EQ has somehow evolved into pseudo-reality for way too many of you. Step back, take a breath and look out the window. The 3D models outside use unlimited polygons and animals animate with endless unique frames.

Everyone. Yes, EVERYONE should roll on all items that are not NO DROP on open raids. NBG does not apply except on guild raids.

All casters should roll on melee items and all melee should roll on caster items.

Casters NEED good melee items to sell for suitable upgrades to their caster equipment. Likewise, melee NEED good caster items to sell for suitable upgrades to their melee equipment.

To exclude a caster from a melee item roll is GREED on the melee players' part. To exclude a melee from a caster item roll is GREED on the caster players' part.

Stop the whining and debating. Go level up, join a guild and raid with them if you want to use NBG rules.

This dropped off of one of the dark elves involved in the rogue epic in Kithicor today. I'm sure it's extremely rare from them, but it's on the loot table. We also got an Argent Defender (the 33/49 one).

I can't believe the crock I'm reading.

First of all I have a 50+ Cleric, Magician and Monk. I just wanted to get the credentials out of the way first.

1: Clerics.
Yes, Clerics DO spend a lot of PP's on Peridots. However if *YOU* don't tell your group that, its *YOUR* fault. Assuming your group knows of your costs of symboling without knowing for certain is preparing to make an *** of yourself. If they won't accomodate your costs use Pinzarn's and leave it at that. The important thing is that *YOU* make sure they understand the options without making the decision for them. To cast symbol on your group EXPECTING to be compensated without requesting it/giving them the option to NOT get symbolled is self-centered. Just like wanting to roll on an item that you are not going to USE.

2: Int casters/Druids/Shaman.
Yes, there is more melee gear than caster gear. Because THEY NEED IT! They don't have a book which they can open up and just choose their weapons for the day.

Hmm... I died. I'll just open my book up and pick up this sword and this mace and head back to my body.

-OR-

Alright! I made Level 56! I get a great new Area of Effect Halberd! Plus a new Set of Armor!

They NEED their gear like we (Just for clarification my Mage is my primary) NEED our spells.

-----

Stop looking at *YOUR* immediate needs and look at a broader picture.

You see, I prefer to call it Usability Before Profitability. Its a simply philosophy of treating all drops as if they were No Drops. If I can't use it, I'll pass on it. I don't treat it as vendorite until *EVERYONE* who participated in killing the mob that dropped it passes on it, be it group or raid.

Why? Because when someone who can USE the drop gets it they become more effective in doing their duty in that group or raid and every subsequent group or raid. And it usually tends to be immediately effective as opposed to just sitting in the bottom of a bag waiting for a trip to the Bazaar.

Placing a PP value on an item before any other consideration is greedy. That's the nature of Greed. Greed="How much can I make from this". Demanding an opportunity to cash in on something someone else can make better, more efficient, immediate, and/or longer lasting USE of it is greedy. "I don't care what someone else can do with this, because I can make some money/trade this for something I can use" is Greedy. It is Self-Centered and its unjustifiable.

Saying that *YOU* spend a lot of peridots makes *YOUR* need more important than anyone else's is self-centered. If you didn't Symbol/Rune/Etc, your job as the groups life preserver becomes more difficult so *YOU* benefit from the peridot usage too, not just the people you Symbol/Rune/Etc. It makes your CH more efficient, it makes your MT/MA survive longer so that the mobs don't come running after you over their corpse. Stop focusing on *YOUR* desires, *YOUR* needs, and *YOUR* greed. If you do your part right, the raid/group works smoother, easier and has a better chance of coming out on top, which is the whole point of grouping/raiding in the first place.

And where would the Int-caster/Druid/Shaman be without the MT/MA to center the aggro, take the damage and pray they don't have a sleepy healer behind them. Where would your haste spell go? What would keep the mob from killing in a heartbeat after Ice Comet/Splurt? When Snare and Root break?

