Let me also add that with todays DPS.
If you kill to fast the event doesn't happen ... you just kill Baraguj and no event starts, no port o stomach nothing

Do not fight the trigger mob Baraguj, just let him hit you. Sit with your back to it. Mercs and pets passive.
You only fight him when he respawns at the bottom of the tower after the event.

spawn rate is 3 days + / - . I have gotten in 2 days 22 hours and 3 days 2-1/2 hours. so there is a spread. and make sure you turn auto looting on using advanced loot. in the stomach you get ported out instantly. but I had loot everything turned out. the end mob dropped a staurolite and a mass of muscle which I never would have gotten if I didn't have it on.

Thanks, added 3 day +/- 12 hour spawn rate which quite a bit of the older world is on this spawn schedule.

Baraguj
# Nov 08 2011 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
Two versions to this creature:

First one is at the top of his tower. When attacked, you are ported into his stomach. Unpleasantly, you walk around a spherical room with tongues inside of it until you come across a trap door. Falling through, there are at least 6 adds (a flayed horror) and (a skinless creature), and this room also has a trap door. Repeating this process 3 more times, you fall into a room with 4 adds and (An Unimaginable Horror).
Defeating the named will spawn an invisible add (an unseen entity) that will port you to the entrance of his tower, where there are adds.

The second version is at the base of the tower, which spawns after the stomach event is completed. A much harder creature than (An Unimaginable Horror), Baraguj will hit hard and fast until he is defeated, in which he gives 'Mouths of Baraguj Szuul'. Combining all of the orbs from the Avatars will grant you the key to Saryrn's chambers.

if you have a war Merc up dont go in if it gets agro first he cannot be bannished to stomach so event will not progress as it should suspend merc until in stomach.

75 pally solo. Hardest part of the event was fighting Barry.
Cause a couple years of PoP flagging wasn't enough...

Duo'd today for a lark, 75 monk in anguish+ gear and 75 shaman in mostly 200 hp/mana gear.

Getting to him was trivial, the fight itself was fast but fun - monk's HP bounced all over the place.
2 Boxed
# Dec 18 2006 at 3:54 PM Rating: Decent
I successfully 2 boxed Baraguj Szuul today (19 Dec 06) with a 74 Warrior (12.3k HP unbuffed, Qvic-ish gear for the most part) and a 71 Cleric (8k mana unbuffed, almost no raid gear). He dropped Mouths and Insanity Fangs, no gear.

First attempt resulted in a wipe (missed a heal at 42%). Second attempt was successful, Cleric finished with 10m. Warrior burned all useful discs (Final Stand, Furious, Fellstrike and Savage Onslaught).

This sucker hits fast, and can at times hit fairly hard. Top hit on me appeared to be 1102 (20% shielding). I had DI pop twice (one failed) and I was purple clubbed twice.

Very fun fight. Now I can finally finish my Saryrn key, albeit 2 years late.

We started with one group: SK/DRU/CLR/ENC/SHM/MAG

Our clumsy Mage jumped into stomach and provoked a wipe. SK (8kHP unbuffed) made it to FD and detected that all mobs but An Unimaginable Horror can be done solo by him.

We managed it to bring the cleric back => An Unimaginable Horror went down smooth.

For the final fight we had a warrior to tank (replacing the mage) and an extra cleric. Took ~8 mins for us 7. Slow lands but is resisted often.

Guild on Tholuxe Paells attempted this bloke tonight with 11 people, mostly decked out with gear from BoT Towers and other PoP tier 1 farmables, some bazaar stuffs and Omens drops (NC/WoS). Final call was at 44% before the last of us died.

The stomach event is really quite simple - the thingies inside had a pretty small aggro range, but any adds were dealt with by a single enchanter (was 69th level). Kill, move, kill move, kill, move, all that stuff. Did not need to off-tank the UH, he never aggroed on us. UH was confirmed immune to slow and mez, very resistant to magic (snare/root would not land, but no immunity message was given).

After porting out, we opted to have that very same enchanter get a pet charmed (one of the big beasty types nearby) and ready and throw it at the mob to give us a chance to slow it. With 2 Stonewood Bow/AM3 rangers, those beasties were taking a good minute or so to take out, so we knew they had hit points. Said pet went down in, I would say, 4 or 5 seconds after doubling and ccasionally tripling for 1253, as well as flurries every 5-10 seconds. Remember Doomshade when he was a big bad? Anyway, as a ranger, I moved up and fired Weaponshield, the enchanter got it slowed, shaman overwrote that slow, the poor thing was slowed.

