Got one
# Apr 13 2006 at 10:10 AM Rating: Default
Got one of these the other night for my druid. We had a small group setting up to fight Rumblecrush (large golem in the zone) when a 70 SK and 70 shammy duoed the Spirit of Radir. They had no problem with it because they were from an Anguish equiped guild. They took him down and let me loot the hammer while our shammy got the spear. The two 70's then took down Doomshade a few minutes later and helped us with Rumblecrush.

THe hammer looks cool. Velious hammer graphics. The one that has a white hammer head with a dwarf's face on the sides. Looks exactly like Intel's Hammer. A good weapon for casters that don't have their epic yet. Useless for melee characters because there is so much better in the baz that is cheap.

got one of these on my necro a few days ago it has great stats and when i feal like helping pet when mob down past 20 percent this thing procs alot with my 112 dex and tola robe over all its a good item for any class but seems to be more for caster classes cause ratio is so crappy to todays standards
RE: nice wep for in caster
# Jun 24 2003 at 5:14 PM Rating: Good
Try this: pick on some poor defenseless undead (ME is a great place to practice this). Summon a rogue pet. Pull with slow, FD if it's resisted and try again. Once you get the mob slowed and incoming, send pet and drop BoD on it. The mob will almost certainly ignore your pet, and keep coming after you while you cast, and you'll have to channel through the last 1/2 second of BoD, but the mob is slowed so it's not too bad if you have to re-cast. Then start attacking with this weapon. Between slow, BoD and the stun proc on this, you should not be losing any health, even with lich up, and because the mob is facing you (mobs just love attacking the guy who is auto-attacking, slowing and dotting them), your pet's getting in backstabs left and right. Just be sure to keep an eye on the time (you can use the new dot-updates to track ticks) and re-cast slow before it wears off.

You shouldn't have to spend too much mana, and the mob should go down fairly fast. I have yet to try this in the planes, but then I don't have a nice stun weapon like this one either. Once I do, I'll give it a shot.

Fear kiting still kicks some serious butt... however it's not always a safe option. If you're in a dungeon like... oh... CoD, you may want to try this out once you're used to the dynamics from a nice safe zone like ME.

This goes to a warrior first
# Apr 24 2003 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
Why would this go to a Melee? Because It's the only Offhand Weapon attainable for a warrior who wants to duel wield 2 Stun Proccing weapons ( Which I do now, Sarnak warhammer and Pebble Crusher ) who isnt in an uber guild... THis weapon combo is amazing, Its dually beneficial because, First, The taunt is amazing on these procs, and second, the stuns reduce the damage I take so significantly, I'm suprised more War's arent after these 2 weapons... On any mob that can be stunned, IMO theres nothing I'd want a warrior in my group wielding more. and 9/20 and 8/20 Are not bad ratio's... Right now I could trade these weapons out for a 12/20 ... But I wont, Let the rogues and monks do the dmg, My job is Keeping Aggro, and taking damage, This weapon Keeps the aggro, and substantially reduces my damage taken. Sooo... Anyone who gives this to a caster over a warrior who wants it, shame on you.

And Yes, there are other weapons that stun , with better ratio's, that warriors can use, but I can't get into Veeshan's Peak, Or a 4th tier plane... Can you?

have you ever used one with boon or tricksters on? until you have, STFU. damage/delay does not mean anything. 15 stun procs a fight with 255 dex means something. stuns are the reason you dont see mobs coming off a tanking paladin very often. while your correct, its not an all purpose weapon, there exist MANY situations when it is a great tool. if you want DPS go play a ranger and get eq/am3. until you have played a warrior over level 20, please stop posting on warrior threads.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 09 2003 at 6:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WHY would this ever go to a melee? 8 20 is a really bad ratio at the lvl to aquire this item. Sure wis / int would be good for Pally or SK ... but really they wouldnt weild it. Best IMO is cleric , but even then summoned hammers have better ratio. ENC would benefit , As they get a lot of agro sometimes , And INT 12 helps quite a bit and stun wouild be a good proc to lose agro while the MT taunted. So anyone who says this should go to a melee just because of stun proc obviously aint played this game much to understand that it has a proc it goes to melee only
Enough! Enough! ENOUGH!

Please just stop with the "you should have better" and "this is a <insert-random-class-here> only item" posts!

