Quick Question
# Sep 23 2002 at 3:26 PM Rating: Decent
I only have one question, and that is, If you get the FBSS and the Silver Chiten Hand Wraps, are they stackable haste? I.E. If fbss is 21% haste and schw are 24% haste, do you get 45% haste? or do you just get the highest of the two?
RE: Quick Question

You get the highest. SCHW is much better anyway, I think it's officially rated at 22% though.

You can have one haste ITEM, one haste SPELL, and one haste BARD SONG active on you at any time.
Damage vs Delay

Why do all these people try to say that HASTE makes the weapon do more damage and doesn't make the weapon swing faster? If the weapon swings more often, then somehow(!) the weapon got faster. It does not add any additional damage to the weapon, rather it increases the amount of damage potential during a specified time period by making it possible to hit the MoB more often.

HASTE does reduce the delay of whatever weapon you are holding. Anyone who says otherwise is simply talking through their hat. It does not increase the actual damage of the weapon.

It deals more damage because you get more attacks per fight with the haste item on you. IE: 10-15 more swings per fight = that much more damage you can deal, making the fight faster and your character more efficient.
now a proud owner FBSS

I was in a 5 person group in lower guk, and won this on a roll, it was the highest roll, from 1 to 100, I rolled a 100. My jaw dropped and I almost hit the floor, I was so happy.

I would say we spent approx 4 hours down there, 40 minutes getting in,about 3 hours near the frenzy room and about 30 minutes getting out. Next time we need a nice tree huggin druid to port us outta there. I was tired as heck and didn't know the way out, AND was weighed down with loot and coin.

My 41 Ranger wears this and after getting it, I went around fighting stuff to see the difference in speed, and WOW big difference.
Even shooting my bow is faster now too. That's cool since bows are only way rangers can critical hit, so now I get more chances at doing so. Cool item to get, and its great xp from zone just from getting in and out of there, so if you happen to not win a roll for this belt, you'll still get good xp fighting here.

Lvl for effect
# May 29 2002 at 3:09 PM Rating: Excellent
Just curious...I noticed on here it said the lvl for effect is 1. I looked the fbss up on magelo.com(http://www.magelo.com/eq_item_info.html?num=1365) and it stated the lvl for effect to be 20. I do know the actual SPELL of haste is lvl based (ie 21% haste at lvl 20), but I'll leave the wise sages and scholars to help me with this one.

Romir Na`Vyk - Dark Lord of the Scythe
Necromancer of the 44th Dark
Druzzil Ro - Class Leader for the House of Dread

Actual Haste Percentage

A lot of numbers get thrown around for haste, and it's hard to decide on what the percentage on an item is. After some extensive research, I have learned a few things.

First of all, the most common number thrown around for the FBSS is 21 percent. Most people believe that this means the delay on their weapon goes down by 21%. This in fact is the increase in the number of hits you will get in a period of time.

Next, people either say the FBSS has been nerfed to 17% or that this is in fact the original haste. 17% turns out to be the actual reduction in the delay of a weapon.

Hopefully this has cleared up some confusion. Good luck!

Excellent comment!

That makes perfect sense on why you hear the two numbers, and completely explains the discrepencies. I did the math and it's very very close to what you describe (the numbers differed by .03, so someone's not going to say you get a 17.03 vs a 17 percent reduction in weapon delay, it's insignifficant).

I imagine those who are looking to buy one of these claim they're a 17% haste, and those looking to sell claim a 21% haste.

He's right, a 21% increase in hits landed within a period of time is the same thing as a 17% reduction in weapon delay. So the way it works essentially is for every 4 swings you'd get with out this, you'll get a free 5th swing with this (or close enough).
