I was killing random goblins, for a glinting shard for lost heirlooms (level 20) quest, when all of a sudden, this great big (i am a halfling) barbarian starts coming up to me and punching the lights out of me (me at level 33 here folks). So i start trying to nuke him, one of my nukes got him down from 100% to 80%, but then ran out of mana (was low before i started, i wasn't really expecting him you see) and he was hitting me hard, as i only have about 1k hitpoints. So i was forced to run for my tiny little life. So just be warned, If you are fighting in permafrost, expect that man to come charging at you. It may be your life on the line next time hehe
I wuz siting at the entrance with my 22 mage on the xegony server afk and it showed in the melee log he wuz the one that broke me outta my invisability spell...
I found this guy several times, always at the same place. When you enter the first big room (the one with a passage to the right and another to the left that leads to west part of Perma), he's in a corner to the right.
He backstabs (e.g. he's a rogue) and doesn't seem to be magic resistant.
He was dubious to me (wood elf druid) even after killing him twice.
But be careful because he will assist the goblins if you aggro them unless your level is high enough. He didn't with me (Level 56) but did with a Level 22 ranger.
I just killed this guy today, and since no one has posted info, I thought I would try to get some up here. I was in Everfrost today for the first time ever with my 40 dwarf paladin (he doesn't like the cold too much) and I decided to check out Permafrost after looking up the levels of the mobs. I got to the entrance, and groups were killing the giants outside, so I walked right in. I was surprised to find myself the only person in the zone. I started walking in slow, conning as I went using my EQ Atlas map to guide me. Everything was green. I got to the flag room and stopped to get my bearings and plot a course to the Arch's room. Just then, I get aggroed by a priest, which was green to me (many other greens on the way in left me alone). So I start beating on him, when around a rock/pillar comes running a barbarian. I am thinking WTF, who is this, and he starts beating on me. He cons blue, and I glance at my bestiary list and I think, oh hell, I am in trouble, he is 36 (after all, I have had giants that are level 33 give me a hell of a time). I kill the priest, and see that this guy is not hitting me too hard (mid 50's seemed to be the high) and he tries to cast. So I decide to stay and beat on him. I get him near death, and all of a sudden he is getting healed by a Gob Mendicant. At least that is what it said on my chat, but I couldn't see the gob anywhere (if you have been in the flag room, you know what I mean--it is not big and open, but rather jagged with pillars of ice etc blocking your view). I tried to outgun the heals, but was getting nowhere, and my health was getting low. So I got po'ed and rooted this guy. I then went looking for the gob and found him behind a rock. Killed him, then killed Gresh without interruption. When it was done, I was down to 2 bubs, so he is not hard for his level. He did resist my roots and Flashes a bit, and they didn't last long when they did stick. He dropped the Pouch of Polished Jade Stones, for a quest mentioned elsewhere. On a sidenote, I ended up just leaving the zone a bit later, because I waltzed right by a bunch of green gobs and ended up getting aggroed by a priest again, then they all joined in, healing each other as I killed them. I got aggravated and left. So, in closing, green gobs may not aggro, but will many times join in when another of their group does decide to aggro. Also, Greshvoule is a barbarian, not a gob or a monster. I plan on going back, now that I have a better idea of how this zone operates. Next time I will kill everything in my way, one at a time, instead of getting mobbed. Better planning through better info. Hope this helps someone.
Heh Heh! If ya haven't figured it out yet, goblins are vile, sneaky, and intelligent creatures that will randomly attack you if you get too close to them. They usually help each other and their allies out and may just heal a fighter but not directly attack you.
