I have farmed the minis atleast 1 night a week since the patch and have only seen 1 drop from a female rev. I have still never seen the SK hide drop so if they truely increased the drop rates they didn't increase them by much.

I've camped this piece for about 24 hours now, not as much as soon and still have yet to see it drop. I've seen the Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth drop which made teh mage happy but no essence :( then some chanter in my guild tells me "Oh, that part is easy, I got it in one hour" *sigh* I've camped it for about 7 hours since the patch said they up'ed the drop rate and haven't seen it. Hopefully, the drop rate has in fact increased and its not my like 0.5% or something like that :(

I've been killing in Hate and other guild mates have been killing in hate for the last three weeks and no one has seen this drop. I'm wondering if they made a mistake when they tried to up the drop rate to make it not drop any longer.

No, I have not noticed an increase in drop rate. Have gotten at least 3 stacks of vampire dust since patch. That is at least 40 hours in hate since patch and I would say at least 100 hours before the supposed drop rate increase, this random drop sure is annoying.

Well, i went to hate for first time in like 6 months, soloed for about 30mins at the entrance and 1 dropped. So was I lucky or drop rate changed? I looted for a friend hopefully its MQable.

I just went up there tonight because I saw the message that the drop rate increased. I killed roughly 30 revs and 1 coercer. Earth staff dropped but still no stupid Essence. The epic is so outdated, why is the stupid drop still IMPOSSIBLE to get??? Oh and Athdare, sorry to break it to you, but this is not multi-questable. The enchanter has to combine 4 items in a bag and then turn the combination in. The enchanter himself has to loo the Essence.

I am now up to 284 Forsaken Revenants dead, 4 Coercer kills and 2 YEARS on this and have only seen oNE drop; off a female. I have spent an incredible amount of time in this zone even before it was updated this was stupidly rare. Now? Feh. I have had a friend send me a tell saying one dropped for her while she spent 5 days of play time in hate trying to get her Marsinger Gem. She almost has it now. That one dropped off a male. As a bonus I now have over 4 STACKS of Vampire Dust to make our rogues happy.
Can't -quite- solo in there, even at 65 but with a healer helper or a pet class you can kill the area at zone in and just over the bridge with no problem. Past the Maestro's things get bigger and require more firepower to remain safe.
Good luck Enchanters, like me you will need it.

Up to 5xx revs killed, no essence. If anyone posts they got it the first, second or third trip to Hate I will personally harm them.
Drake hide? dropped.
Staff: Earth? dropped.
Essence? never seen it.
Please change the Rare: line to "Not Bloody Likely In Your Lifetime."

ok Finally after 3 months oif on and off hunting hate it droped!!! OMFG took me long anough,anyways it came froma female rev next door to where Coecer spawns. i killed her 20 30 times and never droped but when i was at wites end and /bug reports and all i cuold do was give up BOOM there it was.:)

I've been camping this for my enchanter on and off for the last few months.
I finished the rest of his epic in 2 days, but this piece makes it not worth it.
I have a blood runed battle wand from Tactics, which is better then the epic and much easier to get.
I think the Plane of hate changes are good, but they made the epic pieces way too rare. With every expansion epics are becoming more and more out dated. They should be easier, since way better items are out there, and much easier to get.

I know this is not going to make you feel better, but I spent about 5 hours in PoH today with some friends and we saw 3 of these drop in that time. We were camping the house just across the bridge from zone in and just killed whatever popped on the bridge and in that house and a few more mobs around it...
Edit: And yes, I AM talking about the no drop white powder looking thing, not the black powder, tradeable vampire dust.

I've been to PoH last 5 days/nights, 8+ hours each day/night. Cleared IZ to Maestro several times each day/night. Killed countless Forsaken Revanents male/female and killed Coercer T'Vala 12 times. Still no drop of the essence and I'm getting pretty pissed off. The drop rate of this item is INSANE and needs to be changed. Maybe make it alittle less rare. The way I see it is, if an enchanter has done the rest of the epic quest (which I have), then they deserve it instead of camping PoH for hours upon hours to only log off empty handed.

