As a Ranger I would DEFINATELY wear this. 22 ac 20 stamina 20 agi 20 dex 25 int 75 hps and 75 mana. The hitpoints alone gained from this item make it worthwhile to me.

I can hear the casters crying already. Well Intelligence is a lot easier to come by than 22 ac 20 sta 20 dex 20 agi 75 hps and 75 mana.

The intelligence is not wasted, in the high end game intelligence helps melee classes raise their skills faster, and lord knows they raise extremely slow. That is why you see lots of high end melee items with +int or +wis on them. Can you say Cloak Of Piety, Lodizal Shield, Argoth's Belt of Defense, Shroud of the Dar Brood?

Every class has a valid use and want for this item. It should be equally randomed among ALL the classes for this is one excellent waist piece.

Too bad that as ranger, the int IS wasted on you, since skill increases check against wis or int whichever is higher (some skills also check dex or str), and as a ranger your wis should be higher than your int.

EDIT: fixed some, if not all, typos

what skills? i am really curious here )fletching is now linked to dex as well(and i surely hope your dex is higher then your int.P), other trade skills usually check wis , but then, claiming an item partly cuz you can do tradeskills better, is insane.

As a Monk, I'd wear this without question. It has nice AC, VERY nice STA and DEX boost and another +75 HP's doesn't hurt either. I'm not saying it's a Monk only item but hey, I'd jump all over it for the stats alone and the low weight is nice. I could absorb some more Int too, for no other reason than to say I'm more intelligent. I really like how ya'll jump on Monks for saying 'Monk' item when there's something that does suit us fairly well but you could absord several stats from as opposed to actually utilize but when someone else says 'nice ranger or rogue' item the enchanters get their panties in a bunch. Lighten up folks, nice items are best worn by the folks with the most points/high rolls. Whoever wins it should be happy with it and whoever rolls should be able to use it. I'm putting my support in with my fellow Monks that can use it, why? To aggrivate the chanters, of course.
RE: Nice belt
# Mar 14 2002 at 3:41 PM Rating: Decent
It's not that monks are saying that afew items really suit them. Basically if an item has less then 1.0 weight the monk automatically thinks it suits them. Sure a monk can make some use out of this belt, but a pure caster or SK will make use of every stat on the thing. I would tend to think a SK is the best suited class for this item since they use the agi/dex/sta/AC to maximum effect and will use the int and mana as well. A monk using this item is wasting some stats, your being able to say "gee I am an intelligent monk" is meaningless and a dumb excuse to waste the ultimate power of this item.

Just because an item has high AC and low weight does not make it a monk item. If there are other classes that can get much more use out of the item by using each stat then it is most suited to THAT class. Most guilds that can get this item dont roll. The monk that uses points to get this item can go ahead but because of the power of this item for other classes the monk will be giving up far more points then the item is worth to him. In guilds that award loots though I would be shocked if a monk was awarded this item, as would most people.

i agree with tropics~ every time a monk sees low weight and 1 stat that suits them~, they say "MONK SUITED"~ thats a bit of a waste of all the other stats~ this is for everybody as it is all/all , and if its suited for anyone, its SKs and int casters~ i do love monks but sheesh~ all the dumb ones please stop with the ME ME ME ME ME~ it does get quite tiresome~ now before i get flamed about what a waste it would be on casters i can get ya a reason for every stat~

AC- hmmmmm... u think about that for a sec
Dex- more dex = less interrupts
Agi- more ac, better ability to dodge
sta- more hp is very helpful when you catch agro
int- hmmmmm... possible for more mana?
and extra hp and mana is helpful to SKs and int casters~ now... what other classes would have as much use for such an item?
Luv,
Rennon~ =p

If you are going to stick this on the guilds SK keep in mind that its a temporary upgrade, if it goes on a caster it will most like be there permanently.
RE: hmmmmm... monk eh?
# May 29 2002 at 6:00 PM Rating: Default
Temporary to what?

