my two cents

The point of these potions is not to get all of your mana back and yes mod rods will get you back mana faster, and yes shamans have canni 4 and 5 and yes theres VoQ and on and on.......BUT canni 4 has a cast of 2.5 mod rods have a reuse of 3 or 4 minutes I believe, and canni 5 has a reuse of 3 minutes. Read the spell effect this is instant. Kinda close to the effect of a mana stone no? If you are in a jam and need to throw a heal, say on a raid or something, or whenever you just want some mana, go to town on these=b might not be cost effective but you can throw a ten dose down faster then a pig at a redneck bar b que. thats 1800 hp lost granted but 800 mana gained, thats what spot healers are for=b Also I have talked to a lot of necs who say they would trade SoS for canni 4 and 5, heres your shot if only for a little while. Ah well, I like em, guess thats all that really matters. See you around the planes.
Who can use?

I would think that anybody could use these, (it says all/all) but I am not sure if my bard could click them since he can not click a transfurgence stick nor get mana any other way but sitting and FT items from what I've seen.

Curious
# Sep 29 2003 at 3:13 AM Rating: Decent
This potion has me curious. I had stop making potions due to the failure rate. I was waiting till i got to 59 to get the aa to reduce the failure rate of the skill. I will try and make these in the morning. I will post information after I check them out. If they truly do as said above I will be using this. I have np burning about 15 of these to get back 900 mana, as long as I have a cleric standing by about to do a cheal. With this new LDoN expansion mana gets to be somewhat low. Lots of slows and haste buffs being cast. Updates to follow

you have me curious why woud you make a potion to use that converts hp to mana when you are a shammy and at 59 you should have canni 4?? as a shammy you should never be lom or oom ever...

Ouch! Horrible HP to Mana Ratio
# Aug 29 2003 at 5:22 PM Rating: Good
180 HP for 60 Mana kinda stinks. The 3 charge Rod of Mystical Transvergance (level 56 magician summon) is 450 HP for 360 Mana.

Still, I think I'll pick one of these up next time I see it for sale. They make 10 shot versions that sell for a few hundred plat. Although mod rods are way better, they are no rent so you won't always have one on you (unless your a magician :)).

If you need to cast a critical spell in a pinch but are just a few mana points short (gate, fear, feign death, etc.) this item could save you and/or your group.

According to Lucy, these are insta cast, no recast time and useable from any slot. So you can hotkey the slot and spam the potion when you need it.

Trivial?

When is this potion trivial?

These are trivial around 115 - 127 they are shaman made and they are 5 / 10 stackable, instant cast as all old world alchemy is.

Might be a market since nerf of mod rods but i doubt it. Verant/SOE has abandoned alchemy and so have I, only do potions for myself anymore.

It seems that this was originally trivial at 86 when it was in the first time, before the alchemy revamp. (Source: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/Skills/Alchemyr.htm) But it is entirely possible that it was changed before it was reintroduced with Luclin. We just need someone to test it at a skill of 85 to make sure it's not trivial then and a skill of 86 to make sure that it is trivial then.
Limited Use

I can see them in limited use but only if they're stackable like sow potions and are priced around 1-200pp. Six hundred mana wouldn't be a bad thing to have around for an emergency, assuming you have 1800 hp to burn. If there's not an insanely long cast time on the potion it could be handy to keep a ten shot one stuffed in one of your packs.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 12 2002 at 9:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These arent shaman made as far as I know of, so the possibility of them stacking is slim to none.

Griffon Feathers + Feverfew

Griffon feathers drop off of old world griffons. Feverfew can only be bought from the alchemy vendors in Shar Vahl and cost 40pp apiece for a barbarian shaman with good faction.

And yes, it is made via alchemy. It was an Old Alchemy recipe from before the revamp long ago, and has now been reintroduced in Luclin. All but a few of the rediscovered Old Alchemy recipes work again. I did not try to make a 5 or 10 charged version but I hear they work with some of the other Old Alchemy recipes.

See this Shaman's Crucible thread for another verification: http://forums.interealms.com/shaman/showthread.php?s=5373d3b9c79139bf17a699b227ff14ca&threadid=19756&highlight=vampiric

You'd need alot of these potions to make a difference, and I'm gonna bet that in the end, they'll not be cost effective.
