Soloed with 54 WAR

I was killing the Fireelements. After a kill this guy immediately popped. I was at 70% health. I had around 3500HP total, no buffs :(.
Mob started to hit me hard so i used evasive disc and equipped Truncheon of Doom to slow it. Once slowed it was easy. When i got down to 35% i clicked of evasive and used Mighty Strike disc with my DualWield setup. The crippling blows kept it stunned most time. Mob died soon after Mighty Strike ran out. I had about 30% left.
I had around 1280AC at that time. Dropped the choker for me.

This guy actually spawns under water on the lava river that is the pathway to the bridge from the entrance at Dulak. There are a total of 5 Elementals in all. 3 Static at Spawn in on a 25 minute respawn ticker and 2 single static Spawns underneath the water.

The Lava Etched Doombringer.
After killing the 3 Static spawns at zone in, swim from there under water close to the ground (for light) and follow the ravine around until you see the first elemental. He is the PH for The Lava Etched Doom bringer and is cursed in which upon death he will arise immediately and attack those responsible for the death of his Place holder!

The Fifth mob is Further down, he will find you also but they dont hit for more than 80-90.

What can kill you is that the lava eats you up as you swim so use fire resists to minimize dmg.

I use my Shaman to pull so I cast Quiessence to heal me over time so that im full health half way back from pulling the mob, leaving ample time to safely return to camp. I have died twice even at 65 lol, I admit it. Once I panic'd and thought I was getting burned and drowned (haha), the other I couldnt find a safe spot on the wall because I panic'd and burned to death. lol Be careful. I used the map and swam underwater using the map once I knew where the spawned.
Dont Panic!

Rinse and repeat. Is good xp mid 40's. Loot sux but oh well. Hope this helps, I was delighted to find the 2 additional mobs, due to the lenghty respawn times of the 3 static ones.

I have been leveling my Mage on Inny server at this location from level 51 through level 54.5. and so far, the doombringer always popped out of the Abhorrent, not the scorned. I have fought him 7 times and each time, it was the Abhorrent that he came out of.

Not to call the others posting here liars. Just to state what my experience has been.

Drops were:
4 - Symbols
1 - Stud
1 - Choker
1 - Lava Rock

At 51 - I was fortunate to have a BL that had zoned a minute before available to help me out with the kill. My weakened pet was immediately put to work because I was too close when Doomy spawned. Pet went down fast.

at 52, I learned to fight the Abhorrent with pet Guarding wayyyy out by the spawns, in their path to zone. That way if Doomy spawned - he would just stand there waiting and not aggro.

at 54, the XP turned low. For the kills, it is still good, but the spawn rate means the level becomes tedious. I was averaging 1/2 blue (approx 2.5%) per 3 kills. The Doomy usually was about 3 notches (about 2.5%) per kill. Doing the math, that means 1 hour of camping these guys nets you about 1.5 blues. That means about 16 hours of camping to get level 54. (roughly).

Drawbacks - Trains. You are RIGHT at the zone. People dont expect you to be camping there. I cant tell you how many times I 1) Had just got a bunch of free buffs from passing players on the pet - only to have to zone 10 minutes later because someone else trained the zone with Trolls; 2) I had lost KEI and had the spawns broken perfectly to manage the 2 scorned and 1 abhorrent, only to get trained and to have to re-enter, summon a new pet, items, and have to sit and restore my well scheduled mob spawns; 3) The Mobs get stuck into the cracks between rocks while fighting, which makes line-of-sight for casting purposes impossible..

Solutions to Drawbacks - first of all - ALWAYS summon your pet items first. Then canni pet to full mana, THEN summon your pet. Equip and by the time you have pet ready and buffed, you will probably be somewhere between 80-90% mana.

Secondly - trains. Solution - bite the bullet. You cannot control these nor prepare adequately for them.

Thirdly, use the walls to target mobs that get into the cracks. Having an overhead view makes targeting easy, casting possible, and also gives you additional space between the spawn of Doomy and you. It does NOT protect you from Trains that get close to zone. They will climb after you.

Named mobs are often static - but the can respawn after about 30 mins. If they bring named to zone, hope that only 1 remains around. 2-3 and you will need to wait the 30 or so minutes for them to reset.

I hope all this info helps.

The Doombringer spawned out of the abhorrent, from the furthest right spawn, for me. He hit for up to 121.
After camping here for a while, out of 18 pops: 15 from abhorrent, 3 from scorned.

Nice info, only disagree on one point. The Doomcrawler burst from the ashes of a Scorned Elemental first time I saw him, the furthest "left" of the three ele spawns as you sit at the ZL.

