Drop on Al'Kabor
# Dec 01 2006 at 3:44 AM Rating: Decent
Dropped Dec 1 06 on Al'Kabor

Looted by a wizard. Casters need haste items to when soloing or in groups. Got a orb of tash this is great thing to have in groups with no ENC. Just start hitting the orb procs alot and with haste gives more chance per minute for it to drop. Mob gets tashed and helps your group out in the long run by using a spell that isnt aviable in group to debuff the mob.

On stromm, I have the Txevu (i think right zone) 36% haste earring. With mana robe a ornate chain horse and the 2hb mana stick from tier 3 in potime I didn't hear one melee complain about me looting this either. When NBG comes in every class needs haste so feel free to roll on this.

Just to clear this up so everyone will stop argueing and get back to acually posting about THIS item, it is only 6%, used to drop in TD, no longer does, and if you buy one you are dumb.

According to magelo, it's 17% haste and yes, it does still drop. What concerns me most about your post is your idea that you can purchase a NO DROP item. Sure, you can wait in-zone and advertise that you want to loot the item and will pay for the privilege, but when considering how you claim it no longer drops, one get's confused.

Pay attention to details, my friend...

A solid choice

24 posts
For those who don't have the money to buy an FBSS but have some friends/guildies you like to fight with, this is a wonderful choice for a haste belt. The haste does not quite match FBSS (17 to 21 or so) but the 5ac is a nice bonus for a haste item. The noose drops off of Hangman, a named mob that looks like a giant flower, he is on the forager cycle as mentioned several times below. Hangman can generally be killed by a good group of 40's, two decent groups in their forties, or by one group in the low 50's pretty easily. I have seen him three times while doing the named cycle in TT, he dropped the noose every time.

Overall, a solid choice as compared to FBSS, FBSS is slightly better IMO but if you camp Hangman the noose is free. (sure you can camp FBSS too... but its not open nearly as often as the TT named cycle)

Actually it is REAL simple. You hang out in the zone advertizing you want to buy loot rights to it.

For quest pieces like the Thurgadin Armor you buy the Multi Quest of the item.

Song and Buff not stacking
# May 03 2002 at 11:22 PM Rating: Decent
Top enchanter haste to my understanding does not stack with bard song, SLW and AQ and above as this message taken from Castersrealm info on the spells " It will stack with haste items, but not with any other haste spell or song. " so only low end buff haste will stack with bard songs .

Wrong. Haste Item + Haste Spell OR Song + Ervaj/Vah Shir song line

The Ervaj and Vah shir song lines (both 50+) are the ONLY songs that will stack with spell haste. The Vah Shir line will also break the haste cap.

I know this is off topic, but a word on the FRSS...

[Drinal] I saw someone selling this in NFP for 2K, asked about it, heard 20% haste, thought it was too good to be true, but bought it anyway. Didn't really notice a huge difference in my melee, just a titanic loss of AC (had spider fur). So i made me an Ogre warrior, handed him the FRSS and a weighted axe and went to parsing... To make a long story short, if you pay more than 500pp for an FRSS, YOU ARE BEING RIPPED OFF. It's 6.5% haste, if you use a weapon with a delay less than 20 in main hand, it would take INSANE perception to actually see an increase in speed. Do yourself a favor and save your pennies for the Silver Chitin Handwraps if you're gonna buy a haste item, or get to TT and run that forager cycle for a noose, FRSS = waste of cash, unless you're main weapon is a weighted axe, then you might see a tiny difference.

The FRSS was a temporary spawn in TD of skeletons that dropped a pile of entertaining gear. One piece was an enduring breath belt/neck. The spawn has been removed from the game but some of us got alts to the island to loot a few (I personally got 6 =)) but now because of their removal they sell for 7 - 9 k. they are 15% haste and not easy to find.

Bard haste song icons will stack with spell icons but the haste itself does not stack. The higher haste is used except in the case of the ervaj songs which are pretty much useless. This should change with the release of SoL and the bard songs that break the haste cap.

There are two types of haste that you can have.

1) Permanent haste item (such as FBSS). If you have more than one permanent haste item, only the highest haste is counted.

2) Spell or bard song haste. Some items have a triggered or procced version of one of these as well. Again, only the highest one counts. My monk epic has a triggered bard song haste that also includes some stat enhancements. If a high level enchanter casts a high level haste spell on me, both icons will be there, but the higher haste (from the enchanter spell) will overwrite my monk epic haste. The only reason my monk epic haste icon is still there is because of the other effects that go with it.

