Overpower the script

If you're way overleveled for this, and are doing planar flags / MB for a specific reason, then just sit in his room and kill the spiders as they enter. The spiders have to walk inside a bit, and go to the 4 batteries that are on either side of the doorway as they enter. That's where they explode to power MB.

Since the explosion is what powers the machine, you just need to prevent them from doing the explosion. As a result, MB will become targetable in 5 minutes. This essentially overpowers the script since the few seconds to swing, retarget, swing, run to the other side of the room, and do the same 2 more times is easily enough time to get MB targetable.

I was able to one shot all the spiders with a 115 Bard, so even with the weaker melee classes this should be possible. A move speed buff longer than 5 minutes helps since your going from one side of the room to the other as they come in, but I'm not sure if it's necessary with Run AAs. I have Selo's on all the time, so I figured I'd mention it.

I am a 85 ranger on the Nameless and was just messing around with flags in POP...I tried to get him to spawn several times with a cleric Merc.......I just couldn't do it. The spiders kept entering due to lack of I changed it up a bit and brought in a J1 tank....I set him up on one side of the room and let him start tanking a spider and left him there....I took the other side.....was very tough having to clear my side and heal the tank as the spiders added up and started to drop his HP fast. Eventually the MB spawned and I was able to keep my merc alive with heals and AE nukes...pretty fun actually. So don't give up if you want to try this solo for kicks.....

to get MB targetable, you have to keep the clockwork spiders out of his room for a short time. I didn't time it, but it seemed like it was about 5-10mins. After that, he's targetable and can be killed.

Only reason I'm posting this is so folks looking to kill him don't have to keep scrolling

On a side note, if you're farming sunshard pebbles, the clockwork spiders respawn insanely fast and have a pretty good drop rate of them.

Did this fight with a 79 SK and 76 cleric. This fight is impossible without Guild Lobby buffs including flameskin. Tried this yesterday without them and couldn't do it because neither my SK or cleric could kill the spiders fast enough. With the buffs I attacked 1 spider and just stood there and the others would aggro and beat themselves to death on the flameskin. I parked my cleric at one door and the SK at the other and killed spiders until MB became active. When he did I ran across MB's room and pulled him to where the cleric was. MB was a wimp. Harmtouch knocked him down to 50% HP and it was easy from that point on. BTW it doesn't take 15 minutes of killing spiders for MB to activate. It was significantly less than 10.

According to the SOE forums (no direct link handy, sorry) MB is still broken, has been for a few months (been trying to get him for tactics access for some time now).

According to the patch info April 07 2009:
*** Previously Hotfixed ***
- The Manaetic Behemoth should once again appear in the Plane of Innovation.

(Not sure the original 'hofix' date then, but regardless he should now be working again)

MB event is working fine on Al`Kabor. We did him recently and all folks who needed to get flagged, did.

I tanked with my WAR. 8.8k HP, 1800AC. His DPS was minimal, though his proc kept our spotter awake.

Positioning and CC were the hardest parts of this fight.

although alot of these posts are very helpfull, none of them say what the respawn time is for this guy , anyone know for sure what the respawn time is on MB, if you do know please send me an in game email at SOE.Saryrn.beinshady or post it here , thank you .

Has anyone seen the MB up after the PoP fabled? We've been checking weekly and either someone is really good at killing him, or the fabled patch broke him from spawning. It's been years since killing him, but as I recall, he's either trackable or you can see his untargetable version even before beginning the event.

Duoed with 75 monk and cleric, both CoA geared but less than 700 AAs each. Cleric killed spiders on one side while Monk killed on the other, just outside of MB's room. As he becomes active the monk ran through the MB room agroing him and pulling him into the other doorway next to the cleric, and out of AE range as the spiders blow up inside the room that are coming in from the doorway left unguarded. As more spiders show up they agro the cleric and monk was able to burn down MB with the help of a few well timed Promised Renewals to keep him up.

Warrior tanked and DPSed MB ( DPS was enough to kill him within 5 mins)
Cleric healed the Warrior

Shadowknight Tanked / Killed Mobs on the east Side
Bard and Shaman Killed mobs on the west side

Note that it takes 10-15 minutes of killing Spiders until the Manaetic Behemoth becomes active.
Dont let anyone but the MT be in MBs room , so you avoid all AEs etc. He really has an insanely low amount of HP

We took this guy down twice so far with 21 person raid. We just one group MB in main room and put people on corners to control spiders. Easy kill.

Did Him Tuesday Night With Full Raid had 2 groups on each corner controling the spiders 1 enc on each corner for engage had 1 grp come back to MB when engage was ready and left others and enc there to handle the spiders and mez other died pretty easy as long as u dont get the AE he is pretty easy killed him in 3 total from engage time to death droped Hammer Shim n Drape

Downed on Tunare at 3:45 AZ time on May 8th to an Open raid of 61 peeps. Went well aside from my "fat-finger" ninja hail. I felt really bad after that. But, everyone still got their flag.

Just did this with 40 people. We had only one chanter who was in charge of Runing the MT. Honestly you dont need chanter's on the raid. Just a strong tank (pref pally or sk) that can aggro multiple mobs....the DPS group can get any adds that sneak by....MB should fall within 2 min or so after engage..just keep the MT alive and you will win

I've done MB dozens of times.

Chanters should be ok with up to 6 spiders by themselves. After about 6 the remezzing gets tough. Keep peridot handy to recast rune on yourself on top of your componentless rune. Spiders only hit for like 150 and you should be able to get them remezzed before they go through runes.

Hi "70 ranger". Couple of things:

1. "Stacking" the component-using rune on top of arcane rune does NOTHING. You get no extra damage absorb from that.

2. Leaving your chanters alone in the room with 6 spiders is begging for a wipe.

Think you should go back to playing your ranger and let the people who know what they're doing deal with the crowd control. ;)

Actually they do stack. What doesn't stack is arcane rune and eldritch rune (the aa rune.)

No, they don't stack. You can have them both in your buff slots at the same time but they do not stack. You only get the damage absorb from the higher one.

I was on an MB raid last night and we were doing good, me being an Enchanter, I was on the north side spiders. We were rockin', killing the spiders...heres how it went

mez the spider
kill the spider
heal the chanter
mez the spider
kill the spider
heal the chanter

it was going good....but then

the raid leader /rsay "ALL ON MB"

and my spider team "LEFT ME", 1 chanter alone against 4 spiders

they ate me alive and proceeded to move into MB's room and wipe the rest of the raid


it will save you and the enchanter alot of headaches.

Some info on the gnome.

First, I have timed planar projections that appear on other mobs. Without fail, the PP despawns after ten minutes. This holds if someone hails the instant the PP pops, if no one hails at all, or any combination inbetween.

The gnome who pops after MB's death is different, though. On several raids I've been on, the gnome stayed up longer than ten minutes.

Yesterday, I led a successful raid against MB. When the gnome popped, I asked a necro to tag him, pull him into the corridor, and FD. (I was low on monks. Smiley: cool ) As we were dealing with flags and finishing off the remaining aggro spiders, someone again aggroed the gnome, and I had that person die (he didn't have FD). I hung around to see how long the gnome would stay up.

By my logs, the gnome stayed up about 27 minutes after Behe's death. I don't know if this is because we aggroed the gnome twice (which may have reset the timer), or if he always stays up an extended period of time.
