In the Plane of Time: For event information, see this quest entry. Tallon Zek drops three items from his loot table.

In the Plane of Tactics: Max hit ~1,000; does not summon; shadowsteps himself around the room. Most of his damage output is from spells. Due to the "Tallon's Balance" debuff he casts, you will need to buff resists to ~450 before being able to resist many of his spell attacks.

In the Rathe Council Chambers: A chest with loot spawns after the Zek Brothers event.

In the Sepulcher of Order: Part of the event "The Triune God" (see this quest entry for the group version and this quest entry for the raid version).

In the Plane of War: Part of the 15th anniversary raid event "The Brothers Zek" (see this quest entry for information).

If ever curious whether or not Tallon has been killed already in the earlier hours after a patch, run to his room and click the doors at the rear. If doing so ports you to the safe room along the hallway from zi/zo to the arena - he has already been killed. If by clicking on the door you receive a message that reads *The doors are held shut by magical forces* Tallon has yet to pop.

Just something I noticed while gearing up some alts.

Out of boredom.. I walked my 70 gimp ranger (am3 / eq ) up to Tallon's room.

When you stand by the south wall of his room and infusion of the faithful + autofire he only lands Tallon's Balance on you and that is negated by the infusion.
Just stay out of his hitbox (which will end up happening anyway if you hug the wall) and he will cast away at you and shadowstep about the room. Very easy fight

Easily Soloed by shaman, just make sure you have a clicker in first slot for his dispell.

I had Anguish gear back then.

i tired soloing this fellar, a 75 wizard with 468being my loweest resist unbuffed 538 selfbuffed , and self buffed.12.5khp <-- he chomped through me! being that was the first time i ever saw this guy. i was quite satified with getiting him to 64%=)_ /splat
2nd trie /splat aftr 50% on my third try my buddy had loged his cleric for the flag and had to Ch me /pout ~ hes dead and droped all/all neck w/ +3 regen int caster earring w/ spell haste V 4 specs + 1glymph + 2arrows

listen to what everyone has been saying get 450+ resist you have a 50/50 chance of resisting his little tricks once he gets that debuff on
~i donno have any vets , but if youhave em do use'em and he'll be way to easy~
the posts on get 450 resist stats~ LIES LIES people where just talking to look good~ if you buff them he'll debuff them thats what his innates do
my strat again at 468 smallest stat i had 50/50 chance of resist~ necro could esily LT off his bolt but i cant so this is what i did

i clicked on my gom and started off with a EF
then WM/WM chained for gorm
AE'd when he shadowed steped

fight took just over 9 minutes for me w/

Has to be the most one sided fight on everquest, period.
Did with Am3/Eq Ranger. Make sure all resists are 450 or higher.
What you do is go to top of the stairs next to the clicky door that brings you back to zone in and shoot arrows at him.
He doesn't summon, he will just shadow step around the room casting
his barbs. With right resists his barbs do 0 dmg.
I did /Autofire, afk'ed and watched episode of Simpsons,
came back didn't lose 1 hp entire fight according to Yalp.
And he had about 29 mins on corpse.

To be honest anything with Ranged Dps, Rangers, Wizards, Shamans any NON-Melee can solo this guy. Just use casting range and keep ur resists about 400's. He'll just port around the room and cast his barbs which won't do any dmg because you'll resist them everytime.

I tried to do this as a druid using DoTs.
It would be very easy and doable if it werent for one major problem.
I encountered one minor problem that was easily fixed. I kept getting hit by his resist debuff AE, so I would have to sit behind the stairs' wall after dotting. Secondly, the biggest problem, is that he would lose agro even though the dots were constantly kept up. This happened around 90%, he would be back to 100% in a few rounds. Not sure what to do to prevent this. It may be that the constant shooting by a ranger keeps agro and makes this strategy possible.

