I was searching thru my bank in pok and whole screen shook...I expected to feel the shaking like from an earthquake and when I realized that I didn't, I ooc'd in pok about it and someone said it was this quest and they were surprised anyone else saw it.. at first I thought it was kinda cool , but then I got thinking and decided to look this quest up to see what it was all about....from what I've read below I thought this was supposed to be an instanced thing?
I am guessing we are going to have, and probably already have had a bunch of PTSD military vets diving for cover (if they aren't participating in that quest and know what to expect and when)
IMO seems pretty stupid if you ask me to put someone thru this unexpected situation that has no idea its going to happen, that already has enough demons to fight without adding more to it, (or refreshing it,) in a game and I know there are a lot of military AD and vets that play.
There ought to at least be a zone wide emote or something forewarning people to try to alleviate some of the trauma this can and likely will cause.
I know my rant will likely drive others to flame and rant against me or what I've said about this, but the reason behind my post is that in RL I have 2 buddies I have known for many, many years --- (1 was the driver & other 1 was the passenger)--- that about drove off into a ditch because a bottle rocket firework went off in the area they were driving by making them both dive for cover after they came back because of PTSD, so I know second hand how little ( by our standards ) that it can take sometimes for vets' PTSD to be set off. Thankfully they weren't so totally thrown off that they caused an accident and so neither was physically harmed, nor anyone else, but it did do harm to them for the short term mentally. I think the developers really should take into consideration, regardless how mundane the event might have been to those who do not deal with this problem day in and day out, the possibility of causing a traumatic event for their paying ( and FTP ) customers when they set this stuff up is all I'm saying.
ok /rant off