I have heard rumors that there is a very high level bard haste (possibly from their epic?) that will stack with other haste spells and songs. I strongly suspect that these rumors are wrong and that the song in question merely has additional effects that let it appear to stack with a high level enchanter haste.

How do I know all this stuff? Verant announced it when they made the no-stacking changes maybe 1.5 to 2 years ago. Also, as regards haste buff stacking, I know that from personal experience AND announcements from Verant. Any monk who has had an epic for a while can tell you all about haste buff stacking. They recently (a few months ago) made it where if the lower haste buff were overwritten by a higher haste buff, that the additional effects on the lower haste buff would still be in effect.

# Jul 09 2002 at 4:42 AM Rating: Default
The high level bard haste your referring to is a proc off their epic. It's called dance of the blades. It stacks with all other haste. Additionally, there are other items that have scimilar effects. The rogue epic and the quested eyepatch from iceclad both come to mind...
RE: Haste Stacking
# Apr 17 2002 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
Dunno why I'm replying to a message that's 7 months old... but, oh well.

Haste can be obtained and stacks with the following:
1) ITEM
2) SONG
3) SPELL

So, you will receive the benefits of Haste from a bard's song and a chanter's spell while wearing FBSS. ALL three stack. But, 2 haste items will not stack... nor will two haste songs or two haste spells.

This was clarified by VI about 3 months ago.

Furthermore, I wear an FBSS and usually have a bard and chanter in my group. I've timed it... they all stack.
RE: Haste Stacking
# Sep 11 2002 at 10:02 AM Rating: Decent
Close.

Item +
bard or enc or shaman +
bard ervaj line or bard SoL song (warcry, battlecry)

While you get both icons from bard haste and enc/shm haste, you get only the higher haste of the two. You see both icons because the bard songs have additional stat buffs in them.

Whether or not FBSS and Noose stack. I've got an oggie warrior and he's camping in TT now to loot one of these to keep it from rotting. Got a weighted axe too, and when I get a noose I'll try them each and post here what I find. A buddy of mine has the silver haste gloves, so I'll borrow them from him and check the haste on them as well, and see if they all 3 stack and what not, wish me luck. BTW, if someone else already has these items and doesn't mind, go ahead and post what the effects of each is/are, I'm sure that a bard would be better to test all this out... but please give us a list of the haste on everything if you don't mind... thanks, and gl out there

Um... moot point whether or not they stack; since they're both waist items, and must be worn to get the haste effect, you can't possibly equip both at the same time anyway.
Haste %
# Sep 01 2001 at 2:38 PM Rating: Default
Not saying this is right or wrong but what I have heard is that FBSS is 33% haste, best friend is a bard and I have fbss and double lamy's on my ranger, with his song playing and the fbss, whatever the percent is I can get about 8 swings off between mob's attacks on good rounds (35 Ranger, mobs arround that level). If it is 33%, FBSS + Lamy's = arround 9/13, keep in mind, I'm not claiming for sure fbss is 33%. I heard also the Hangman's Noose is just about the same as FBSS if not the same...*shrug* blow up and dis me as much as you want if I'm wrong, probly won't be back at this item to look for quite a while. Keep in mind, what goes arround comes arround though.
Why wear on the head?
# Aug 23 2001 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
A few people have mentioned they wear this in the head slot...why??? There are far more and better head AC items than there are waist items. Get an SSB and wear this on your waist.

If you expect to have a 49+ enchanter with you normally, this is probably enough because this + SLTW probably hits the haste cap for most melee types until at least well into your 50's.

And AC is so important I'd take this over an FBSS any day.
RE: Why wear on the head?
# Oct 24 2001 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
Why head? Think about it.

Use this for head and use a TBB for waist...That is nice for starters

MANY combinations. So instead of smashing idea...look for the merits and see what CAN work.

There is no one RIGHT way.

FBSS vs. Hangman's Noose?
# Aug 04 2001 at 3:13 PM Rating: Good
Simple question, which has more haste? FBSS or Hangman's Noose? And what is the difference?
RE: FBSS vs. Hangman's Noose?
# Aug 14 2001 at 9:59 PM Rating: Excellent
Here are 3 haste items to compare with and in order of how good they are IN MY OPINION.