And if you're a tank reading this and going 'Right on!" don't ask to roll on the spell drops, or the int/FT drops. The same applies to you.

In closing, when you are in a group, everyone's needs are equal. If you are spending money, symboling, runing, etc make sure the group knows. Don't decide for them. If something drops that someone says they can use, let them, even if they just want to take it to sell in the Bazaar. That's their bad decision, not yours nor does it give you the right to do the same to others. A group is formed for the same reason all the time. Because it accomplishes something a single person could not. Stop focusing on the single person (YOURSELF) and start focusing on the group.

Just an FYI. I play in Seb alot and most times gems are by alphabetical order. I try to suggest the cleric gets 2 on thier turn. This is a good way to help clerics cover costs for symbol spells. Everyone rolls on everything. I had a chance tp roll on ODS, if I had won Id have sold it. Why? To buy stuff for solstice earring. I would have had 6k left over. buy a JBB, maybe a better piercer (spine chill now), and some money left over to work on alchemy or shroom veil. Is this greed? Buying all these items would WAY out benefit the ODS. I have to say that everyone needs to roll on everything. You will find people who pass on lesser drops. But clerics need to remind groups about cost of symbol spells. I say use my suggestion from above.

All sounds good, for guild groups that is, or among friends. What I've found out is that pickup groups are strangers. Strangers in general are unreliable, there's a lot of scamming and backbiting going on here. With how easy it is to get a character to level 50, why not make a warrior and never use any haste. Then you could get all the uber haste drops for yourself as NBG and make a killing. Of course this is the worst scenario, but until I know someone they're not getting something under the pretense of "NGB". If a caster wants to roll against them, by all means let them. If a monk wants to roll against a caster for froggy robe or gold chitin bracer, both of which happened to me, let them. So that specific item would improve your character, possibly. You may just go sell it yourself to twink that level 6 monk.

What I'm getting at is in the normal everyday pickup group NBG is the rationalized way of greed.

If that's all you do is pickup groups, and you don't have a guild or friends to help you get stuff without rolling against someone who wants to sell it to improve their character, then this isn't the game for you. All of Everquest revolves around allies and friends. It's how you succeed in this game and get what you want, and what your friends want.

Yes, pickup groups tend to be made of strangers. Until you've spent some time with them. I don't know about you but I tend to hunt some areas and get to know the people I'm grouping with. I learn who to avoid grouping with and who to trust. If I'm wrong in trusting someone that's my mistake and I should learn from it, not use that mistake a reason to start abusing the trust of others, nor a reason to not give others the option to trust you or be trusted.

What I'm getting at is in the normal everyday pickup group NBG *CAN* be a rationalized form of Greed. But don't make that decision for others. If you don't trust them they can never get to trust you.

If someone does do that, hopefully you'll remember that they already got the haste drop yesterday or last week or whatever.

And you even made the decision of what I am or should be getting out of this game. Tsk.

Ok, there's a lot of junk on this post that no one really cares about... who cares if people loot it NBG or not, every group is different.

The belt is obviously good for many reasons, mainly the haste and the HP boosts. The Runebranded Girdle gives a confirmed 27% haste bonus which is better than FBSS and SoDB.

Belt is pretty rare and drops off Froglok Krup Knights and Froglok Krup Shaman in OS.

Excellent reply. I just bought this to upgrade my Shadowy Assasic Belt - only 1% Haste upgarde but much better remaining stats.

The only thing I can glean from all of the insanity above is that this item is apparantly something of merit or people wouldn't be so all fired anxious to complain about rolls and such.

