Okay, the mob itself is a rare spawn but is the mask rare or common? Random number generator loathes me, how many would I have to kill before getting it?
Had this drop for me tonight! WOOOOOT! Looted it with my lvl 40 warr whom I had camped in ME for twinkage. I killed the Seer maybe 20 times; almost always dropped the shard every one is looking for... and finally the mask!
Trying to get my shards. I killed the seer one time he droped the rotten mask and no shard. I had a level one SK twink camped there and he looted it.
I'm a 65 ench. I soloed him with a DC pet from the scout spawn area. The scouts are the place holders for seers and other rare cavemen types. Only the rares drop the shard. The seer gates too by the way so make sure when he does gate he doesn't bring friends.
Killed the Seer last night for my shard and this dropped. Was a happy surprise! Group was 51 war, 56 monk, 56 shammy, 56 ranger, and 65 cleric. Was super easy, and we'd already been chain pulling half the zone for a few hours. Ranger won the roll. Gratz again, Willoak! :) heh I got my shard.
just wanted to let people know that I successfully solo'ed the seer last night and Im a 60 Druid, was a tough fight but managed to pull it off, what I did was charm a wolf in the zone and sent him in, the wolves are some bad ****'s and he wiped him fairly quick, Chealed the pet about 4 or 5 times and he went down, didnt cast any dots or DD spells on him..dropped the stupid hammer though but I got my shard woot!! 8 more ta go Lol..so for all the druids out there he can be taken out solo cause we rock!! see ya
Seer also seems to drop a crappy hammer 12/23 or something similiar, killed him 3 x and not one shard or visor... i hate him sooo much. Anywho a 60 chanty + 61 sk can take down the scouts/seer no problem slow almost always hits 90% just have enough aggro when ya get em camp to not beat on the chanty too much or wuss out and use root, both chanty and sk had hasted pets up (root let chanty get hit once for chanty pet to add) on rare occassion there are traps between the first rock and 2nd rock, but fd or mez (im using GoK but i think daz will also work)... my sk has gotten 4 blue xp killing various blue and light blue spawns waiting for this dumb shard. 62 halfway there and all out of hope.
As confirmed here the Seer Drops the Shard an This(amoung other things possibly). Of the 5 or so times that I have killed the Seer he has popped everytime at the 'Rock' area where the 3 Spawn Goranga Scouts are. A few other named spawn there as well and pulling from there can be somewhat perilous depending on your level. I believe a group of 55+ is neccesary to insure safety hunting this mob, although you can certainly get lucky or bring more than one group. It can be done with as little as 4 people in my experience. When he dropped the visor for me we had overkill at the time, all 62+ except for me at 58. We had a Cleric, Shaman, Warrior and myself and simply stood at the corner of the wall nearest the scout spawn and took all mobs. This is a fairly rare drop. I have been told I was lucky to have killed him 5 times and get it. Hope this helps those who wish to hunt for this item.
We dropped him last night and he is yellow to me (57). The key that he may be carrying the visor, is that he will not be carrying the hammer,(wich he wasn't last night:)).
Sadly, as a face item, this does not have a graphic. It is however, still a wonderful item to have.
As for hunting in this zone, a well balanced group of low 50s can handle the zone in area and toilers. A balanced group of 55's can handle the 4 arm pulls. For duoing a good 56 fear class and melee do just fine. For soloing, it is all class based of course, but I have seen level 58 wizzies quad toilers, along with druids. Necros past 56 can easily do their neato tricks. Melee class soloing is a bit tougher, as these mobs hit relativly hard and have a lot of hit points. At 60 I CAN solo there, but prefer to hunt elsewhere using root/snare arrow kiting. Note: levels are not absolute, but intended for your tpical player with average equipment and skill

Got two seers in one night last night. Both dropped the shard (I have seen them drop nothing but the hammer, including not dropping the VT shard) and both dropped the mask. I got the first (58 monk) and a 60 monk who joined later got the second. No other classes in the group who could wear it. 8)
3-4 weeks off and on. 60-80 placeholders. 15-20 Seers. Finally dropped today. He wasn't holding a visible hammer. That's the cue that he'll drop the mask.
Wrong....I killed him yesterday, had some craptastic 6/30 hammer, a shard for VT, and the mask, the wizard who was there for the shard (and really could have taken him by himself, just didnt realize he was this easy =P) let me loot the mask for aiding him. Very cool.
Oh and yesterday = some day early in august, its summer so i dont really keep track, but he still drops it then.
Heya folks, Kraggan Swampdragon here, level 51 Beastlord.
You can actually hunt in this zone with a group in the high 40s to low 50s. Just tonight my group consisted of myself (51 Bst), my girlfriend (50 druid), a 50 cleric, a 50 enchanter, a 53 wizard, and a 48 shaman. Once the wizard or druid had the pull snared, I kept it blind with repeated castings of Flash of Light while my warder chewed it up from behind. Very little damage taken and we got some nice drops.
Is the Seer you're all talking about the Goranga Spiritseer? He's a tough ******* and you cannot interrupt his spells. 52 Paladin here, had several stuns land, constant bashes, had other stunning as well, but it never effected his casting ... same one who drops this mask? We killed about six of them at the Goranga Tree and they never dropped anything.
A very well equipped 45 might find a group near the zone to DP (I have so, keep your flames to yourself). Plan on 50+ for the least trouble in getting a group here. The weaker mobs hit for 130s and go up from there. Goranga warriors hit tanks for 160s and finger wigglers for 200.
Many "groups" are actually pairs of groups, usually guild-oriented raid/exp combos.
Think Karnor's Castle type trains with tougher mobs .... and ... what! 8 gorangas headed for the zone, and some can neither be stunned nor mezzzed? Clerics will be busy indeed.
In fact a group of one warrior 58, a cleric 56, and a ranger 51 (with swarmcaller which procs a slow at 35%) can easly down all mob, named are really hard, but we can down them ...
The secret is easy get a slow and all thing in this zone are available for you ... as mainly all zone on luclin and all new zone i think
Camaie SleepingWoodyElfy :zzz :zzz Professional Corpse runner of the 51 coffins From the Blood and Guts on the torvonillous server
the goranga seer pop right infront of ds peaks . you will see 3 scout infront one of them is ph for goranga seer, we fought them yesterday we got 2 hammer =( , guess will try it again to get the mask
It drops off one of the grape apes in zone. Named a Seer. Guild group zoned in to camp for the night and the guy was standing at the zone line. We killed him and the bard won the random on it.