My God! When I started playing this game back before Kunark and all the other expansions, a level 50 was lucky to posess anything remotely approaching the stuff we take for granted today. And once upon a time, loot was distributed by who could use it most at the time it dropped.

Now, you have people on this board claiming that characters as low as level 30 should already have better than <insert-random-post-50-item-here>!

I really do hope that Sony goes through with the rumored plans to stick level limits on EVERY frikking item in the game! That way, you dont have level 10 newbies running around with weapons that put the epic weapons to shame! Those uber items floating around with better stats than epics/planar were meant to be EARNED and USED by post-50 characters, not sold off to uber-twink some low-level alt.

This is not a flame against twinking, if you have a level 60+ character, you have earned the right to give your second character a head start so you can get right to enjoying the game. However, I am tired of being hounded by twinkers who give me a holier-than-thou attitude because their twinked alts have better equipment than those of us who are working on our first character!

How would you like it if every guild you ever tried to join gave you a line like: "Our guild does not do epic quests, cause all of our people have better anyway. People without at least a full suit of planar gear need not apply." Etc, etc. (You think I'm joking...I'm not..level 46 and guildless cause I'm not uber).

BATTLE - CLERIC

I am a 47 cleric. I also melee about 95% of the time, EVEN IF I AM MAIN HEALER. In a raid situation I do sit in the back against the 'big mobs' but against normal mobs, I TANK. I would LOVE this item, it would keep me from having to chain stun cast while I tank.

#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 16 2003 at 1:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Any caster that thinks this is best meant for them is high. The stun effect would be totally wasted on a caster - that is the best part of this item. Dropped him tonight and a cleric won the roll (I'll be pushing him to the front line to use the damm thing if i ever group w/ him). All those that argue that the other "caster" stats make it a caster item are - well, i think i covered it earlier - HIGH! As an example: Good for a druid? pfft - any self respecting druid who doesn't have his epic by mid 50's is just lazy. That item is deff. better than Pebble Crusher.

for the record...you said its bull a caster should get this well...any tank that doesnt have a nicer item by the time they can 1 grp kill this mob is just lazzy...i mean cmon 8/20 thats gimp man. we jus had a sword rot in PoS that was 20/26 bard only
as for the stun there are tons of weapons out there with stun jus spend 10k OMG!!
RE: LMAO - caster?
# Mar 05 2003 at 12:26 PM Rating: Default
Well, that being said, I partially agree, but if a caster wanted this item, I would pass so they could have it, 12 to wis/int is not bad and either is the 50 mana. Would just sit in my little bag of tricks until I wanted to look pretty.

There are things with much better dmg/delay ratio which is what a melee goes for then this thing.

Although the stun would be nice for agro control, Lots of caster weapons have procs on them that will barely ever (if ever) get used.

My opinion (which is no better then yours, or maybe it is ;) would be give this to a caster.

After about 30+ radir kills, my Vah Shir beastlord was awarded this :D. No arguements from the casters cause I am at least a wisdom user. On the other hand, the crusher before it was given to a monk. Alot of fur went flying about from the casters. A monk can actually make very good use of this. With high dex a monk can keep a mob stunned almost constantly (And Ive seen one do it).

So who do you give it to?

Answer: Whoever put the most effort into the guild and the raid. If a cleric has been sitting in Radir raid after raid, give it to him. If a monk has died countless times pulling in raids for everyone else, give it to him. Just because it has wisdom and int doesnt automatically mean its a caster only item.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 08 2002 at 7:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) A monk given this?! Umm, seriously a 55+ monk should have an adaman club (15/25 procs stun) at this point.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 26 2002 at 10:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you tried to give this to a 50+ monk, let alone a 55+ monk he'd laugh at you and feed it to the destroy button. Dont post about upper level loot assignment unless you actually know something about it.

