Guide to doing this as fast and easy as possible

This works for me everytime:

1) Kill Grimling Chieftain, kill Grimling Defenders. ***After their dead wait by the hut for owlbears to show up***

2) Kill ONE of the owlbears standing outside the hut, then run to the owlbear cave in the west. Kill ONE of the owlbears outside the cave as well.

3) Run to the wolf caves in the east. Kill Defenders then run to the camp where named spawns. Kill her too, hopefully she drops eye.

This works for me everytime. I'm not sure why killing an owlbear at each camp helps them attack everytime, but it does. Every time I did the war exactly like this the owlbears attacked the wolves on the first shot. Hope this helps.

Ok... Everyone who posted about this didnt' make it very clear how this works.

To begin with, there are 3 camps owned by 3 different factions. There's the grimlings in the south, owlbears in the northwest, and wolves in the east.

It sometimes seems as if you can trigger an attack... I killed the grimling leader 3 times after the zone was reset (the camps were set back to normal... this happens every time you kill the *FORT BOSS* at the fort near Shal Val) and each time, the owlbears would do an attack shortly after. However, I'd kill the wolf leader next and for some reason, they would attack the owlbears... it seemed like there was nothing I could do to make the owlbears attack the wolves... it just sorta happened randomly.

So when one faction mounts an attack vs another faction, you pick what side you want to win and help them.

If you want the attackers to win, kill the defenders (which will be outside the camp being attacked). The defenders do not move, and DO summon... so be careful. Make sure you kill all of the healers in the grimling camp near the defenders if you don't have the dps to outdmg them, and be sure to kill the other NPCs near them if you think the other NPCs will aggro. You don't want to be tanking 8 mobs when you only have to tank 2 or 3 at a time.

If you want the defenders to win, simply find the attackers and kill them. They are normal NPCs... they don't summon and they are able to move around.

Once a certain faction has taken over all 3 camps, they will "overrun" the zone and the Vah Shir in the fort near Shar Val will run into Shar Val because they're scard of the dominant faction that has recently take over the zone. At that time, a *FORT BOSS* NPC representing the dominant faction will move into the fort and sit there until someone kills it. In order to reset the camps, you must kill this boss NPC.

Skriat`Chakku is the owlbear fort boss NPC.

Okay. After much time spent playing around with the wars, I have figured out the system for it.

First, you pick who you want to win. You then kill the chieftain/packleacer/denmother of the opposing side. That's all you need to kill. This will trigger an attack. When the defenders pop, you kill them and let your side take over. Then, move over to the other opposing side and wait. Do NOT kill the leader. Make absolutely sure you do not kill the leader. If you do, they will attack your side. So, you leave it alive, and wait where the defenders will attack. Your side will attack, and you kill defenders to let them win. And there you go, war won.

Now, I know this may seem vague, so I'll give some detail. Each side has a side they will attack initially. So you have to trigger them. If you kill the grimling chieftain, the owlbears will attack them. If you kill the Owlbear denmother, the wolves will attack them. If you kill the Sonic Wolf packleader, the grimlings will attack them.

That's all you really need to know. To start owlbears winning, kill grimling. Etc etc, so on and so on. Remember, it is important that after one side is wiped out, you don't kill the leader of the side holding only one base.

Now, if you DO kill the leader, that means they will attack your guys. But, you just have to kill the 5 - 6 attackers they send out. Do this, and you can just let them sit and your side will attack again and win with you taking the defenders out.

So far, I haven't tried killing the leader of your side when they control 2 bases, but I'll prolly try it soon.

Have fun folks, and enjoy those wars.

This is the boss owlbear. She spawns only when the Owlbear have won every position in the Moor: North Caves, East Cave, and South Swamp. After winning all of those, the owlbear take over the Vah Shir outpost and she spawns in there, always. No placeholder, she is there from when they take it over.

you could solo this boss, but you couldn't solo the things you have to kill to get this boss to spawn. they're perma rooted, but they summon you and hit you then. wait till you're lvl 55+

65 Rogue here, easily soloed entire war with only self buffs. Owlbears took over outpost and I waltzed right in. All attacked, but most hardly hit. This one however did make a dent in my HP, but nothing to sweat about, 30 to 40 seconds later the war was done. No problem. Dropped the beak.
what level?

i see that this mob is marked as level 40... but is it underconned? do you think a 42 druid could solo it? ... how often does the eye drop?

You have to have the owlbears to rule all 3 camps (owlbear cave, sonic wolf cave and the grimling camp).. just kill the boss at those places (sonic wolf and the grimlings) and help the attackers..
Eye of the Owlbear Mother

How do you get this Owlbear to spawn during the Hollowshade War to get the "Eye of the Owlbear Mother"?
