Got him down with only 18 people on Mithaneal Marr, average lvl was 61, i only 56. 5 peeps died near the beginning but somehow we finished it ! I forgot to roll on the shield drop(wasnt paying attention) so my loss!
Took him down on T Marr yesterday with just over 40 people. However, chanter mezzed him during fight, so he wouldn't give us flags.
If you mez him during the fight, and he's mezzed at the dragon's death, then you won't get the flag, so any that go after him, be careful about mezzing the gnome.
Our guild Pledge of Ancients on Sol Ro server downed this tin can mob and below are some infos on him.
Can be slowed - his dps not slowed is crazy but with him slowed melee damage wasn't concerning me much. Get Malos landed with some bard help.
Not perma rooted - This guy isn't perma rooted. Before we took him out I always thought this guy would be reading some of the posts here. Imagine my surprise as MT when this mob turned its back on me to chase after clerics with his nasty AE snare on me.
Not belly cast - You do not have to be in melee range to nuke or land any spells on him. Our mage was nuking him until mana dried out from miles away. (Was able to avoid his AE as well still landing nukes)
Depending on how well you are equiped you can go anywhere from 2 to 5 clerics on this guy. 1MT is plenty, and all other healer type can focus on other ppl who will get burned on his AE. Casters can nuke him from start to end provided your MT has firm aggro.
alright, it's been established that this mechanical dragon can be slowed, and that he hits pretty hard, and his AE is projected forward of him. but does this guy summon??? i read every post here, and didnt see any reference. pls respond asap.

Just did Xanamech on 4/3. We did this dragon with 29 people average level 61. Was a fun battle with the AE. We had 2 65 warriors, 4 clerics and a mix of other classes. I had the shamans chain slow right away till it dropped. I WS tanked the dragon in them meantime and had the warrior take over aggro once Xanamech was slowed. Fight was about 2 minutes didn't really time it. Lost about 4-5 people during the fight but won and got the lewtz =)
Took him down on 3/6 with about 43 peeps, was quite easy infact was probably overkill. Only had one death, which was a ranger. Got slow in the first 10 sec of fight so pretty easy if you have the force.
tried him today with just under 3 groups of people. Had 2 Clerics, 1 Druid, 3 Shammies for healing. Ended up wiping at 13% when a darn Archaic Model repop and our Kiter got snare *shrug*
However this guy is pretty cake, considering our 3 groups lacked alot of DPS.
The dragon is slowable which makes him a hell of a lot easier. Once you get him slowed he isnt much of a challenge, pre-slow however he can do some decent damage if your not paying attention.
His AE's are more annoying than dangerous. His Snare AE really does slow you down but is no big deal. His Stun is just annoying to casters but is pretty easily resisted if you have a bard. And his AE Nuke doesnt proc overly frequently so it isnt much of a threat.
First to confirm previously provided information/guesses. Yes, he can be slowed. Disease Based Slow works just fine. How to do this properly during a Raid is outlined below. The Stun AE only impacts those within range of the front of Xanamech, not behind, so station the healers to the rear of the dragon and there will be no problems.
We has 27 people on our Raid on Xanamech, average level of 62 (we had several low 50s along with us for this one). It could easily be done with 3 full groups of adequate level and group composition (I would suggest a minimum of 3 Clerics) using the same tactics listed below.
First, your Primary Tank grabs aggro and engages blowing Furious. This is 12 seconds of immunity from melee attacks through Auto Riposte. Incite should be blown at this point as well. At 6 second point, enough aggro should be generated that the Shamans can begin casting Malos/Slow. The Disease Based slows are the only ones that stand a chance of landing, so multiple Shamans casting wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
Assuming Slow lands, the encounter is an absolute cakewalk. Healers just keep up with the now Defensive Main Tank, and there should be no problems at all. The Procs are meaningless to any adequate Main Tank, whose sole interest is in maintaining aggro (easily done by throwing out the occasional Incite). With a slowed Xanamech, the Healers don't even need to worry about Chain Healing, Shamans can spot heal while the Clerics Complete Heal is waiting to go off.
If Slow doesn't land, the encounter is a little bit harder as Xanamech has a pretty nasty melee capacity when combined with his spell effects. Healers have to be on the ball in the event he doesn't get slowed or you might wind up going through a few tanks.
