Falco Is God is on the right track (great name by the way) -- i just had a GM drop in on me in the game for another matter, and i asked him about the shard. He said it is for a special mercenary, once we find the other two pieces. But he didn't know WHERE to look for the other pieces, though....

Well it has a little picture that says 2/3 on the loot card for Claw of the Fallen Dragon, and in that picture is what looks like an armored merc or illusion or pet / familiar that you probably can get once u have all 3 of these.

Has anyone figured out what this is for yet, i got two of them in a wrapped ornament claim but can't seem to find any info on what they are for except for the three pieces part.

if you right click it has some lore ... says that it's one of three and look for the other two. guess no one will know what it's for until then.