NBG is the way to go when you know the people plain and simple, ie guild groups. I would never contest for a guild member to acquire this over me. But for pickup groups, I can give a rat's **** about there needs. Last night I acquired this item during a AE of Seb. Heck, we were the only group in Seb at the time, so we had run of the place. We had Cleric, Bard, 2 Wizzies, and 2 Chanters. After we stopped for the night, we headed to Bazaar to divide up all we got. Basically I paid 18kpp for the RBG that went to the total pot. We did this for a bunch of different drops in the end. After all was sold, we divided the money up. Each person walked away with 4500pp, and me I had my RBG. Fairest way to split it in a pickup group. To tell the truth, I will be wearing it until I find something better, cause it is way better than the cryosilk sash I was wearing. As for KEI, I bought it for 18kpp from, funny as it is, a Shaman who had one the role for it. Just remember, all of us have needs, and if your not in my guild, I really don't care what your needs. Sounds harsh, but tell me you don't feel the same way.

fine if you think this way when KEI drops and you are there I get to roll against you for it. I hate people like you and I leave groups becauseof it. I play a 58 shaman and also have a 46 warrior that I am currently playing. I bought a RBG for him off of a good friend that got a haste upgrade and he sold me the RBG real cheap. Still there is no way I would ever say I get to roll on this item if I was there when it dropped with my shaman. Warriors, Monks, Rogues, Rangers, SKs, Palidans, Beastmasters all deserve this item before I do. So back to what I was saying before when that ever covetted KEI drops in Ssra temple and you lose the roll YAY I get to ***** you and make you pay the 40 or 80 k that it is selling for....NGB is always the way to go. I am so glad I dont have to deal with people like you in this game for the most part I hunt with RL friends and guildies.

The only problem with NBG is that too many people define it as I can wear it so therefore I NEED it.
If defined correctly NBG is the way to go.NBG in my definition is if it is an upgrade and you will immediatley replace what you are wearing with the newly dropped item and wear it 90% of the time(there are times you will want to swap stuff out for resists on raids and such)then you should be able to roll on the item regardless of who it is best for.If this means a caster wins it then so be it,but next time I see said caster he better be wearing it.I am just so glad I hunt with the same people all the time so this doesn't come up.

Just out of curiousity, what makes people always say that more tank items than caster items drop?
Maybe those people need to hunt in more than one zone?12k for peridots? If you put out that much for peridots with no compensation then tell your group if they want symbols they can anti-up.

The best way is to hunt with a regular group of friends or your guild then you get to spend a couple days in a zone where all caster stuff drops outfitting your casters in group then move to a zone that drops good tank gear for a couple days.

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 17 2003 at 10:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) so your telling me that if i won the role on it and sold it in the bazaar to get my new spells it wouldnt be fair for the melee's who could have been using it?(since there is no way i want to solo for hours on end to get all the cash that is required to pay for my spells!) I think that once you twink out a melee nicely he can go all the way till lvl 50 and maybe a little bit more untill he will need better gear (though this does depend on how well you twink him) while casters (clerics especially(and dont tell me that clerics can just say "no symbols cuz they cost to much", they will ALWAYS be remembered as a bad cleric/loot ***** cleric by SOME people in that group and all clerics can do about is it shut up and take it)) will have to constantly pay more and more for their spells, once i ding with me 58 druid i couldnt say, "Sorry guys I dont have XXX spell cuz it costs too much" if that was in a pickup group then the other ppl will probably be looking for that other druid who does have loads of plat to pay for their spells, im not saying here that casters should have MORE right to this then Melee'ers but they spend just as much time killing the MOB and risked getting wiped just as much as other melees did. Though i cant say that i have ever won an item that was worth more then 500 plat in a group that i inteded to sell, i still think i deserve to get that chance, so finally IN PICK-UP GROUPS OPEN LOOT EXCEPT NO DROP!!! Decide with your FRIENDS (if you group with them a lot) what you want to do with the group but if u know all ppl in the group it is pretty safe to say that you can do NBG

I never post, but this one got to me.

You say he has no honor, huh? Well let me enlighten you about "honor".