Magic based slows will land on Xana. You need to have Malos, tash, and Occlusion of Sound all in, but with those three debuffs in, magic based slows will land fairly easily.
We tried to slow him once without tash. 15 tries, couldn't do it, even with Malos.

Stand behind him, if you are a healer. Other wise within the first 2 sec you will get an AE stun/slow that comes out in a cone shape from him and not be able to heal the MT. This was with extended Range Item and the Maximum range from MT. If I had only of had time to come read about the raid before hand and could have shared what I know now with others I don't think we would have wiped. He also summoned I got to casting quick heals on 3rd tank after the stun/slow AE and ADD attacked I was summoned and killed really fast. He also does something that messes with your view you can't see in first person anymore just before he summons you.
Took out this guy last night and got a flag and was wondering what I was flaged for any info appreciated thanks and also is there a sight I can go to that talsk about flags and the zones or mobs it opens up for me
He's very resistant. Try casting Malos and Malicious Decay, and chain slow with both Turgur's and Cloud of Grummus until one sticks. Once they do, he'll go down fairly easily so long as tank stays alive.
slow does land.. I didnt think it did either because I had been on 3 xanamech raids and no shaman could get it to stick, but my 65 shaman did land turgurs insects on him. He's not immune, just incredibly resistant.
Took this guy down twice in 2 days. Avg lvl was 62 and we had about 24 peeps on the raid. Very fast and easy. I saw many posts about CH rotations. We spammed the MT with Supernal Remedy ( 1.5k heal, 1.8 sec cast time ). We had 3 clerics and the reason this is done vs CH is beause the spell has a long range and you can avoid 2 of his 3 AOE spells this way. BTW he dropped the ring the first time and the driveshaft and choker ths second time.
Before Saturday night there were only 4 people in our alliance with the PoI Dragon factory flag. We added 45 people to that list Saturday.
48 people (3 were already flagged) avg level 62 - two deaths with one of those being the sacraficial Pally laying on hands the MA before the slow so I don't count him. :)
The PoI Dragon gives out 72 flags. And there was no increase in the charm.
FYI - I lead this raid. :) From zone in until dead dragon was 70 minutes.
11/29/03 Killed tonight on Mith Marr server... I was MT 65 ogre war with 4300hp 1200ac unbuff.
Key things are... Have good cheal chain started right away I had 6 cleric chain. Easy to slow, get slowed early.
The mob starts neutral and non targetable like behemoth, he doesn't pop until gnome walks all the way up to him and hits him. At this point your MT should defensive disc.
Do NOT mez gnome during fight, this will cause a bug and no one will get factory flag.
afaik, you can not mez/blur the gnome in xana's room. you have to do it before he goes through the door the xana's chamber. This is the way we have always done it and it works every time. just keep a chanter on gnome duty and he can mez/blur and walk the gnome forward as your raid kills.
You can mez and blur the gnome in Xanamech's room and still be flagged. Just make sure by the end of the fight the gnome is back on the dragon.
Theres two ways of doing this, First mez the gnome then: A.) Have your chanter on gnome walking duty cast dispell on the gnome, have him walk over to the dragon, and let the chanter die. Or B.) Get a group of chanters, have one dispell when the fights dieng down, and have the rest mem blur all at once before the chaneter bites it.
The gnome wont get his hands very dirty and you'll still get flags.
Last night was my first encounter with Xanamech Nezmirthafen. Tactics we used were pretty simple; had 3 main tanks with an order established for them. Healers did their job. I don't remember seeing a msg stating he was slowed but I am assuming he was because our main tank never fell. His DR is quite high. He is fulnerable to the boiling blood line of necro dots. His MR is not very high. Was able to tap him with ease. What worried me was his AOEs which I was told were deadly. They landed for at most 800dmg and thru the entire encounter may of landed on me 3 times.
Casters stayed behind him and tanks in front. Was a pretty easy victory. Gnome died though. Didn't get flagged :[
To those of you bragging about how easy he is. Thanks for nothing. Kudos to you for your uberness and a generous helping of BenGay for those muscle aches from patting yourselves on the back. For those few of you who actually offered some advice on how to take this mob, a very sincere thank you.
