spells. The one in LFay is also very common, I have seen them every time I run on the path in LFay, and they are RED RED RED to my level 17 druid, (keep that camouflage up!).

Aggro little buggers
# Jan 10 2001 at 2:50 PM Rating: Default
My first character was a high elf wizard and at least three of four times coming back from the BB zone my first indication that one was around was when the critter's shock of flame spell impacted. Never did see it. We just traded spells back and forth. Anyway, they would always whack me as I ran through those monolith things on the path between Felwithe and BB. I suspect that they are REALLY aggressive or are linked somehow to the Pixie faction as well. Actually, I think Pixie, Brownie, and Faerie are all somewhat related. I had to retire that character because the faerie guards kept blasting me for no reason too...

# Mar 31 2001 at 3:36 PM Rating: Decent
I think your right, when I just started I killed lots of Pixie Tricksters, and at later lvls I almost never touched a fairy. But now, they are aprehensive to me! Also, newbies beware, Lesser Faydark is a death zone. Only players lvl 45+ can get through safely, and if you need to get to Steamfont, keep to the wall moving left from the entrance, they normally don't go that far to the edge. And whatever you do, DON'T GO ON THE PATHS! Thats where they always peg you, if you need to do it, try to use some way to keep yourself invisible. You never see them coming, they just blast you with one spell and once again you get a birds eye view of your rigid body... Be careful in this zone.

Being invisible will not help you on the paths through LFay. Brownies are Druids, and Druids can see invisible (when they cast it on themselves).

I think the levels may be wrong, I've only seen one of these by BB and it conned green and threatening to a Lvl 6 HE mage, and some people have said they go as high as 5. I didn't stick around to kill it because it's no longer worth it to kill the lvl 2 newbie monsters and I figured these wouldn't drop anything nice. It didn't aggro on me though.

There are still a few in GFay. However they seem to be a very rare spawn. Please note the difference between "A Brownie Scout" in GFay and "Brownie Scout" in LFay.

# Jan 06 2001 at 6:53 AM Rating: Default
The scouts are not rare, just in a rare traveled part of Gfay. They walk near the wall between Fallen Trees near crushbone and past the BB zone. Not rare at all. Nobody seems to hunt out there so thats why they are not seen much. Lost travelers find them easily.

I disagree, friend. As a 32nd Season Druid Master Baker I have been hunting these lil guys for their "parts" for chocolate. However, in any given day (now this is a RL day, not a game day) I usually only find 3 on track. No more. And quite frequently less. Before guild mates come on that I group with to hunt I will port myself to BB and head over to GFay to wander this very area, trying to Track these lil buggers. I'm wondering if they have place holders. To make a long post short (too late!), once I kill the three that show up, I might as well give up. They don't come back for a long long time.

There are two monsters of similar names, and in this thread there seems to be a confusion. This little guy is "A Brownie Scout" and is very weak, however he's also very rare. I was able to find him only twice, and both times was aroud 9 AM in the mornng game time. The second creature is just "Brownie Scout" and is in Lesser Faydark. He is the wicked one. For a similar creature comparison see "A Orc Warrior" and "An Orc Warrior" in Oasis of Marr. Two different monsters with almost identical names....

I have to doubt the level range given on these guys. When I was 5th level, I was attacked by one of these guys that conned white to me. It nearly beat the snot out of me.

Actually, I am level 14, and there is NO way that brownie scouts can be level 3! LOL Thoes MF's cast a dd spell that will do about 200 points of damage.(i have 250) And this little level 3 guy has a dot that does well over my hp number, AND TO ADD TO THE PUZZLE they hit for 72. Now tell me that guy it level 3.

The Gfay brownie scouts are old and were the first thing in beta. To deadly for newbies 5 and down because of casting. So the brownies now walk need the wall from the fallen trees past the BB zone. These are the little fuzzy ones you make cake out of their parts. Brownie scouts in Lfay were added a few months ago. VERY deadly. The Lfay scouts are 45. Not nice.

I've seen two of these little buggers. The first was neatly impaled on my dagger in one blow (Female), but the second (Male) survived long enough to scorch at me and run away.

They generally stay off-trail southwest of Kelethin. They drop brownie meat as loot, useful for bakers who want to make white chocolate and birthday cakes but can't tackle the vicious LFay brownies.

You can find them mostly between the BB zone and the CB zone, along the BB wall. They are very very small, half again as big as the ones in LFay. I've been running back and forth from BB to CB for hours at a time since last Thursday and I've only found about 7 of them, only 3 of which dropped their "parts". I don't know if the pixies are place holders for them as they are in LFay. I've been too lazy to kill off pixies to check.

I still can't find them. I've been in Gfaydark for 16 lvls! I NEED HELP! Where can i find them? I was just wondering cuz i have a friend and bats are too easy, and so are orc pawns, but centrons are too strong! WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED?
They should....

I think they should put them in newbie area..If they are that hard though, maybe they should lower how hard they hit or something...