I was in a group a couple weeks ago going on a raid where the rules made beforehand were that anything that dropped would be rolled upon. Sounded fair enough, right? Well, SEVEN hours later when the loot finally drops off the boss, the self-appointed loot master (who kept everything else as well I might add and never so much as gave up a copper of it), decided that everyone shouldn't roll after all. Her NEW rule (now that she had the loot in her possession) was that only certain classes could roll and it was going to based on a number she was thinking in her HEAD!

30 minutes later, after their private conference was over, she hands over the loot to one of her known friends, citing NBG of course, and keeps everything else she has on her from the 7 hours of drops getting to the boss. She then ports everyone back to Nexus, where, while I'm sitting in the bazaar still fuming, see none other then the loot winner /auction off his winnings for an astonishing amount of pp.

Yup, I USED to be all for NBG, but never again will I accept this b.s. line in a group of strangers. It's a convenient EXCUSE used by many to better their own odds and use others, displaying the worst type of greed in this game.

So while you claim people who know this from experience have no honor, the TRUTH of it is, they have plenty of honor, they just won't sit there and be USED by those who definitely have none and think our time is worth nothing and we're just there to amuse their class-specific drops for their friends, and obviously KNEW that they were taking advantage of others beforehand by lying how they'd handle it.

Since I pay the SAME amount they do to play this game, until they show me something more then abuse of my time, they can roll along with the rest of us or let the GM settle the "honor" factor, which I should have done before Mr. LootWinner hit the bazaar.

So much for "honor".

I asked price please. He replied 40k. And just curious to see what he'd say I asked, would you be willing to trade it for a RBG? (player was a wizz) He says "hold" then comes back, says I can do that for you. I did it, I made the trade.

I got one of these a few weeks ago in Chef. I'm Iila, a 52 enchanter on Xev. Before we started everyone agreed that all item drops would be randomed. I'm sure if the melee thought an RBG would be dropping, they would have re-thought that decision.

I sold that one to a guildie for 10k cash and a 20k IOU.

Well, lo and behold, I'm leading a Crypt group today and between the guard camp and crypt dang thing drops again, and I say "everyone rand 1 1k now, RBG just dropped", everyone does and I win again. Just a lucky roller I guess.

With 4 melees in the group, this caused some major discord and I should have just kept my mouth shut and let the dust settle, but the rogue threatened to leave and everyone else, including me were feeling kind of sick to our stomachs. So we did a NBG roll. To the best of my knowledge all the melees had a haste item but this was an upgrade to atleast the person who won it.

In the 50+ scene on Xev, its prety rare to find someone you've never grouped with before, and the last thing I want is for people to think that im greedy. I mean, come on, I can clear 1k a day in Seb, In a month I could buy that RBG. Still, its like a lotery ticket, and there are no equivalent caster drops in Seb, Velks or Karnors that are rare random drops off non-named mobs that sell on the open market for 30k. You have to give everyone a fair chance at this thing, this isnt a dragon raid for gods sake.

A lot of melees will want to roll on it just so they can sell it anyway, and will claim NBG simply to better the odds for themselves. I'm sure there are people out there who can genuinely use it, but if you're in a pickup group, you're under no obligation to NBG.

Personally I prefer guild / friend groups simply on the basis that most of us are honest and don't try to ***** each other around =P in those circumstances NBG work fine, but otherwise bugrit.

I'm personally after one of these for my cleric (although I play on VZ so the rules may be slightly different, for jstick procs and so on), but even so a lot of people think that it should go to melees only, despite the fact that if I were to get one it would be equipped and not come off for a long long time. Seems I'm going to need to just buy the damn thing off a rogue or something who claims NBG then gets his Ragebringer a week later.

All this NBG debate is nice, but its a horse that's not only been beaten to death, its 6 feet under and decomposed.

How often does this item drop from the Krups? Are they more common from Shamen or Knights? Are the drops level based (At 52 I have noticed some Krups are even con, with about 90% being blue, and am curious if there is a higher likelyhood of something dropping off of a higher mob in this case, as in some other zones)? Is there a particular area of OS where this item drops more often than not (not likely, but possible)?

