For a mage...killing all three shouldn't be hard. Make sure you have SOW and tag one. Of course all three chase you...run to DSP and zone! The second you're on the other side ZONE BACK into ME and run as fast as you can out the entrance....you'll find them moseying back to their spot but you can then tag the one closest to you and he'll chase you alone. Take him where you want and you and your pet have at him. Then repeat. Piece of cake.

Was with a group in Maiden's Eye and we got one of these guys. We had a 52 Druid, 52 Warrior, 55 Cleric, 56 Enchanter, 52 Rogue, and a 51 Monk. Needless to say, we were no match for it. It polished of the cleric, which left me to heal. Then, the chanter went down so quick I could not even heal him. In a combo of the Warrior not having enough HP/AC, the scout hitting him pretty hard, and me only having Druid heals, he went down in maybe 45 seconds - 1 minute. The monk, then FDed, and the Rogue bit the dust pretty quick leaving me. Since the Chanter had managed to get Tash off, I had snared him, so I thought I would have a little fun. Unfortunatly, he was the only one having fun after snare broke. He got me down to 21% and I was forced to zone. When I zoned over to DSP, the group was disbaned, so I went to solo in CS.

At 52 I, a druid, was able to solo these guys, at least one at a time. They do hit hard, but your group must have been really unprepared for them if you only took on one.

Yeah extremely bad luck. I had to laugh at this as I a 55 necro solo all 3 of these Scouts with no trouble at all.

How here is how get your self a pet preferably a XI Xaui cleric if not a Skeletal Drudge will do.
Hit your targeted mob with splurt and send pet in while you run back to the rock near dsp entrance.

Now sit! What the!!!! 2 of the scouts have broken off the attack and are headin after you. Stand up they head back after the pet.

So like the first video game ever created "Pong" you sit/stand keeping the 2 other scouts off your pet while it engages the other.

If pet doesnt last the whole fight not to worry the 2 scouts that were being ponged will head after pet when it reaches 20%. Now is the time to fd and watch pet die when pet is dead wait about 15 seconds or until you see the scouts move back to their spawn point. Now go get another pet and repeat till the first mob is dead.

When there are 2 mobs start the fight by rooting one and the other will come after you send pet onto it now go and hit the rooted one with a slow now back to the engaged mob and slow it as well as a couple of dots to hasten the process.

Your job at this point is to keep the rooted mob rooted and slowed. I like to add a splurt to the mix so when pet finishes the one, I have the aggro on the other, now pet can just go around bashing the second while medding.

Not for the feignt of heart this strategy but works well. If Charm breaks? Hit your hot button "Train to dsp" and zone. You should be able to zone out before the mobs actually come into aggro range of other camps.

If you are fortunate enough to get a Xi Xaui cleric for a pet (not all Xi Xaui are clerics)then just send it in and it will take out all 3 of the scouts on its own.

You do realize that you can re-charm if you keep your target rooted and also have FD right?

Lucid Shard?

Single Pull at level 56
# May 23 2003 at 6:30 AM Rating: Decent
They can be single pulled with level 56. With my Necro I didnt have any problem to kill many, 1% exp each, althought they can´t be feared. So you have to keep running, dotting and nuking while your pet is on him. He wont attack your pet when he´s following you... Hope this can help, good luck!
level range is lower, and NOT 28kHP, LOL

OK, I've killed 5 in the last 3 days. Four of them gave about 1% AA, and one gave 2% AA, and ENRAGED. That means it was 55+ (since that puts the mob in my bonus XP range, as I'm 60). The other four were 54 or lower. So the low end of the level range for these guys should be 54 at the most.

As to them having 28kHP, it's not even close. I quadded the 3 at the rock near DSP, as well as a vampyre bat that popped from a trap, and believe me, I can't quad mobs with 28kHPs. After looking over my logs for damage done, I'd say they have about 12.5-13.5kHP.

A bit of info
# Jan 05 2003 at 9:07 PM Rating: Good
First of all, the level range as posted is incorrect. Last night I solo'd two of them, one of which was white to me s a 59 shaman. Secondly, although I had an occasional resist, I had little difficulty sticking slow, root, Malosi, Pox of Bertox, Bane of Nife, and epic dots. I usually root them, slow them, malosi them, and then can be confident that I would see no resists from Malosi on. They have around 28k Hp, as my 2000 point epic dot would drop them by about 7% health. They do NOT cast or summon, thankfully. Lastly, at level 59, I could NOT single-pull them away from the rock they use as a spawn point. There's usually 3 of them up at the rock at the DS side of the ruins, and casting on one of them got me all 3 (I WAS able to solo all 3 at once, but it took me a half hour and scared the bejeebuz out of me. Couldn't have done it without my epic weapon.)Level 57 druid and level 60 ranger guildies were able to pull them singly with Harmony of Nature.

Hope that helps.

Shaman epic does 1485, but since its so darn slow they regen alot back so you would be luck if you did 1300 actual damage

I believe the epic DoT is around 1200, not 2k. This could be part of the difference in HPs between the two estimates.

I've had trouble snaring or rooting the scouts. Are they resistant or have I just been unlucky??