T-max gloves haste, any number of cloaks, not many better belts in the game.

Enc => SK => Wiz, others.

As the Dain belt is usually reserved for int casters, I might put a hugher premium on SK's but a SK can't make or break most raids like keeping a chanter alive.

No Haste for joo!
# Feb 20 2002 at 1:22 PM Rating: Default
The greedy melee SOB that calls NBG before my Enc on this one isn't going to get haste from me! Ever.

Sure it's great for an SK (the melee of choice, if one had to get it, IMHO).

But if you can name ONE class that needs AC/hp/mana more in anything EXCEPT a boss mob encounter (i.e.: 99% of the time), I'd like to hear your reasons. Enc's just don't get a lot of kick-butt AC items. One that adds that level of stats is unbelievable. And as for "their Int is maxed out anyway," might I point out how many slots would now be opened for resist gear by this one item?

How many times have you heard it? The Enchanter dies first. Then the cleric, then the rest of the party. Sometimes it varies, but no other pure int caster is going to jump into the middle of a fight the way the Enchanter is with stuns, mezzs, charms, etc.

So, sure your melee can get one of these. After me. Or over my dead body. (And no, I don't play on a pvp server, so you're out of luck!)

This is an sk item... you are right enchanters die alot, but honestly, if u think "End Game".. this is an sk item. I don't think any chanter would take this, unless the chanter is a greedy and a noob... by the time a guild could do this.. chanters int and cha should be maxed ( or close to maxed) .. but wait what bout sk's... str should be capped... i bet int won't be capped hell none of their melle stats are going to be capped... Ac + melle stats = melle item

I personally think an SK would be better off with the ntov droppe dbelts that have 41% haste. Im no expert though, and i must say that stats on this belt totally own a lot of other belts.

Zagzul...

Not to be disrespecting your post, your opinion is very valid. But I see otherwise. After playing both a SK and a wizard, this would benefit any class that would wear it. Casters for crits and int and ac, tanks for stat gains and Ac... this is tight for everyone. I know I would roll on it. All I can say is godly. This is one of the very truely well fitting all / all items in the game.
RE: No Haste for joo!
# Mar 01 2002 at 8:05 PM Rating: Default
Bah, not true at all, on our raids this has always gone to enchanters, bar none... all all stuff never, ever goes to SKs... or SK I should say... there's only one. Luclin is full of SK loot which all goes to one person, though he's a cool guy and a great SK, and definitely deserves it. No real way this is ever going to an SK, unless he is very favored as a person...
RE: No Haste for joo!
# Feb 27 2002 at 1:59 AM Rating: Default
Most guilds who can do grieg work on dkp systems.. and therefor whoever wants and willing to bid the most will get.

On a side note.. why does this scream enchanter? I dont see any cha on this, this would be good for any int caster, the ac is irrelevant for casters. Then again, any caster who gets this is gonna already have max int.. so they have this for the hp/mana.

I have both a 60 war and a 60 wiz.. and if my war didnt have THO belt, Id be tempted to get this for him. Ok ac(theres better), but the 20sta and 75hp is the nice bonus... not to mention the agi and dex for procs on BoC and Hategiver.

So anyone thinks one class deserves this more then another is wacked, sure, it benefits certain classes more then others.. but only people left out here slightly are wis casters, and even then I wouldnt begrudge say a cleric or shaman getting this. After all, it is all/all.

