Regular experience. Doesn't matter what level the mob is, as long as you get experience from it, it will give you a set % towards your evolving item. So find the lowest level easiest mobs that give experience to kill and slaughter away.

My 53 monk has cloak i grouped him with my 80sk started illing trains of blues in nadox didnt move cloak at all in atleast 70mobs... half with aa exp on (no aa exp was gained on monk) and half without norm exp on ...

Just decided to get a few of these for myself and some alts .. All named mobs easily taken down by me and a buddy each 2 boxing ... myself on 70/1531 Ranger + 70/450 + Shammy, my buddy on 70/900ish Druid + 70/500ish Chanter. I do have a question about these evolving items .. Do you need to evolve to 100 % before they reach their next evolution level ? Like 1 >> 2 = 100 % evolution, and 2 >> 3 = another 100 % evolution ? THX.
Ok I am level 57 and have all 5 marks for this cloak although, I can't actually get the quest as of yet, the cloak says Recommended 65 not required. Can you turn in these marks and get the cloak early and use it are do I hafta wait until 60 ish to get it.

Anyone getting this item resently discovered any specific way to evolve this fast?
like, killing X ammount of Dark Blues = what percent?
or Killing yellow and red mobs evolves it faster?

Well after the nerf. You will need to get around 40 AAs to evolve the cloak from level 1 to 3. Camped various times in RSS and noticed that every 1 to 2 pyrilens death is a 1% for the cloak while doing 90% Exp for AA.

My cloak went from 76%into lvl 2 to 23%into lvl 1 after the patch, pretty huge downgrade there, surely the amount of exp needed wasnt raised that much was it?
Took me 13hours of killing in Veksar to go from lvl 1 to lvl 3. I was killing everything past the goblins to the shops with a highborn commander as a charmed pet. Hope this helps.

If i put an aug on this back when it evolves. Does the aug move to the new upgrade back??
Yup, but if you are worried just wait. Someone in gild just earlier was saying that it only tookhim a day to get it to lvl 2. I am sure in a week it will be maxed for sure. So wait til then to aug if you dont want to risk it but I think this falls under the same lines as recommended gear. Your aug stays with the item when you cross a certain lvl and the stats go up.

this is the result of the quests given by the Spirit Hunters (Elijo and Azmaro) in Arcstone. I believe they have changed how it worked since I completed it.
From the last patch message:
- Collapsed all of the missions on Spirit Hunter Elijo into one mission: Mark of the Spirits. Any previously collected spirit marks can still be turned into Spirit Hunter Elijo for task credit.
You gain essences by killing the elemental spirits in the zone - Xanzerok, the Earth Root - Skysmoke, Harbinger of Oroshar - Okahn, Hound of Druzzil - Sundersky, The Sire of Storms - Manifestation of Ravenglass.

One big change to this quest. Initially when the expansion came out, killing each elemental spirit gave everyone in the raid a spirit mark you need to turn back in to Spirit Hunter Elijo. Since the last patch, each spirit only drops 3 spirit marks. So, theoretically, only 3 people each from the raid can get this cloak, less if you random each mark separately.
Since you need about 2-3 regular groups minimum to kill these mob safely, you will need to kill each spirits several times over for everyone to get the cloak. FYI.

This quest can be done with one group or less. I was with some friends of mine (70war, 70clr, and 70bard) and we did them all with just that. Of course, they all have max AA.

Did they also change the difficulty of the encounters?
We had no trouble killing them with a partial group of level 70 DON/DOD equipped people. Fights were a bit long, but the damage was easily manageable.

Got the Sundersky, The Sire of Storms piece that was rotting from a Shaman / SK anguish who took it out, so could probably have done that aswell.

If they were hard before, I would contend that the encounter quest mobs have been nerfed in difficulty some. I did this with 1 group total (myself included) in about an hour or so. Took an hour because we were battling for spawns with another group. Definitely worth the effort to get as there isn't much that is better than this which you can obtain without raiding. I noticed this seems to be the trend with a lot of DoD/DoN/PoR but that is a rant for another post (I just came back about a month ago now from a 2yr hiatus).