Answers to any of the above questions would be greatly appreciated.
RE: Drop rate info?

All I can tell you is that when I saw this drop in Seb, it was at D2 and dropped off a shaman. I've also seen a Sib cloak drop over near guard camp off a krup as well. So I can confirm that they do drop off the krups, I can't confirm about drop rate and if level really matters.

If it helps any, I've seen the really good items drop from all different levels of mobs. The tougher mobs (not the common ones, such as the krups) tend to drop better items. Mobs such as the krups which can vary in level all have the same chance of dropping an item.

So, in regards to where this would drop in Seb, I've seen it drop in D2, never really heard of it dropping off entrance mobs or exit mobs. Head for D1/D2/dpath and your chances of seeing this drop increase (IMHO). If you're after gems and cash, time to head to guard and kill the regular scarabs, since they pretty much almost always drop gems and nothing else.

Hope that helps somewhat.

This is truly unbelievable --- as the post down the line here says to the casters about being hypocrites as TOTALLY agree. The peeps that sit there in the group and pound their chests with a feeling of superiority saying "If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here" I laugh at you. NO, I DON'T NEED A CASTER --- give me 2 55+ bards and 4 tanks and I will never miss having a caster in my group. Personally, I love casters and what they bring to a group so let's be VERY specific here: the peeps that sit here and preach about FFA over NBG will be the FIRST ones that complain when a tank rolls for an uber wis,int/mana/hp item that should be for casters only but is rated ALL/ALL and WINS!!!!!! This is crap --- the purpose of this game is adventure, role playing, and exploring. I have NEVER played an RPG (board or online) that has as its theme economics. I create almost every group I end up with in Sebilis; biggest reason is because I have been burned too many times by clerics and other casters that act like I should worship them for "deigning" to group with with me and then act like they are suprised when I tell them to keep 2 extra gems for themselves to cover their peridot costs and split up the rest. That's not necessity, that's just plain damned greed. And you know what? (I address this question to the caster(s) below that make fun of and act like they don't need tanks) I love seeing aoe's get wiped out in Sebilis due to this very fact --- we all compliment each other in this game. And, if you join my group you can damned well expect to be on a NBG basis. I don't give a crap HOW MUCH pp you have in the account --- if there is a melee in the group not wearing an FBSS or other haste item he/she WILL get the item --- complain as much as u want. If there r 2 they will roll and u will watch. If a caster item drops and u or another caster need then we will watch u roll. Don't like it? GET THE HELL OUT OF MY GROUP!!!!!! You peeps with this type of attitude are the reason road rage exists.
There is NO reason for a caster to need this item. You want help getting a caster item that will truly meet ur needs? Ask me politely to help you; or maybe u need to ask ur guild to help u. Or, if ur guild can't do it then maybe u need to look at joining a guild that can. I am NOT ur bodyservant muppet --- and i WOULD allow the mobs to kick ur *** caster if u treated me like this. U don't deserve my respect -- u have to earn it. I got where I'm at with the help of casters --- and I KNOW that you got where ur at with the help of tanks dying so u could gate out or zone out. Don't give me this crap about not needing tanks --- we all start at lvl 1 and we all reach lvl 60. Ur no better than anyone else in this game, and if u don't need an item u shouldn't roll on it. And, if u don't like NBG due to the huge number of melee drops in OS, then DON'T COME --- take ur hypocritical attitude with u to somewhere else. I didn't invite u into my house anyway.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Sadly your type of player is the entire reason I quit my enchanter. I played NBG for a long time; I felt it was the best way to distribute loot. Until I realized that I die nearly every time I go anywhere, which means I get less xp. Then I tallied up all the times I actually got to even bloody ROLL on an item, after 16 raids I came up with ONE FREAKING TIME FOR AN ITEMS THAT WAS JUST RESIST GEAR ANYWAY.