Our DPS was just lacking. Both rangers burning Trueshot, we couldn't get him down fast enough with the "quick heal" strat. Our UMR18 druid ran out of mana by the time the bloke was at 60%, and we wiped by 44.

Pre-elemental guilds, I would certainly suggest adding a third group to your raid when you engage this guy. Make sure you're not lacking on heals, either. Half this guy's damage came from those flurries.
Starting the Saryn Ring

Our guild started the key quest tonight. Pretty much everything posted here is correct. Tho, I would like to clarify some things.

First off this is not quite as easy as it sounds in previuos posts. I am not sure of the exact number in our raid but it was around 30'ish Avg level 64, pre VT with Grummis, Terris Thule, Carpin Cycle, PoI Dragon, Aufflie and Byrnju kills under our belts. With that in mind we headed in. We easily made it to Baraguj's tower.Note: if you can afford to leave a small group right at the entrance to keep the 4 spawns here cleared it will be a big help when later on you are ported back here 1 at a time. Note if Barauguj is on the ground floor of his tower, straight in from where you enter from the bridge then someone wiped on him and if you run in thinking you are going get ported somewhere you will quckly find out that somewhere is your bindpoint. So if he is here then set up for your raid kill and be glad you bypassed the stomach. We were not so lucky, so we cleared the ramps up the tower and headed in. Note: Getting ported is proximity based ie. he attacks (no damage) and you are ported into the stomach. There are no mobs at port in, so now is a good time to refresh buffs. Once your done you will notice a large trap door in the middle of the room. Tell everyone to move off of it and then click on it. It will fall open and will look like a deep well. Tell everyone once they jump in to move towards a wall as they are falling and you will stick to it. Just move out to fall and back to stop, otherwise your plate tanks will die from the fall. Send the tanks first cause you are going to have 3 adds when they land. Everyone else jump in and quickly dispatch these adds. If you killed 3 then there will be 3 left to get rid of (6 total in room). All the mobs here are those crab things and damage is about the same as the mobs throughout the zone. Once they are dispatched you will notice another trap door. Same as previously, send your tanks then folllow quickly and dispatch anpther 2 or 3 then clear the room, 6 or 7 in this room. IMPORTANT NOTE You will notice a trap door in this chamber and a hall with more mobs leading away from this chamber and a DO NOT TRY AND TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND NOT KILL THE OTHER MOBS. Why? Because if you jump down the trap door in the first chamber you will land right in the middle of 6 or 7 mobs that will all add at once!!! (like we did LOL). Had you killed the 2 or 3 mobs in the tunnel, you would have found another chamber with another trap door with 4 mobs around it. These are easily split and dispatched then if you drop down that trap door you will land in the farside of the chamber with only 1 mob to contend with (hehehe Tricky Devs). Ok if you did like we did and dropped in the first trap door and survived the hectic fight, rez and rebuff cause the next drop is the last chamber. Jump in and you will have 3 or 4 crabs on you and will probably get the named An Unimaginable Horror. Set the MT on this by himself and kill the rest of the mobs first, I am not sure but once you kill the Horror an invis mob spawns and attacks you with a proc that ports you back out to the entrance of the tower one at a time. So I figure if you kill the Horror first you might be leaving people with the ordinary mobs in the chamber that may not can handle them. NOTE Rez anyone that dies before you kill the unimaginable horror or they aren't going to be with you on the final kill, also if you get the rez while they are still fighting the horror Loot your corpse QUICKLY. Hehe I got a rez after they killed the Horror and before I could loot I was attacked and ported outside, we did not have any coffins so I fought Baraguj Naked hehehe. After you kill the Horror have your tanks sit down if you did not leave a small group at the tower entrance to keep the guard spawns cleared and hope that you tanks get attacked and ported out first. If your a caster and get ported out stand and die where you land don't run around or you'll just get adds that will make it harder on the next that get ported down. Once all are ported out (it was slow but thank goodness no one was left as some of the other post suggest) Rez any that died, buff to full and Med to full cause now the real Baraguj is up and straight ahead. Set up your MT and ST (There was no Ramp that I saw but you need someone if your MT dies to maintain agro) and Have your heal rotation set like an Avatar of War fight. This thing hits HARD and fast. MT was taking well over 1K hits while defensive. He can be slowed so get this done as soon as you can and most spells landed. He enrages at low heath so watch for the message. All he dropped for us was the Box for the key combine, but it was a fun raid. Hope this helps others that may be thinking of doing this little adventure.