Hey Obsinious,

Perhaps you should'nt post about upper level loot assignment until you understand the dynamics behind it.
Saying that a 50+ monk, "let alone a 55+ monk", "-he'd laugh at you and feed it to the destroy button", is just plain ludicrous -been smoking a little bit of the old wacky weed have we?
Unless you happen to be a member of an uber guild (or even not so uber) -which I speculate you are not- you would know that MANY monks would be perfectly fine, if not happy, to use this wep -myself not being the least of which.
My point is that not every 50+ monk has the best, most baddest h2h, 2hb or 1hb weapons, and insinuating that no self respecting monk would dare sully his or her name to wield some paltry piece of trash like this (i.e., Pebble Crusher), is not only just plain wrong, but damn foolish as well.
My suggestions: 1). Try playing a monk first of all. 2). Try doing it without the benefit of serious or even moderate twinking (probally impossible based on your post) 3). Try playing said monk without the networking resources or status affoarded by non "upper echelon" guilds 4). and finally, get off your snotty, elitist high horse and try playing the same game that the rest of us "average" people play.
That being said, I realize there are better weapons available, but honestly just how often are you gonna see every single 50+ monk running around equipped to the gills with ultra high end, "end game", planar, or quest gear? Sure, there are those few, but in reality most of us are never gonna see that aspect of the game.
Okay. I guess I'm done Smiley: banghead

Dear Gummy, if, as a monk, you would hapily take this item out of the hands of a caster, you have no concept of a team, and i very much hope that i am never trapped on a raid with your greedy ***. Ada club, Guard captains mallet, IFS, RFS, Tstaff are only a few of the many DROPABLE!!! monk weapons that surpass this in overall effectiveness, not to mention the large amount of no drop monk usable weapons that own all over this. I do have a monk, only 44, but i do understand how they work, and i can tell you, i sure as hell wouldn't be in on an item like this if there was a caster around that could use it.

If you can find one single dropable item, that is an upgrade to this item as far as a caster is concerned, i applaud you for being a better dectective than i, because i dont know of a single one, in fact, for the risk vs. reward, this and the wand of cursed souls are 2 of the best items i know of for a caster. this item can be attained by the most uber, to the most un uber, who grabs a few friends and goes to kick some *** in UP. This is a caster item, or at least, a mana using class item, and im sure that no guild, or group of people that have reached the point in the game to be able to attain this item, are going to award it to any class that can not use the item to its fullest extent.

In summery, Gummy, you are a greedy individual, and you obviously have no clue how much more this item would bennifit a casting class, than it would you.

I can't speak for those playing priest classes, but as a skilled wizard I would most definitely turn this one down if it was offered to me. It does much more good in the hands of someone who can make use of the effet. Even if you are in a guild that puts your epic out of reach, ths staff isnt enough of an upgrade over your Staff of the Wheel to make it a "caster" item.

Give this to a hybrid. An SK, Pally, Ranger, even BL would make way better use of this than an int caster ever would. If a monk doesn't have better, then hand it to him. Don't run around screaming that ever item with int on it should be given to a pure int caster tho, some times (such as now) that is just not the case

Dearest Xildarie,

Clearly you lack the sensibilities you so desperately wish to express in your post, but I'll forgive you -some people need all the positive reinforcement they can get. )
I guess the entire jist of my post just *whizzed* right over your little head, huh?
Greedy? Hardly. If anything, it would appear as though YOU are the greedy party Xildarie. Screaming caster item, and making such a fuss and all... really.
To reiterate my postion (as you don't seem to have a knack for grasping the obvious), please read the post I was replying to, and attempt -just try it, it's okay, really!-to see the inference regarding what is and what is not considered "trash".
Just because I state that I would be perfectley content to wield a Pebble Crusher is in no way a demand that should I ever be involved in a raid where one happens to drop that I also be involved in the roll for it. I posted purely in regard to the spirit of Obsinious' post.
I could go on further, but there really is no point, I wish you well Xil and perhaps someday you'll learn the value of not taking everything quite so literally.

I'm a 47 monk and I'd give this to a caster first cause of 12 int/wis for a 1h is pretty nice, stun is nice but considering you can get a baton of royal stature which is 11/20 with stun or adamantite club 15/25 with stun for only bout 10-15k the dly/dam on this just aren't worth it by the time you're in UP.

Edge of Honor, drops off Tawro, 20/24 + stats Pally SK axe.

Radir himself drops an 11/17 dagger, among other things. For the what the encounter can give, and the level to do it, this is crap for a melee. It is, however, an excellent weapon for pure casters. Speaking as a hybrid I would not ask to be considered for this; it would, aside from the stats, be a massive downgrade for me. When we took him down, every melee had better, far better actually; this went to a cleric for whom it was an excellent upgrade.

By the time a paladin gets to UP he would (hopefully) have something a lot better than 8/20, same goes for SK as well.
This will likely lower the DPS of any melee who loots it over what they have while fighting Radir.
