Did this on Agnarr today. The ring event leading up to his spawning was easy, I duoed it tanking as a time geared ranger and healing myself as a shaman with potato gear. This guy, however, slaps. We killed him with a warrior, cleric, paladin, shaman, and enchanter charming.

Has mitigation of the mighty like a standard PoP raid named.

~377706 HP

Quads. 1707 was highest hit seen.

Ramps

Immune to slow, root, and snare. Spells landed relatively easy on him, especially cripple.

Did not cast nor use any abilities throughout the fight.

Dropped a spectral parchment, and the Stormrider Ear Charm.

I actually did this yesterday, and for an old school event, it was actually quite a lot of fun solo. In order to get the event started, you need to go to all the little circles on the map in the tree town, killing every last one of the stormriders. Once they are dead, you will see two other ones pop at a random place in the tree town. Kill those two and there will be 8 elders / chieftans that pop... 4 to one tree and 4 to another. Kill them and this guy will pop in yet another tree. BE FOREWARNED, he spawns about 6-8 adds that look like clay statues or something. If you kill them, they will repop in about 15 seconds (individually timed, not all at once... so you cant kill all but one and leave him up till you kill main mob... each one will spawn 15 seconds after it dies). Anyhoo, kill the main mob, then kill adds and loot up. He only dropped 1 item from loot table for me, which was haste belt.

Spawn Time?
# Oct 29 2003 at 9:18 AM Rating: Decent
Anyone know the spawn time on this mob? And where does he spawn?
RE: Spawn Time?
# Jan 15 2004 at 4:51 AM Rating: Excellent
He spawns in the bee trees.

To make him spawn, kill all the bees in the trees. Once the last normal bee is dead, 8 new bees will pop. 4 (1 elder, 3 chiefs) in a room to the south, 4 (1 elder, 3 chiefs) in a room to the north. Kill those 8 bees then this bee will pop in the room in the south.

I don't know why its not listed above but we were very dissapointed when this guy dropped a Falchion of Storms http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=17252

Add to that are the chiefs and elders that drop nothing but ethereal occasionally and are pretty tough. Always nice to get an ethereal parchment from a non slowable mob that hits for 1100+.

I won't be wasting my time on this event again.

Considering that he also is known to drop some excellent gear, including one of, if not THE, best DROPPABLE haste belts in the game, it's your loss.. we'll take him if you don't want him :-)

Really the only challenge with this big bee is keeping rampage damage under control on your clerics. Even if you have the best of tanks you're going to have to start CH rotation right away which means you're gonna get clerics on the rampage list. When the guy hits for 1400+ thats not good. My advice for taking this guy is to

1. group at least 1 patch healer (shaman or druid) with all clerics.
2. bring lots of nukers.
3. have a strong tank, preferrably 2 so you can switch who has aggro when defensive goes down for the first warrior.

really its pretty simple once you get the tactics down, just like doing a vindi x 2

Not that hard anymore. Have your MT use Furious disc on aggro. That's 8-12 seconds of no damage while he builds aggro. Also gives time for the rampage tank to engage before CH cycle. Aggro really shouldn't be an issue in fights like this anymore.

Not Slowable
# Dec 10 2002 at 1:26 AM Rating: Decent
Immune to slow as of 12/8/2002. Gives immunity message to all chanter slows. Didn't try rogue, shammy, bard slow. Likely immune.

100-200k hps not clear but think closer to 200k. quads 1480 range. Imagine 2 Vindi's pounding on you.

Unsnareable. Immune.

High CR, average FR. Fire may be the key.

We got destroyed with 3 groups.

2 wizards with focus and strike of solesek and a bard with rizens make this fight much quicker as long as tank can hold agro. (crits for 6437 on firebased spell with a small lure component to adjust for pop mob resist as neg 10) .

if caster gets summoned caster is gonna die unless tank AE taunts right after because this thing hits very hard and wizzy concussion doesnt seem to want to hit either.(maybe just bad luck but several people have said it)

well over 200k hp. I parsed 215,000 in melee, casters probably did 100k or so. Fight lasted 203 seconds and the groups did 1061 DPS. The mob did 1084 DPS on the group. Max hit 1481, ave 767.

You have to figure his regen into your HP estimate.

Slowable?
# Dec 09 2002 at 9:23 AM Rating: Decent
I know he was slowable before this week, but I think they stealth nerfed him. I don't think he is slowable any longer. May want to bring more than 3 groups if this is true.
Humm...

Well we have killed this guy 3 times and he has yet to drop the Earing or the Spec Partchment....
He both time has droped a sword and a regular Partchment soo WHATS the DEAL...???

Ohh BTW GM's can operate this mob so be careful .. we had a gm on the Rathe server come to play but we had killed him just before he could ... =P
RE: Humm...
# May 25 2003 at 7:43 PM Rating: Default
Hate to tell you this but GM's can take over ANY mob in the game. Policy prevents them from certain ones, they just don't do it often. If we had less people fight with each other the GM's would be able to spend their time planning events instead of holding peoples hands

They use to be called Shadoweys, I guess they renamed them Gyphed Rune Words. Probly extremely rare.