I parsed about 250K hps on the real version that pops after the stomach event is successfully completed. How fast his regen is, and uncounted dots make it imprecise beyond that general amount.

Where is his general location/area? I have searched all over and there is very little info on this event and how to get to it.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have only been on a few crawls in Torment, but have not seen him up on track. Where exactly is Baraguj Szuul's spawn? Perhaps he is easy to find, but had been killed prior to our visits. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Note that the spawn point is on the other side of zone from ZI. He might be out of your track range.

There are two versions of him. They are both located at n1021, p1.

The 'fake' one that ports you into his stomach is located in the room at the top of his tower(you clear up the ramp that wraps around the tower).

The 'real' one is spawned upon killing the Unimaginable Horror in the stomach event. It's in the open base of the tower (50 feet below the fake version). Since the two spawn points are seperated by height its very easy to tell if the real one is up.

Surprise
# Aug 24 2003 at 8:47 PM Rating: Default
Guild went to start the event, we rushed him to get teleported inside....

SURPRISE! after 1 min of fighting, it was clear the last attempt on him failed so we were stuck with the real last spawned. Wiped in 2 minutes after getting him down to 50%
Rezzed up rebuffed and came back to finish him after we were prepared =)
This is certainly fun... ONCE.

Three groups from my guild did the stomach encounter a few days ago. A single group could easily do it up to the last mob, but Boraguj is one tough buggar.

One thing to note is that when you enter the stomach, be careful of your trajectory as you step into the chutes to the levels below. If you dive in all gung-ho like some of ours did, expect a 20k damage fall. A bard for lull and a monk to give him targets is an easy way to assure you don't get massive aggro when you jump in.

It should also be noted that the unimaginable horror had a 30 minute corpse but before i got a chance to check him, we were teleported out of the area. He drops SOMETHING even if it's just blood for tradeskills. If you kill him, be sure to just loot the instant the horror dies cause I only hesitated about 2 seconds.

Baraguj nearly wiped out all 18 of us, but luckily our enchanter had a flurry mob charmed and he took over as main tank when all were dead but 2 clerics, a druid, and the enc.

While I had fun doing it that one time, I hope I never have to do it again.

PS: Boraguj drops the container which is called "The Heads of Boraguj"
FUN !

Did this " event " tonight ....

1 group only .

Cleared to him np ... 2 levels of tormentors ( unslowable ) and a few Blood Ravens.

Engaged him and just Hailed him after a while , we all took damage off of him and got transported into stomach.

Did the 3 levels of mobs inside stomach np ... need to have sound strategy.

At bottom is room of 4 mobs and an unimaginable horror i think the name was , kill that and get transported back up to near boss .. right on top of 2 Tormentors ( nice surprise )

Once they are cleared you have 2 Tormentors in front of boss mob and 2 to the sides ( which we ignored ).

We engaged Baraguj .... and well ... previously he hit for 450 ish to banish us into stomach and what happened next caught us by surprise !

This bad boy TRIPLED for 1253 max !

I would suggest this is NOT a 1 group encounter , unless you have a VERY sound strategy .... which after our first run at it , we have a few ideas on some tactics for next encounter :)

He IS slowable however ( didnt get immune message ) , just didnt get it off in time lol , MA dead in secs and rest followed sharpish !

NOT going to post ALL i learnt about this event , work it out for yourself .. thats the fun part :)

Must admit though this was the best fun i had in EQ for a while , great dungeon crawl.... took us 4 hrs i think !

Anyway , thats me done , gl on this event and enjoy :)

Don't let this post fool you. If you're thinking of doing this bring at least 20+ people for your first attempt. It takes a good hour of clearing hard hitting mobs just to start the "event", and baraguj szuul can wipe an entire raid in seconds if you're not ready.

This event was pretty fun the first time, but having to go back after that really sucks.

Clear to him , then all enrage him and everybody gets ported into some caves .Clear all the cave levels from their undeads and at the end you arrive back at Baraguj .
He only drop a bag , needed for some key quest in this zone .
The caves are really fun .

Ok, if you see this guy in Torment and think, "hey he's all alone and only lvl 66, we can rush him." Think again.

We cleared to his room and did the rush job on him. Apparantly he banishes you to a giant stomach where you slowly digest, not a pleasant surprise when you CH the main tank but he is nowhere to be found.

Easy to get to. Might need some planning for the stomach thing.