get either
1 GoD or better geared ranger, and ask him to solo TZ
or 2 bazaar geared ranger with ele bow and have them use infusion

drops mithril champion arrows too! not bad for ranger with endless quiver range of 150,,delay 0,,dmg 10 dmg bon 13 +3 fire

I don't care what he drops. I want him dead along with his minions. Tried him twice, killed him twice only to have most mellee dead by the end of the burn down and his minions rush in and wipe out all the casters that remain after Tallon dies. Invariably he somehow winds up making his way down the Hall to the repops. How do we control his minions. They can be mezzed, can they be charmed to help fight? Could groups 10, 11, and 12 be geared for off Tanking those mobs only? I want to finally make it to RZ for once. Any help from a successful RZ raid?

1. PAL or SK MT and ST.
2. His AEs are nasty, especially Barb of Tallon after Tallon's Balance debuff the raid. Yet, Barb of Tallon is target based with short range. Thus, except MT and ST, all other melee use range weapons only.
3. Spread out the raid, his arrows hit for 2K+.
4. Charm pets help a lot.

This is the last mob I need to finish this line but I never am on when someone takes him down. Where does he spawn, and what is the timer on repop once he's taken down? Any info will be appreciated, thanks.

I held an open raid and downed this guy tonight, the Key is handling Tallon, Good tank would be a Paladin so when he shadowsteps the pally can stun to keep aggro, Keep Tallon Facing one direction and the raid behind him to avoid the nasty AoEs, Nuke at 75% burn at 15% and spam heal the tank is the best advice i can give

I am a 58 wizard, and I TLed people out after they took him down last night. I say that THEY took him down, because he consistently resisted everything I threw at him, even lures. I attempted all three types of lures (Fire, Magic, Cold), and none worked.

You need VZ and TZ flags for EPs, I think of PoP progression as 5 "lines". Agnarr Line, RZTW Line, MM Line, Saryn Line, and Bertox Line.

--Kill Agnarr in the Bastion of Thunder.
-RZTW Line-
--Kill Maenical Behemoth in PoInnovation.
--Kill Vallon Zek, Tallon Zek, and Rallos Zek.
-MM Line-
--Do one of the trials in the Plane of Justice.
--Kill Aerin Darr in Plane of Valor.
--Do the 3 Trials in Halls of Honor.
--Kill Mithaniel Marr in Temple of Marr.
-Saryn Line-
--Do Hedge Maze event in PoNightmare.
--Kill Terris Thule in Lair of Terris Thule.
--Kill Keeper of Sorrows.
--Kill Saryn.
-Bertox Line-
--Kill Grummus in PoDisease.
--Do Caprin event in Crypt of Decay.
--Kill Bertoxxulous in Crypt of Decay.

*Note: Bastion of Thunder key is not needed to enter the Tower of Solusek Ro.
*Doing all of this will flag you for the planes of Air, Water, and Earth, If you wish to gain acess to Plane of Fire you must also kill Solusek Ro in Tower of Solusek Ro.

Actually, Bertox line is part of Saryn chain. Need to defeat both Bert and TT do be able to do preflag for Saryn.

If you can be brought into HOHb by the 85% rule, then kill MM, you don't need to kill AD.

When you can zone into HoHa by lvl 62, AD is no longer required. AD has no impact whatsoever on HoHb.

If you don't get AD, you still have to get gimped into HoHb. The 62-and-over rule doesn't apply there.

85% rule is not an option for everybody. Indeed, attempting to use it can be hazardous.

Recently an open raiding community of which I am part tried to raid Terris Thule using 85% rule. It was a disaster. Over 20 unflagged people showed up and only a few of those reported themselves as unflagged. With over 20 of 50 people stranded outside the gates, the raid was a no-go.

Personally I intend to do the entire PoP progression, even if I don't have to.

The way to do that correctly is to have everyone who is flagged zone into the target zone unraided, and then form the raid inside the zone. Once you have at least 60 people in the raid, you can send someone out to invite up to 12 piggies, who can then zone in.
