Took down 2 of these tonight as MT for a full group using my 61 beasty. The first dropped a parchment and the second dropped me. Yes, the rats seem to like these skeeters and will follow them into battle. Didnt even see the rats till they had eaten our cleric. Skeeter sent misc toons in random directions just long enough to be long enough.:)

Still worth the parch, but definately underconned.

Killed a couple of these earlier today and also died to one.I was duoing with a 56 Bst and myself a 62 Mage. He said they conned dark red to him but he never got the chance to attack them as every time I pulled I got an add in the process that he would take off me so Me and my pet could kill it. As they said before it lands a 550DD and doubles in the 450 range and also summon These guys don't play around though I believe that it is worth it cause I got an Ethereal Parchment off one. I would say your best strategy for a duo would be a shammy/ mage at 61-65. The xp is awesome but they eat mana like crazy.

Soloed one of these the other night, definately necro, tough fight, had to chain chloroblasts for a minute to keep from dropping down too low while warder was beating on it. 1 Sha's Advantage, 2 out of 3 Scorpion Venoms, and a gaggle of Blizzard Blasts landed with little difficulty. It was only able to tap me one time, and it feared me 1 time.

I must say for it's lvl 59 to 60 and sounds like there might be a lvl 58 version of it can't say for sure it coned yellow and red to a 57, not that hard a fight :) True I'm a lvl 65 BST that has a magic resist of 170 when I fight them, but think about it there was a time it took a grp to kill a lvl 60 mob, actually there was a time it took more then one grp to kill a lvl 60 mob. I personaly don't believ the exp is worth killing it unless you can kill it fast or stun it enough so it can't do too much dmg :) Killing the rats is close to the same exp and are easier to kill :) I don't know if they still drop parchment if so they would be worth killing, heard they didn't anymore and I haven't seen one though I tend to avoid them :) When they summon you sometimes you get adds that is the biggest problem I have had with them. I died once do to the fact I thought I could get a heal off in time on my pet I just missed took off running ::summon summon suommon summon root :: like 3 mobs on me death. One thing I don't recall reading is the fact they dispell, first time I fought them my resist wasn't too high and the bugger dispelled my fresh KEI and Virtue. Get resist up make sure no rats near pulling path and stun often not too hard to kill :)

You definitely did better than me. I'm a level 61 Beastlord with average equipment.

But this is yet another one of Verants fake /con's in the game. This godlike creature was blue to me, but I literally did not get ONE hit on him. He had me frozen, stunned the entire time he beat on me. And my pet was no help.

Verant/Sony really needs to change their /con rating system in the game. I also should have read here first, which I usually do, but didn't this time.

Mob info !

I had a brief encounter with one of these flys and heres a little I found out:

They DO summon
They are 59 or 60
They cast Necro type spells - 550DD and snare is a favorite.
They double for around 450

Charm killing!

I have been making great XP charming a diseased rat, then loading it up on buffs and sicking it on these guys. They don't seem to have too many HPs. Throwing a couple of dots on them helps out a bit. Was even able to land Ro line on them so they aren't very resistent to fire or magic. Making oodles XP and taking down level 60 mobs with my 56 druid. Hope this helps.

Lvl 61 sk lvl 61 cleric and lvl 60 chanty were doing the solo corner in pon, having a moderately good time beating on rats and pests, grabbed a few of these, these are not for the faint of heart or fizzlers out there, because in a small group such as we had a fizzle on a heal or a bad tap could spell doom, all in all cleric said it took about 30% of the clerics mana, and are on the lines of the wandering ogre quest giver in xp, but these are much more difficult cause they REALLY poor on the dots i had 2 or 3 on most of the time.. DPS seemed to be a bigger problem for us tho then adds or keeping alive. And glamour of kin didnt work on any of the ones we dispatched.. mean lil buggers
Great exp, some tactics

We took the center camp by waterfall last night, and these dudes were a blast and great exp!

Group was me (60 SHD, MA), 60 Necro, 60 Shammy, 61 Ranger, 59 Chanter, and 57 Shammy (don't need no stinkin' Cleric!)

All pets were up (man 2 wolves and a spectre - that's power!).

I could cast-pull the 59's (all were 59 or 60, the pests appeared to be about 57/58) using a spear or Heart Flutter, but it was more reliable to bow-pull because the 60's didn't want to budge when I cast on them - I even tried some level 60 DoTs and it was iffy.

Bow pulling also seemed to get them closer to camp before they stopped (not always just the 60's seemed to be a random decision) and started a cast-dueling battle with me -- it worked best to stay in camp until they were fairly close, because you WILL get rooted, dotted, and have Darkness cast on you. This happened, though not as fast, even after I fiddled with equipment/buffs and took resists to 125+

OK Once in camp (or close), if the MA has aggro they will take *most* of the damage, though there was a bit of AE "tormenting" going on. Yah they summon, but with a SHD MA (likely pali) it doesn't matter - summon the MA? Duhhh Verant.

Oh yah - max hit I saw from them was 435 OUCH and I have like 1300+ AC buffed.

Watch out for the usual type wrinkle - once in a great while they Mezz (do Necros get Mezz? Geeeesh)

Anyway once the "engagement" has begun (assist called) I would Darkness/snare it, start Nuking myself and wail away and by then everyone else could whomp on it pretty well. My Dooming - level spell stuck 90% of the time, which makes sense since we were the same level? Most of the DoTs (Necro) were worn off by the end of the fight, or could be wiped with a cure disease.

Timing - unfortunately I did not time spawns, but thre is plenty of time to kill the 5 Diseased and the one or two handly Pests in a cycle before repops - we did the cycle for like 3 hours. I nver got a double pull of the skeeters, so that is eminantly doable by a level 60 puller.

THE PROBLEM : Rat infestations. There were certainly the normal adds (Mr Rat has to HELP his mosquito buddy) but also once in a while (maybe to discourage peeps from camping right in the middle?) we would get a full-upp infestation. Seeming out of nowhere we'd have like 5 level 50 rats nipping at us. You chanter has to be ALERT for this, and should have one helaer assigned to watch theier health while they are dazzling the crowds for the MA to break one at a time. Otherwise it can get UGLY.

All in all, a great fun mob to play with....all teh spells keep you guessing, and it took a while to figure out how to pull them cleanly (Hey I only got rooted too far away and died once!).

So have fun, and I would suggest a team comparable in power to ours because of the adds.

This mob appears to be a necro class. He hit me with all kinds of high end necro spells
which almost killed me even after the mob was down. We had a 55 cleric with us and it
took about 80% of her mana to keep the tank (me) alive during and after the fight.
I was low on mana so if I could of stunned him a little more maybe it wouldn't of gotten
so many spells of (/shrug). Also dropped a no drop skeeter wing.
