It's still dropping, but we don't yet know what it's for...
These also drop of the enthralled mutants in The Deep.
Droped off a Mutant Cohort in castle, as soon as u come up steps and go thru door there are 3 mobs in the corner Luggald Pstulant, Mutant Henchman and Mutant Henchman, one of the henchman spawns the Chort, dropped a Broken Clay mask also

these bones definitely don't work for triggering an encounter ... tried it this morning :)
These drop in Echo Caverns, and not in the Gulf of Gunthak.
These also drop in the Gulf of Gunthak just got one. Any idea on what they are used for? I got mine off a Broken Skull Seer in the csatle.

No. The one you got in Gunthak was Cracked Finger Bones dear, not Mutant Finger Bones.
/disagree. I was just hunting in the Gunthak temple, and I got one also. It's sitting in my inventory as I type this, and it's definitely "Mutant finger bones". It dropped off "a mutant henchman".
