A high amiably faction with Ashen Order is needed to receive the quest and to turn in the quest items.
Low "amiably" does not work !
What I did to raise my freeport monk faction was to kill Deathfist Orcs in the Commonlands and in Nektulos Forest. This seems to be the best option. The two orc camps in Nektulos Forest are the best spot for high level chars as they have up to 18 deathfist orcs. The respawn rate in both zones is only about 5 minutes !

Same here - I cannot seem to convince Guildmaster that I am worthy.
I made lvl 11 thorugh the mines of gloomingdeep and I tried turning in the items directly, but he keeps saying he doesn't need them and gives them back.

Ok, I have gone and spoken to the guildmaster in Freeport and I have aim faction with him..he tells me he has the white sash and so on but when I say what white training sash instead of telling me what items he needs he says you must prove your dedication before I can discuss this with you further....
I sent a petition to sony to find out what is going on but thought I may get an answer here more quickly along with some advice.
My monk is lvl 28 with aim faction but she is agnostic and I no longer have the newbie letter she was born with. Have killed a ton of orcs but still nothing.

Erm... where does it go? It's not a necklace, is it? Does it work when you just put it in a slot?

That was an old question, and I believe the wrong answer. As the quest is rated to ALL, so I am going to try to raise some faction and see what happens.

Well seeing as how it's a monk's newbie quest....I'd have to say it's monks only....like it says in the picture about...Human and Iksar Monks
this is a good way to make some experience when you are a newbie...