I (lvl 52 Mage) was hunting the elementals at the Zoneline of Nadox/Gunthak and he popped out of a dead scorned elemental. He chewed through my earth pet can came after me. He hits for about 100 and is fast. I zoned out, medded and healed to full. Invis myself and walk back in. He is sitting near zoneline. I backed up right next to a wall and the zoneline, just out of his aggro range. I summoned Mudball, buffed him and medded to FM. I sent the pet in and he kept him rooted. I zapped him with my anti-summoned spells and summoned another earth pet when the 1st one was almost dead. I got hit once before this badass died. He dropped the earring for me and I dinged to 53! A great reward for a really hard solo fight. Score!
51 shammie solo kill
# Aug 12 2003 at 4:31 PM Rating: Decent
I killed this guy last night with my 51 shammie. He popped from the ashes of the scorned, and put up a decent fight. Killed my pet (/mourns) but I never got below 50% health. Malosi, and then just dotted him to death....

choker sells on cazic for about 500pp
Lvl incorrect?
# Jul 23 2003 at 9:26 PM Rating: Decent
For chits and giggles, I tried to DC one of these after it chased off the shammy that was soloin there. It took hold! So this leads me to believe the base level has to be 46. Just thought Id post that info.

BTW - They make wicked pets.

I went to Nadox for the first time today (50 SHM), and after killing a scorned element the Doombringer popped.

I was low on mana, and after going back had 2 EBolts resisted in a row. A few hours later, I got an MGB Hand of Virtue, pushing me to just over 1000 AC and 3100 HPs.

The Doombringer was still there when I went back, and on my first two attempts I bailed out, after getting it down to just over one red bubble. The third time things went much better, with none of my 3 1000-point DoTs resisted. I got the choker when it died, along with a blue and a half of experience. The others gave half a blue at level 50, so I'd say this mob is indeed closer to 50 than 40.

It doubled for 121 at most, compared to the 109 maximum from the scorned element.

As I was hangin out killin the elementals, I FINALLY got him to spawn. At 51 he was dark blue to me, and not too tought to kill. Sent the pet in, DOTed, DDed a couple of times and then just agro kitted him around untill he died. He dropped the Firestricken Stud.

luck

Got LUCKY today. Was in Gunthak figured i'd head to Dulak's to see about this (sweet light blue exp) and (awesome plat) zone i have been hearing about. Well i don't know the caves very well yet, and ended up in Nadox. Saw some elementals up and started taking them down. Very easy for me at 56 (w/kei). Finally i killed one, and this guy pops, Lava Etched Doombringer - i was like OMG a named! Well then bad luck hits me as i am fighting way too close to zone line and get knocked back to gunthak. I zone back in to nadox and a bard has mezzed the named. Ask if i can kill it and he said yea so i took him down (also pretty easy), and sure enough, a Firestricken Stud dropped! This item looks like a great necro item as it has both hp and mana/int.
So anyone know the PC on this?????

Same thing happened to me a few minutes ago (I am meditating from the fight as I am typing this hehe). Was soloing "a scorned element" when, just after its death, this named insta-spawned.

Hits harder and maybe faster than the scorned ones. I fot a Firestricken Stud on it, which upgraded well my old Hoop of Magi'Kot.

Juste a note : those mobs are all of the summoned type so every anti-summoned spell works on them. Could be pretty cool for a 56 mage with Exile Summoned. At level 58 (like I am), Shock of Steel beats the sh*t out of Exile Summoned...
some weird thing this dropped

As far as I have been able to determine it is just vendor loot. Since none of the nicer items or quest items from LOY will be purchased by NPCs and this sells for 20-30pp to them. It will drop of any of the elementals.

I have killed this fella twice now. I have gotten the choker both times. He spawned when I killed a scorned element. The scorned are his place holders. Just a very rare chance that he will show up. Fortunately we mages are as adept at killing elementals as well as controling them. I have never seen him cast a spell or a ds. For that matter I have never seen any of the ones at the entrance to Nadox cast or use a ds.

EDIT: Soloing the elems today in the entrance to Nadox from the Gulf. Killed a scorned element and it's death spawned the Doombringer. I was not prepared, I was nearly oom and it killed my pet, had just enough mana to chain cast one more pet but the second pet I cast didnt hold aggro. So the Doombringer kept after me and I had to zone back to the Gulf. Sat just inside the Gulf zoneline for about 15-20 minutes medding/healing/conjuring new pet equipment. Zoned back in and Doombringer was still up. So if this named one does despawn, its not quickly FYI.

---------

This is a rare insta-spawn creature that only pops after killing one of the elementals near the entrance to the Crypt of Nadox from the Gulf of Gunthak. May spawn in other spots too, I don't know the zone that well yet.

The normal elementals seem to be on approximately a 15 minute timer +/- a few minutes, although none of us actually timed it.

I was lucky to be the only INT caster of the 3 guildies there camping this spot so I got the earring. Smiley: grin

20 minute timer for the normal mobs... seems to be random on the Lava Etched Doombringer spawn. Sometime he spawns on the 3rd normal mob I kill sometimes he spawns on the 20th or anywhere in the middle.