oh shut it

SK, Wiz, Ench, Mag, Nec, Bard
think that sums up the int based people.
Anyone else rolling on this is a greedy sob that really needs to consider that if his/her guild is powerfull and balanced, he/she is powerfull and balanced.
RE: !
# May 02 2003 at 4:41 PM Rating: Default
Or it could be that any INT class short of bards and SKs that aren't at or close to max INT by this time are really slacking. Very few people in my guild do not have all thier prime requisites maxed already. Hell, I'm a tank and with Focus all my melee stats are maxed. This item is for raw mana, raw hps and haste by the time most people are killing Grieg. The INT is really secondary.
RE: !
# Feb 19 2002 at 4:05 PM Rating: Default
Either Take bards and shadowkinghts out of your suggestion or Add Rangers. As a Mage I go down in a raid shortly after most Rangers do. Yes I have a good deal of hp if you think about it. 1040 hp at 53rd level (just with my buffs) plus an Earth Elemental with his 2700 hp, so yes I can out last a ranger sometimes. But seriously this belt would mean getting hit less (+20 agility) and +20 Stamina AND +75 hp should be pretty nice to have as well and I could get rid of a few Intelligence items too for HP or Mana items

Well that's my 2 cents
RE: !
# Mar 02 2002 at 12:59 AM Rating: Default
In a high end encounter a ranger should never get agro... I know rouges who make better tanks!
RE: !
# Mar 27 2002 at 2:43 PM Rating: Default
Greedy? Or perhaps you want your Tanks or Pullers to actually survive? Sure,a caster can use the stats. However, I can't think of too many belts with This high AC +STA +AGI +HPs. I do believe this item is meant for everyone, so you can all quit you dumbass ******** now.
it's a caster item
# Feb 17 2002 at 8:45 PM Rating: Default
yes 22ac and the melee stats are very good, but the 25int is just incredible. can anyone who's gotten one post their class? I'm guessing this would go to an enchanter first, since they take the most hits of any int casters. This belt would probably work out to around 75 more AC, if they swap int gear for AC, or 35-45 AC and two more pieces of resist jewelry.

BTW, rangers and pallys should be gentlemen and not push for this. there's a 20ac, 15wis belt that can be gotten much more easily than taking down Grieg.

I'm not anywhere near killing ubermobs like this yet, but my impression is that melees at this level don't have any difficulty hitting 255 in their prime stats with raid buffs (even without avatar), so this wouldn't help them that much.

definately a bard or rogue belt for sure...yah yah its got high int and mana but it also has great stats for bard and rogue and they could use some improvement in the off stats..casters have alot of items that boost thier int and mana out there and with all the new gear out there is alot more ac items out for casters too..be kind to your sidekick classes and give this to them..they would sure appreciate it

Umm that looks like a Post Epic Ranger belt also.. being that we have given up our haste belt for Swiftwind and our ac sucks... the AGI/STA/DEX/MANA/HP all go hand in hand with the fact that our jolt spell is worthless in most cases in melee combat, we tend to take aggro alot. The Int increase is a bonus for skill building and other things.

Rogues would also benefit greatly, but they have a hellish evade skill.

Bards are plate class there fore have very nice armor with high ac coupled with thier twisting techniques...

So hands down, if it were to go to melee, it would be a great Hybrid (SK/Pally/Ranger) item.

rogue belt??

I would use this for my rogue.. as his sta is way low and I already have a haste item. anyone think of a better belt for roguish tendencies?
I also don't need str or dex agi that much. but started out life w/ only 65 sta so this would be a great boost.
nice
# Feb 15 2002 at 9:22 AM Rating: Default
I play a paladin but um... i see chanter written all over this, 22ac all/all. and some int to boost. Yes no cha but thats what your other spots are for. Not that this item would not rule for any class accually.
What about Bard
# Feb 15 2002 at 9:17 AM Rating: Default
I know i would personally love this belt for my bard... who unfortunately was only blessed with 70 natural stamina. This belt would best be used by a hybrid IMO!

It is an awesome belt regardless of who should get it.
Maybe this order.....?
# Feb 15 2002 at 8:59 AM Rating: Default
I'd have to think of it this way and in this order, separated by classes.

