Long Distance Stun/Pull
# Sep 24 2002 at 11:28 AM Rating: Decent
I have one of these bracers and I LOVE it.. I like to pull using my desist with my Cougar Claw earing (less magic used). But the Desist is only relatively short distance... WELL.. this bracer I am 5,000 miles away (JK) and picking up a stun much farther away than with anyother stun spell I have. So, I like it so far..

As for in battle.. with other tanks in a group, I can chain stun while my lvl 50 Monk and 49 Warrior keeps wacking.. and they can do serious damage while I do this with very little hits back on them.
Okay.. I have Deep Water helm -- LOVE IT
Now... I have Deep Water Bracer - LOVE IT
it is time for the Deep Water Breast Plate -- Gonna LOVE IT.
Still new with this bracer.. testing out on other things too. maybe a stun+DD spell on the undead
Fear+Stun? need to look at it more..
In any case I think I can use the stun for a quick escape if needed.. if out of mana..

1700 for both is a so so deal on my server fennin ro where the helm often goes for 400-500 and the bracers for about 700 or so. but still i wouldn't feel bad paying that much for them they are pretty nice.

With the Bazaar zone up, you can pick up this piece for 800 to 1300 pp.
Eh, some problems

I just got this bracer and I have to say I like the AC and the gold look to it, but I got some problems. Casting time on Stun off this baby is what like 6 or 7 secs...when you're in a group and they want you to chain stun the mob, you're swapping 6 seconds of damage for a Stun that doesn't last long at all, most I have ever seen is probably 2-3 second stun, and that's if it doesn't get resisted like it does quite a bit of the time. I'd much rather use the quick-cast Stun we Pallies already have that uses a neglegible amount of the effect is not quite as effective as it can be. Oh well I enjoy it and it can be used to pull pretty well.
Chain Stunning
# Dec 14 2001 at 7:15 AM Rating: Good
You can only cast off one bracer at a time, there is a long cast time but no delay to recast. There is no point in having 2 of these for stuns, there is a good reason to have 2 of these which is 16ac bracer.
Chain stunning tip (if you have these spells)

Holyforge, Bracer, Force, Bracer....rinse and repeat. Pending resists the mob will effectively never swing unless you dont cast fast enough or miss your timing. I've done this combo tons of times and works really well at beginning of a fight before mob is slow or throughout a fight if you have no slower.

Hope that answers questions about chain stunning.

Hehe... yes you could chain cast stun with another bracer. and yes right-clickable effects are slower to cast - (because they are mana-free?!?)

I believe this bracer procs at lvl 40 (helm is 45).

In my opinion, I'd rather be fighting then chain casting stun. If you really need to stun the target get gnoll hide lariats and make the pets do the dirty work. Otherwise, all we do is stun and take damage - (you can't hit targets while you're casting).

Oh well, we all have our opinions about class roles...

Stunning mobs really ticks them off. A pally cannot deal as much damage to a mob as other melee classes, but have other ways to maintain aggro.

this is allways the funniest thing for me when people say pallys can't deal as much dmg who cares my lvl 32 pally has over 2400 hp whit my pally buffs and lay of hands i can take alot of dmg and don't need some one to heal me pallys make great tanks for this reason
just my 2cp

I've realized that a paladin will never even come close to outdamaging a true melee. But we have mana, so we can bring a lot to a group, just as a chanter can.

My #1 task in a group is to chain-stun caster mobs, and keep the tanks healthy when clerics are low on mana.

Caster popped during battle? No problem: paladin breaks off from tank assist and takes the mean finger-wiggler solo. Stun, run behind and bash, cease, desist, stun, run behind and bash...repeat.

Rogue can't break agro? No problem: flash of light, stun, cease, desist, taunt = one pissed off mob ignoring the rogue.

Warrior getting his **** kicked? No problem: step back, heal the dude a few times, stun mob, step in and bash from behind, taunt, flash of light, cease, taunt, desist, one more taunt, and now you have instant agro on you.

I've maintained agro in a group with a warrior, two monks and a rogue. I also became the main healer in that group when the cleric went LD.

Paladins can do a lot, except outdamaging true melees. We can't even outdamage a sissy little ranger, a vile Shadow Knight, or a well equipped drunkard Bard. So get used to it if you are a paladin; heal, buff, stun, and seconday tank. That is our life.

See the difference in "deal damage" and "take damage"?
Ever grouped with a Monk, Rogue or Warrior of your level? Even with my 100+ damage doubleattack (that I have seldom enough) those still outdamage me by far.
And most warriors of your level have 200 to 300 raw HP more than you.

Correction to my last post!

you don't need a second DW bracer... the bracer takes 6 secs to proc and there's no delay!

In other words, right-click - 6 secs to proc - target is stunned up to 4 secs - right-click again :-)

I was grouped a few times today and did nothing but stay back and right-click stun. The groups loved it! Prevented alot of damage! :-)

The bracer has a good range too (was still stunning 100 feet away!)

use the word CAST not PROC. proc implies it happens spontaniously wihtout inpout from the player... and yes, it might be confusing to some....

You have to be level 45 to use this item. I have seen them go for around 3k on Povar server. Wish I knew if you could chain cast stun using two of these plus our own stun spell. Any info on this?

Cast time
# Feb 16 2001 at 6:59 AM Rating: Decent
I know there is a cast time when casting daring with the helm, and it seems longer than normally casting daring, is there a cast time with the bracers? Is it the same time as casting stun? If so, is there a recast time as well and can you use the other bracer or cast stun while the recast time is ticking from the first cast? Sorry about the questions, but would appreciate some info

Actually, the Helm is probably the best. Manaless heals are always handy and i have personally kept group at full health with no pri healer using just this. The cast time on bracer is very long but can be useful quite often. Just don't expect to be invincible with these right click stuns churning out.