1. Swirlspine Belt: 4 ac Haste is Roughly 19% (Though some say with a patch a bit ago they made it the same as FBSS due to how hard it is to get)

2. FBSS: 0 ac Haste is 21%

3. Hangman's Noose: 5 ac Haste: Roughly 17% (can be worn in belt or head slot, generally worn in belt slot)

***So to answer your question I would say the FBSS is just barely better than the Hangman's Noose***

5 ac or 4% more haste? You choose.
Or try to get a Swirlspine Belt for 4 ac and same haste as FBSS or maybe just 2% less.
Noose VS FBSS
# Jul 17 2001 at 7:26 PM Rating: Good
I spent alot of time in traks teeth keeping a friend company while he was looking for the chestplate. Saw every named spawn at least once some two three times. had several items rot acually. I've had both fbss and the noose and have been told they have a close enough haste % that it is not noticibly different. + the 5 ac is cool. I wear mine as a helm, and a straw-spun belt for the ac 10. I love my noose. Good luck to all those out there after it. It's on the forager.

Yes, only The Bow and Medalians drop from the hunters and foragers. However there are named mobs on the same spawn table. The named drop some nice stuff and you must kill Hunter or forager to get them to spawn. Each have a different spawn table and a different set or named mobs as rares.

Haste Stackin'
# Jun 28 2001 at 12:56 AM Rating: Decent
I think there is some confusion still with haste stacking... especially with items.

The way i understand it there are three types of haste. I don't remember what they are all called, but item haste can be any of the three types. All three types stack with each other, but you can only have one of each type.

Example: Robe of the whistling fist has a clickable song effect (one of the effects is haste.) This will stack with a FBSS or Hangman's noose's haste because these two items are permanent types of haste. Also spells like alacrity or quickness or celerity can be stacked on top of both the other types, or any item with an effect of those spells would stack with the robe and the FBSS or whatever you UBER bastages are using.

There are some enchanter spells which will NOT stack with songs...i think these are spells that have a side-effect of haste.

I am sorry my memory is so blurry on the details, but the meat of this post is that SOME items will stack haste-wise, some will not. It's prolly best to ask around in-game or find a better explanation of haste-stacking. One easy way to tell if items will stack is any item that the haste is not a proc or a clickable effect will not stack with any other of the same type. And most items that are clickable or proc'ing type haste will stack with items that just give the innate ability of haste.
RE: Haste Stackin'
# Jul 10 2001 at 12:39 AM Rating: Default
You can be simulataneously hasted in three ways, but only one of each way:

1. perma item
2. song
3. buff

If you're wearing two haste items the one with lesser haste is ignored.

If it's a song, it doesn't matter if it's sung by a bard or clicked from RotWF or CFs; it fits into the song category and won't stack with other songs.

Songs always stack with buffs, whether it be pure haste, aug, or VoG.

I DO know that haste can NOT be stacked in these 3 ways:

1. perma item
2. song
3. buff

Some songs' icons will actually stack with some haste spell icons because all bard songs also include stat bonuses so if you have say SLtW on and you play jonothan's provocation you will get both icons but you will NOT get stacked haste, just the haste from the swift spell and the +stats from provocation. I belive that the way haste works now is that you get the ONE highest haste of all the items/spells/songs that are on you and the rest are ignored. From what I understand this has something to do with the way the game engine makes haste work where if they did stack then a 10% haste and a 20% haste would yield something like 230% haste instead of the expected 30% haste. The math behind this is that a 10% haste will make you attack at 1.1 times your current rate and a 20% haste makes you attack at 1.2 times your current rate, just like a 100% haste would make you attack at 2 times your current rate so when they tried it in the game engine some programmeer just added them up and of course you got 1.1 + 1.2 = 2.3 instead of 10% + 20% = 30%... Rather than fix the math verant first tried to put a cap on the amount of haste you got which resulted in any haste + any other haste = the max cap so a level 10 bard could easily twist warsong and anthem and come out with max haste or say someone with an FBSS and either the level 10 bard song or the level 16 enchanter spell would have max haste.

Ok...pweese don't try and bite my head off, but he's a blabbering post on haste item stacking. I have never seen a post by anyone that says they know for an absolute fact that haste items don't stack, so lemme add something really quickly on the subject. I really want to find the true answer to this. I have a few lvl 60 friends (doesn't everyone say that? hehe...but i swear i do) and here's their take on it. According to them haste *items* CAN be stacked up to 60%. Don't hold me to this since i am still trying to figure out the truth...but just a little more fuel to the haste stacking fire. I lost my shot on a Cloak of Flames today when two were dropped at once, so it'll be a while before i can find out on my own. Currently, i'm stuck with just an fbss that took me forever to earn as i only have 1 char. anyways...take care and good luck on the quest for an answer to this.

You don't need level 50+ people to camp the frenzied ghoul. A group of low 40's will do just fine. Also, The hangman as stated before can be done by a mid-40's group.

I got my FBSS at 43rd level, I had a low 40's group (I should know, because I put the group together)