NBG would be good if this game had been designed better. As it is caster classes do not get the opportunity to actually collect many items that they can actually use, this gets EXTREMLY frustrating after a time. This was doubly so for me as an enchanter; I was begged to come to X place, told they could not do it without me. So I go, help, die, die, die, end up losing a bit of xp. Then in the end I came out with exactly a little negative in the xp, and maybe 50pp. If I got a roll on X piece of loot I have the choice to A. Sell it to better my own gear, B. Give it to one of my close friends, C. Give it to some one in the group that actually needs it (and before you flame me for this I have done this numerous times before, and yes with items that cost over 5k)

IF there were more items/rare spells/neat toys for the caster classes I would continue to be gung ho for NBG. As it is EQ has taught me otherwise. There are just too few GOOD items out there actually worth rolling on for casters, those items usually end up being cheap to purchase. By the time you are in a place like OS you most likely already have that item that just dropped. When you don't have ANY benefit to grouping with people who believe in NBG you stop grouping with those people. Understand the continual frustration on the part of the pure caster before you INSULT us. Your post was very offensive and not well thought out. There is another side to NBG, I chose to quit the enchanter and be on the good side of NBG (i.e. a tank class). People like you who disguise your greed as something noble are disgusting, and the reason I don’t play my enchanter.

Regardless I now play a warrior and enjoy it far more fun than my enchanter. I will pull my enchanter out only if it agreed that I can roll on any non-no drop item. It's the cost of bringing him, if a group doesn't want to pay that cost then my warrior will be right there with you, getting to roll on SOMETHING, however small.

I challenge you to play a pure caster into the 50s and rethink your post. By looking at the issue from the other side you may just find out how unfair your post really is. Maybe you will find out just how much of a prick this post makes you appear to us. We casters are a group of people who have legitimate frustration, with little way of repairing that which frustrates us. You may think we are just greedy, but this is a game, if we don't get pleasure out of the game however it may come, why would we play?

Anyway it's not my fight any more, I have crossed over to the tank side. But I understand why people would want a roll. I am sympathetic to that. You would do well to learn why casters don't like NBG before insulting us. Your post makes you out to be a complete @$%hole. Hopefully it was just your frustration talking. Next time someone is complaining about NBG try to find out why they dont like it instead of assuming the worst.

I totally feel your pain, because I have constantly been in the same situation. I look at my equipment, and realize that besides my heiro cloak, I have bought every single piece of it, besides tov armor. I have never won a single piece of equipment as a result of the all-praised (by melees) NBG policy.... and I am a 60 cleric. I am speaking purely pick-up groups here, my guild is largely responsible for my equipment. I despise melees that scream NBG, and thankfully now that I am 60, I tend to group with more mature players who are past the stage where they need equipment like this.... they have planar/tov/luclin etc etc haste that is ten times better.

One of my goals lately has been to get a lodizal shield, and have been saving money for that purpose (not about to go camp him for the 3-4 days necessary, I have a life and job after all). So what would be wrong with me being allowed to roll on an RBG and sell it for a lodizal shield?? IMO, nothing at all... I got an upgrade I needed, and the two pieces are almost equal in price (almost). I spend thousands of plat in peris every month casting syms and aegos on tanks.... I would say 5% of those tanks ever bring their own peridots, or offer to pay me for the ones I use. And you call ME greedy?? I actually have to put some forethought into going hunting, need to make sure I have reagents, I usually bind outside the zone in case of a wipe-out.... all the average whiney warrior has to do is showup, and clerics and other support classes are there to pamper and buff him. Heck, half the time I am right-clicking food and water for the dumba$$es too.

And, evidently, it is our job to equip them also, and never expect any kind of compensation in return. I have never seen a tank say "well, you just let me win the RBG, lets go and camp something for the casters now". ROFLMFAO.... everyone out there KNOWS this doesnt happen.

