This is defiently the dragon in PoV. I've only been down there once to fight him, but that is how he looks when your rdy to fight him, including the additional mobs ringing him.

use mgb elixirs(clerics) and SotW (druids) during the fight(raid leader ill say when). have chanters tash adds and run them around(try to root because these cant be mezzed). have a very fast quick heals rotation on the MT and have all the other melee beat on it. fortunately his hp is very low and he dies quickly. other than that, get lotsa ppl...i would say 60 is bare minimum although i'm sure it's been done with less.
for resists use grm, resist gear and have a bard play his ae magic resist gear(every1 should have 350-400MR by this point...MR is the key to winning this)
on a side note..there are other ways of doing this i'm sure, i just hadnt seen any tactics posted and i wanted to give ppl an idea as to how they can go about this.
if ya dont like sumthing feel free to correct me, i dont claim this to be an ironbound strategy as strats vary from fight to fight depending on number of players, how many of each class....blah blah. and if any of my friends see this, feel free to send me a tell and laugh at me =)

We used a team of Druids, Bards, and Rangers to Kite the Golems when they activated (ever 20% of Aerin'Dar's health from what I understand) The tactic worked, but his AE was too much for our raid and failed at 13% of his life left. MR is the key, like you said, I was around 330 and was still getting my *** handed to me.

The correct effects are listed now. As a side note, I was surprised in two ways when I found the creature that actually uses Crystal Roar.
The first surprise was that although Crystal Roar is much less dangerous than Glass Roar, Aerin`Dar's older sibling in Halls of Honor, Rydda`Dar, uses it.
The second surprise was that my camp spot (North Shrine in Halls of Honor) turned out to be directly above the Dragon Trial room where Rydda`Dar is a triggered spawn. We managed to evac...barely...when a raid went in and spawned him.

Anyone have a decent tactic on this mob? Other than 100+ people zerging? Would be very much appreciated.

You only need one keyed person to get your guild into the lair. After killing AD, an elemental looking critter forms in the center of the circular area in the middle of the lair. You hail it for a temporary flag. You do not get the message that you have received a flag. Then, after you zone into HoH by clicking on the floor in the center of the round area, you get the permanent flag. I believe I have heard that it is impossible to do the quest to get the key or flag or whatever for the lair once you have killed AD and gotten flagged for HoH. So, if you only have one person in your guild with the key, and then you all get flagged by an AD kill, you are dependant on that one person to get into the lair to kill AD for loot. Of course, you usually have a few people or alts who have not been flagged who can do the key quest, not to mention new members.
We killed AD, got the temporary flag, and before we could make it permanent, the server crashed and we lost our temporary flags. Grrrrrrrrrr!!! On the plus side, now that we know how to do it, AD is going down!

Drop this guy on Drinal. About 120 or so ppl on a pickup raid. Dont worry about getting the loot, just get the flag for HoH.

Speaking of Drinal AD, Silent Tempest dropped him with 6 people. Was a fun kill =) Dropped 2 Quarterstaves.

What of the key that you get through the quest in PoV? Is that something that EVERYONE needs to do to enter AD's lair and fight him?
Pick up group with close to 80 people. We got him down to 20% then he whiped our slates.
Jimmyn those are golems that awake 2 at a time during your aerien dar fight. The Fight is fun. decent drops. also drops etheral parchments as well as spectral parchments. My guild took him down like last week, he dropped two necks for us. You hail a npc upon aerien dar's death to get flagged for halls of honor.

Are the Golem's immune to Command of Druzzil? Was wondering if they could be fed to Aerin'Dar to riposte/proc to death.

you don't receive the HoHa flag until you drop down through the floor and zone in the tunnels.
Notice his last name. Its Dar. same as Jaled'Dar and Phara'Dar. There is also another dragon in one of the Plane of Valor zones named Rydda'Dar. Coincidence?
Yeah. The 'Dar ending means that this is a dar brood dragon, basically some of the most powerful dragons ever. I believe that the Warders in the Sleeper's Tomb were all dar brood dragons before they were sealed inside.
There's also Kelorek'Dar, in Cobalt Scar.

Faydedar in Timorous Deep follows the same pattern, but without the apostrophe. Maybe he's a Dar wannabe.

I don't know if you're really in transcended or just stupid (not that the two would be mutually exclusive by any means). I'm also on tribunal, I know for a fact that EV was the first guild to kill emporer AND that trans has not killed emporer yet. Even more telling, IF trans has killed emp, why are only Comps and EV in VT? too lazy to farm shards after you've done the hardest part of the fricking quest?

Tried an open raid on this guy on our server the other night... was painful.
Was definitely a learning experience, however.
We were doing alright until people starting running out of range of the healers. And that's why we wiped. Because of "Your target is out of range" >.<
So, for anyone attempting to form up a raid on this guy, be sure people know that positioning of everyone is key. His AE is huge, impossible to avoid if you plan on contributing anything to the fight, and the adds are a pain in the *****
Going for another shot at it tonight.
Wish us luck ;P

who gives out the quest for the key? ive got all the pieces i need supposidly but i cant find the correct npc. i spoke with a few mobs in the compound near the east bank. i was told to find the master sargeant. hail him and tell him your here to aid your cause. After thats said and done the master sergeant nods in your direction. giving no further information bout the battle or the dragon. Id like to see my guild kill that dragon but with out the key its impossible.

Gotta look for the brain from a light crawler in the desert and 1 or 2 other peices then turn it in to him for the key. That about all I know.
You are thinking of the HOH access quest.
This person is asking about the AD lair key.

I have checked everywhere on www.thesafehouse.org, and there is nothing on the key quest to get in to the dragon.
