has the same prismatic dragon graphic that the legendary kerafyrm the sleeper had. thought prismatic dragons were supposed to be ub3r, but this guy is a pushover.
Easily done with 24 toons on Bertox. Mostly PoP geared, far far from elemental or qvic or time... Tank was about a 13k buffed tank...didnt have any probs being a punching bag.... infusion vet award helps.. but fear can still land on you even with it.
As of this date, I have NOT killed AD. HOWEVER, I HAVE done the HoH trials, AND I HAVE killed LMM. As long as your raid has people that are HoHb flagged, you can be piggy-backed into the zone and complete the trials. Once you complete the trials, you CAN proceed toward the LMM fight without killing AD and you CAN still get the flag. But if you want to complete the planar progression, you NEED to do the AD event.
oh easy........most of PoP can be one grouped, only things I would see having a problem with is Rathe Council Coirnav Xeg RZtW and some(not all though) of the time gods. I've done most of lower tier and Fenny with 1-2 groups(one group of core players and boxing our alts)
Also easily taken down by Deadly Fury on Luclin(Veeshan) with 36. Our tank was Bagar, a 70 pally with 2.0 epic. We rocked his sauce on the first try and I won the Honorary Amulet he dropped. He also dropped the Honorary Longsword.
Very easy fight, most people popped Infusion of the Faithful on the pull and although I was feared twice at first I resisted everything else he threw at us. Dropped more than easily. Less than 5 minute fight.
Also, one of our raiders pulled the guards that now reside outside of the entrance and we were able to drop both of them with only two casualties, they had about the same amount of HP as AD I noticed, slightly more I'd say. One dropped Eye of Yelios or something.
Down today... Everyone but 2 lone chars survived... And the whole raid goes haywire and got into chaos soon after that... Needless to say, no flag or loot.. Ad's corpse decayed before we had a chance, sum1 snuck a peek a loot tho, 1hs and mantle dropped.......

have someone kite the adds for the most part, have clerics cast MGB HoT to counteract the DoT part of the fear spell
also just for back up due to the golumns have at least 2 65 paladains just sit around and root/stun them -------------------------------------------- Zama McDeath<Lords Of Prophecy> 66 Shaman on Sol Ro "gimped in mind not skill"
Just killed AD tonight in open raid on Fennin Ro and same thing happened, no body hailed and guy poofed after a few minutes so nobody got flag! Fkin awesome
September 19th 11:30pm 2004, AD was taken down on TP. The Planar projection was up for less than 7 minutes and NOONE got a flag before it depopped. He didnt fall through the floor. Noone looked at AD's body before it depopped. Just pure and simple screwed out of flagged'ness. Someone at Sony should be castrated for this. 248 player hours wasted (62 players x 4 hours from open raid recruitment till the kill) When you drop this guy just Zerg to the PP and get yourself flagged because he will depop SOON. and if you die... sorry about your luck but you aint gettin flagged.
Just have your raid force set a bit more of a priority on getting the flag, plenty of people die on raids and get their hail in. Of course, there are a lot of raids that decide that nobody should hail until someone says, and then it just depops.
If this was your first experience with this, expect to be very dissapointed with the rest of Planar Progression.
I love pics of dead things I guess, kinda sick when I think on it ... but anyhow, here is another pic of AD down: http://img8.photobucket.com/albums/v26/ErikVKing/With_a_DEAD_Aerin_Dar.jpg
I just did a successful raid and killed AD. I hailed the PP but was unaware that you had to enter HoH through the tunnel. I gated and wasnt able to get back in.
Is it possible to zone into HoH from PoT and still get the flag or do I need to join another AD raid and zone into HoH from there?
You will either need to to the raid again or at least follow one in.
Also note that since you can get into HoH at lvl 62, you do not have to take on AD for planar progression anymore. However, if you want your idol to be upgraded, you either have to take out AD or do the alternate access quest.
The Planar Progression quest (to get to the elementals and beyond) does require you to kill AD. If you just wish to fight in HoH, then levelling to 62 is fine.
There's also a post further up from here that says you do not need to use that portal to complete the flag. If this is true, then the reason I could see why Diggorus is unable to enter HoH would be that he is below level 62 and has not yet completed a PoJ trial (another requirement for access to HoH).
The first time I did AD, rangers and druids were assigned to kite the golems. This was way back about a month after PoP came out. I remember that the kiters were not very effective, and the zerg force basically nuked AD dead while golems wreaked havok on the raid. I was lucky to get my flag the first time, on an open raid back when people were still mostly level 55-61. I did the encounter a couple times for fun right after that, with the same strategy - rangers and druids kite the golems. This never really seemed to work right.
Fast forward over a year later. We were doing some backflagging and I was assigned to be in the kite group. The instructions were to simply root the golems using level 65 pally root. Me and another pally sat back and kept the entire golem squad rooted. Two rangers snared the golems once we rooted them. It was surprisingly simple. Golems stayed rooted the entire duration of the fight. None of them resisted a single root or stun. We didn't get hit with any AoE from AD, nor did fear ever reach us.
So basically, now that everyone is level 65 and only does this raid to flag twinks or latecomers, don't bother to kite the golems. Get a pair of 65 pallies to root them in place, with a ranger or druid to run behind snaring them once rooted.

I was in a raid that eventually killed AD after 3 failed attempts. Originally the plan was to kite the golems, then it was to have a section of the raid there to specifically kill them.
Each failed attempt was not due to the golems though, it was due to the AoE DoT component of the Glass Roar fear spell. As with most raids, the decision in each case was to put all the healers on a chain for the MA. Then, as soon as the fear goes off, all of the DPS (and the CH cycle) very quietly....without any fuss....slowly....dies.
What interests me though was that the two times I was in groups to kite/kill the golems, I didn't get feared. Now it could be either that AD sometimes doesn't cast it, or it could me the range doesn't extend the pit, or that only players from the front are affected (my theory). In both cases, the wizzies and the rangers were the last standing though, which suggests it's a range issue.