The fairest way, IMO, in a purely pickup group with 5 strangers, would be to go sell the item and split the proceeds 6 ways..... but since this requires too much trust in the 1 person going to sell it, then you HAVE to roll for it right then and there, and let luck decide.

The good tanks of the game know this isn't aimed at them, and of course as a cleric I respect knowledgable competent tanks, because without them I am a paladin that can't melee (i.e. totally useless). And I believe that the tanks that I respect are the ones who end up being MA in their guild, and earn their equipment thru their own hardwork, and NOT by expecting others to be charitable to them, and hand them items. Life doesn't throw good fortune in your lap, you need to work for it just like everyone else, and everyone else who works for it will share in it equally.

I feel better now, /rant off

I also play a Cleric .. of his 55th season .. and i completely agree with ye us clerics DO spend lotsa pp on Peridot costs .. and until we get into the high end of the game (usually with guildies, friends or just people who actually look at both sides of the fence) rarely get compensated fer them ... and alotta Melee donnae even consider the costs of us casters having to spend up to (if not more than) 10k per spell once we get to the 50's yet they think that they NEED an upgrade to haste more than a caster needs loot to sell ... BS IMO ... fer all the melee's out there who think that way .. try playing a caster fer awhile like the chanter said earlier and see what ye think about the "NBG" policy that most melee players try to enforce before ye start to down us casters fer being "greedy"

#REDACTED, Posted: May 11 2002 at 7:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I just want to point out that most int caster stuff that is tradable is so cheap now that u can easy get it at lvl 30 40ish. the rest is no drop. Example: Most melee BP's r droppable... i can only think of ONE robe that is droppable and uber, and that is the manarobe. And when a bonecaster robe drops in seb i dont give a **** if warriors roll on it..go ahead! But i demand to have the chanse on a rbg! how many caster items sell for that amount? Only the mana robe and zheart as i can remember now. And for the "i dont need casters" crap! I WOULD LIKE TO SEE U AT KB OR NG IN SEB WITH NO HEALR!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Sure u can manage a few mobs...but the downtime...LOL would be worse than pure caster group downtime. Adn btw...with one necro, one drood, one chanter and 3 wizards in CS i get XP SOO much faster than in regualar groups (of course u need to have the zone for yourself...wich is kinda hard). And ur a pally...what a poor exuse for a usefull char...i understand why u need rbg or at least the pp u get from selling it...your dmg output=0.1 so u need all the help u can get. Cheers! And long live flaming!

Seriously, calling pallies worthless is pretty ignorant of you. I happen to know a number of pally's that I would group with any day. Hell, I know a particular level 60 pally that outdamages every single melee type on the entire server except rogues, so don't tell me pally's can't dish out damage. You just gotta get them the proper equipment and make sure they know their class.

How many pally's have ye grouped with that donnae have any melee skillz? .... The cleric said that a pally without melee skillz is useless ... not a pally with awesome melee skillz ... Read the entire post before ye rant about one part of it buddy. me 2cp

From what I have gathered ....

FBSS - 21%
SCHW - 21%
RBG - 27%
RBB - 31%
CoF - 36%

There are others, but these are the ones that seem most commonly discussed.

Ack--these messages seemed to have strayed off course from what we should be discussing here (the RBG)....

EQ Weapons & Armor database website (the "Website") claims that the RBG has a 27% haste. I have been told 30% haste from friends, but I am inclined to believe the Website.

My personal experience, from someone who had the Hangman's Noose, is that there is a noticable increase in speed--I mean NOTICABLE.... =P

Hope that helps

My OS group yesterday (a group of old friends, not a pickup group) got TWO of these. I won the roll for one and sold it to another old friend for 18k - I put out a guild-speak message about it and was bombarded with responses. That makes it the most expensive single item I've ever sold - and maybe the most underpriced as well, judging from the other prices posted here. Anyway, the buyer and I were both very happy, which is the best kind of deal.