If a Melee is awarded

SHD - WAR - MNK - RNG - PAL - BST

If a Priest is awarded

SHM - CLR - DRU

If a Caster is awarded

NEC - ENC - WIZ - MAG

I'm not really sure why you have wis casters listed ahead of int casters. Seems to me that a bunch of these stats would be wasted on them. Clearly, an SK could use all the stats, which is very nice. However, for INT casters, this would be such an upgrade from most waist items they have available, that I can see their desire for one. I have 3 wis casters (one of each class) and this would be an upgrade for all of them. However, I would have to objectively say that Wis casters would be last in line for this, behind Int casters/SKs (first in line), other melees (2nd) and wis casters (last)

Also, within each group : I'd switch enchanter and necro, so chanter goes first, and cleric and shaman, so cleric is first, since heals at high levels can draw a LOT of hate, and the group is in worse shape with a dead cleric than a dead shammy.
RE: Maybe this order.....?
# Feb 19 2002 at 4:29 PM Rating: Default
First and foremost Anyone wearing an FBSS should stepdown as this is a Greed Item for them, then make this a Need Before Greed roll. Since it's no drop if someone with an FBSS were to win the roll their FBSS should be made into group loot and be given to a caster to hold(who knows you might even roll high enough to win it back) But as for the Order and such all classes should be equal.

Anyone thinking of Ninja Looting this item beware.

THIS IS AND X ITEM
# Feb 14 2002 at 8:19 PM Rating: Good
This is and X item.

Insert any class you dang well please for X

WHY? Cause even my druid YES druid at lvl 55 would love this item no it doesn't have WISdom but it has great stats.

With items like the new druid focus item with 20wisdom all my slots don't have to have wisdom in them.
As for melee chars a warrior or any other would love this item.
20 dex = PROC more often CRIT for more, Kick for
more BASH for more
20 AGI = BLOCK DODGE REPOSTE for more

20 STA = MORE HP not to mention the 75 HP

22 AC = DAMN NICE BELT

Yes my monk (54) would also like this item but why the heck do we have to LABEL it to a class.

INFACT I CHALLENGE ANYONE TO PIPE UP AND NAME A CLASS THAT THIS WOULDN'T BE A NICE ITEM FOR!

I'll sit back and watch the FLAMES if anyone answers my challenge...Why cause there isn't a class in the game that this item would be a waste on. THATS WHY ITS ALL ALL

IF THIS WERE "intended" for SK's or Monks or Necro's then there wouldn't be ALL ALL at the bottom

And, believe it or not, some people actually do _other_ things in EQ besides encounters. At level 60, a tanks opportunity to max out intelligence for trade skills is still feeble - but I imagine that their desire would begin increasing significantly. Granted; this belt really does scream intelligence caster in that _who would be tempted to never take it off_.

Is there anybody out there who is not tired of hearing how such and such an item should go to x class.

Because casters don't need AC and dex? But a warrior or monk needs int and mana?

LOL all/all means all/all. All would benefit from this item. Congrats to whoever was awarded this item, whatever class they may be.....
RE: THIS IS AND X ITEM
# Feb 14 2002 at 10:53 PM Rating: Default
But you have to admit that it'd be better (>better<) suited for INT casters, SK's in particular with the amount of stats and all :-)
RE: THIS IS AND X ITEM
# Feb 14 2002 at 11:59 PM Rating: Default
I do not have to admit any such thing. First of all, there is a superior +100 hp/mana belt off the Summoned Burrower, that only melees can use. Second, the vast majority of int casters that will be killing grieg have maxed int, therefore that stat ceases to be a defining point. Lacking a reasonable supply of decent belts, this belt goes to whoever in the guild most deserves it, class is not an issue.
RE: THIS IS AND X ITEM
# Feb 15 2002 at 12:42 AM Rating: Good
I think you misunderstood...least I hope you did. Of course this belt would be nice for anyone...BUT out of all the classes, the one class that could put this belt to more use than any other...is an SK.

If you argue that point, then you are too stubborn for your own good.

I would have to say the 2 classes that would most benefit from all the stats combined would be either a SK or a chanter. But, yes its great for basically anyone.
