While skipin down to lower guk. I ran across this LIGHT BLUE con ( 52 necro ) just past the room with frog priest ( chanter quest from sol ro ) and the Mage Frog ( I forget what he is called ). Zoned to lower guk. Camped and came here for info. From what I have read from all you other Ya Hoo's I would ponder a wild guess he is a random pop in both Upper and lower guk. Sorry that is all the info I have. Good luck on your quest.

Anyone know any tricks to raise faction faster for UGuk, besides the killing of thousands of defenceless undead frogloks in LGuk?

Other then the Froglok Ghouls of LGuK I have located 2 other sources of faction raising with the Frogloks of GuK. Are they a waist of time... probably... but if your in the zone... might as well kill the mob and take the faction increase.
In Tox Forest there is a troll shaman his name is Rungupp Level 4-5 ... he gives a faction increase to UGuK
and
the Grobb Shadow Knight Guild Master ---> Hukulk
Level 61, provides a faction increase to UGuK
Faction decreases for the 2 mobs listed above... think about it... their Trolls.

Can verify from exp. that back in the day Rungupp gave that + faction hit. (Before Kunark existed / was discovered / expansion released)
New faction hits in Sebilis off the Kunark frogloks, down with Trakkanon, Frogloks of Kunark. (which doesn't matter) Up with Frogloks of Guk, and another Frog group. Maybe the new PC guys. Seb is prolly the best way to get faction up, but it's a long jaunt back to UG to check it, being 3 continents away :(

Ok I'm hearing from some reliable sources that the old frog will not speak with you until you are of warmly faction. This quest is said to be very involved and high level. Reward I am told is an all/all helm with wood elf illusion on it.

Well I gave the froglok the book I acquired while sneaking behind him and playing faction song on him and he still says 'I will do nothing to aid beings like you.' So.. faction needs to be increased higher than indifferently by killing undead in lguk.

Ok, I found this froglok while wandering through uguk. I killed him as well and it dropped nothing. Intrigued I did a follow up of Apophis' findings and this is the info in detail:
The gnome near the Great Library in PoK is named Sage Balic. He is in the tower straight out from the main entrance to the great library. The conversation is as follows:
You say, 'Hail, Sage Balic'
Sage Balic says 'Greetings friend. Welcome to my place of private contemplation. I relax here and leaf through my old studies, admiring at creations from the past made by races we thought would never amount to anything. My favorite tomes to look at are those that deal with Frogloks.'
You say, 'What Frogloks'
Sage Balic says 'A surprising race to study is the Frogloks of Antonica. While we may think their magic was weak, it was at one time so powerful the Gods reached down and smote them for their creations. Balls of energy that made life into magic! Their High Enchanter even made a mask that transformed the wearer into a Teir`Dal! Quite an interesting race worthy of some study if you ask me, someday I shall like to go and see these frogloks, especially to learn more knowledge of the magical mask.'
You say, 'What Magical Mask'
Sage Balic blinks and looks at you. 'I have told you all that I know, for more knowledge you will need to seek its creator. The enchanter is more than likely very old, the mask having been made at the height of the power of the Froglok race. Here take this picture book to aid you in your quest.' Sage Balic hands you a book.
"Balls of energy that made life into magic!" is referring to the manastone that no longer drops.
This magical mask is the Mask of Deception that drops of the froglok assassin in lguk.
Now, I did try to talk to the old froglok when I first saw him but he would not speak with me even while sneaking behind and playing faction song.
I'm going to try and give him this picturebook but I doubt anything will prevail from that... anyway keep us updated folks!

I was camping Raster for my Robe of the Lost Circle (all you non-monks out there, think 200+ hour rare spawn) and on the way out of Upper Guk, I run into this mob. He charmed, rooted and dotted me until I was dead three yards from the zone line to Innothule. He conned blue to be at 45 and owned me. Very frustrating, next time I see him, it's curtains for him.

Aye i feel your pain brother and vengence was mine not knowing i would want to be this guys friend. Every trip to raster after he wiped my group the early attemps at raster got him killed after i was high enough to solo raster camp he became my target of revenge

Old Froglok is an enchanter i believe, charmed my warrior, although he did not have a pet.
Droped nothing but a few plat for me.

Ran across the Old Froglok - and was blue to a level 36, so he must spawn less than 40. However, he seems somewhat underconned.