Been to Hate since May 2003. I have camped this 1 item for my epic and still NOTHING. I have sent feedback and bug reports and will continue to do so. The drop rate on this item is INSANE.
Which drop it more females or male? is it just coercer t'val or her male counterpart as well?..sorry been up here for over 46 hours gaming time with no luck...going just a bit batty

I do so beleive it drops off of both, as it is a random thing sometimes. You should get a group and go on a spree of killing them. Females or males! You might want to have a powerful cleric and at least 3 other melees if you are a small character. If nessisary get a power leveler to watch out for you.

Had one drop today on Zeb (18 Oct 03). It is a pain, be patient... very very patient (beer helps). Only one dropped, and its random on any forsaken in zone still. just kill them all!! Good hunting. <sighs in relief>

Dropped 2 nights ago off a forsaken revenant near zone in. I saw 20 min till rot. So left group and fetched very happy guild enchanter. Looted it with 4 mins remaining. Charged him the 64pp for the Fulligans Soulstone of Hate. =P

Track, pull, kill, deal with adds from pull, track pull, kill nonstop now for 3 days, roughly 5-6 hours per night, and no drop yet. What is with this....

I think I have killed about 1000 Reverants now. I have not seen Essence of Vampire drop yet. This is not a joke.

Have killed the ph and the Coercer about 100 times...and been in hate the past 3 days straight killing every rev on track...still no drop. It has to be the rarest drop in EQ...and very frustrating.

I visited New Hate 14 times hunting for this.
Killed many revenants with no drop.
It must be very very rare off the random revenants spawns.
Finally got it last night off of the placeholder for Coercer TVala in the NW corner house. Killed one Coercer, then 2 placeholders before it dropped. I was told that it is merely rare off the mobs at this one spawn point.

I have done 6 old hate complete non-Inny clears (3 were Inny clears) and I have not seen one of these drop.
I have been in PoH prob another 34-36 hours just killing stuff and these have not dropped.
I would conservatively say I have seen 500-550 of the female mobs killed with no drop.
This is the most rarest drop in all of EQ imo.
Edit - I think allot of people get this confused with Vampire Essense which is for another quest and is tradeable.

Only one of our enchanters makes the trip. 2 hours of general killing and bingo, not 1 but 2 Essence of a Vampire. The enchanter got his and the other was deleted for giggles when it was determine there were no interested enchanters we could find to make the trip. Oh well.

Can anyone give an idea of how rare this is? Maybe post how many Hate raids you've been on and how many you've seen drop? I've been to 6 or 7 Hate raids in the last month and have not seen a single one drop. I've asked friends who go if it drops while they are there. So far not I and no one else I know who does Hate has seen it drop. *sigh* I'm down to my last two pieces, this and shissar. I'm hoping to get this one soon so I can focus all my attention on shissar, but it seems so darn rare. =(
Update: 11 raids and I finally got my essence. Yay! Shissar here I come. ;)
Note: I also thought it worth mentioning that the essence does drop off both female and male revenants. Some people have said it's only the females because they are the enchanter mobs, but this isn't so. The essence does drop off males also because I got mine off a male revenant. =)

Can you MQ this ?
Nothing in the Enchanter epic can be MQ'ed due to the combine then turn in nature of the quest.

That's not an entirely accurate statement. The original turn-in to Stofo Olan in Erudin can be mq'd. An enchanter in my guild had to get a friend to get the vial from Reania Jukle (hopeless faction problem). His friend charmed the ghoul scribe and got the vial of ink, then mq'd the turn-in to Stofo. Also, of the long list of items needed for the combines to make the four staff segments, one is tradeable: Cazel's spoon.
one I found worth looking at was the Opal Dark Briar / Order of Three axis - might just make your day.

Noone has said anything so I will, this stuff is VERY rare it makes the hate part of the enchanter epic very long :(

Even if there is not so much pally drop on the first floor, i will help u there everytime u wanna raid there (if u are on mithaniel marr).

Now, i dont want to be incivil, but think about the real limit it is to try to get your pally epic (Fiery defender) ... U have to wait to get the 2 books from naggy and vox before leveling to 53... so on one hand it is quite long as there can be only one raid by week (not few hours of pop like "normal" mob in hate) and it seems that the naggy drop rate is quite low /.

Actually, you can also get the books off of the Kunark dragons, and the drop rate for them is slightly higher.
