As a Necro I rarely get hit (thats what pets are for and pet tanks) and all the way up to 51 when you max your Meditate this robe makes a HUGE difference. and with the mana it is basically a +7 int robe with saves. Not shabby at all. If you want AC then set up your battle robe and med robe as hot buttons and switch them in between medding and battle. I wore this robe up to 51, and with a horse it is even more valuable. I still own it as it is either ultra rare or so horrible everyone keeps them. Call me sentimental or stingy. So as far as sucking ,well thats in the eye of an untrained babbling moron who knows little of what they speak.
I do have to agree with the BCR preference. But not eveyone has access to BCR (Altho twinking is getting out of hand now, I recently saw a lvl 9 necro with one, and a lvl 4 warrior with a wurmslayer). I think this robe would be a great lvl 25 to 30 quest item, mabey even lower levels than than. If you do some looking you will find that there is a huge gap for decent quest gear, if you want anything that is great you need to be lvl 35+. The stats on this robe are ok but not suited for characters over 35+, At that time there all running around with BCR's or the equivelent. I have just entered my 31 circle and would have dont a quest for this robe in a heartbeat 10 levels ago.
this looks like it doesn't have ac i dunno maybe it's a bug oir something but alot of items i'v seen from luclin has alot of raise to all stats and no ac. i have ring of capture which is like this 2 to all stats and resists and no ac. this doesn't have all resists and stats but u get the picture... i hope
A Robe with no AC? That's got to be an error... I can't see why any caster would want this. The stats aren't great, no AC, and +5% to meditate isn't that thrilling.
Are you kidding? At a skill of 250 in meditate you get an additional 12.5 to your meditate skill, that is more than gaining two levels would have gotten you pre 250. Add the cloak of truth and you're at 25 points of additional skill, five levels worth of skill after you're already capped. Those two items alone would make more of a difference than clarity and probably C2 when you're medding.
As reported at the Dallas fan faire, apparently no skill can be raised above the 252 hard skill cap. If you had 250 meditate skill, then no matter how many meditate modifiers you had, your skill could never go above 252. These items aren't terribly useful for characters that are already near or at the hard skill cap, but for anyone whose skill is well below that hard cap, they stand to gain quite a bit from these skill modifiers.
Direct quotes from the Fan Faire, this says cant get any skill over 252.
Question: Can you explain how the % bonus items work?
Reply: "Those items work like this. They will raise you above the class caps, so if your skill cap for your class is 100 then they can let you exceed that. They will not however let you exceed the hard cap at 252. So if you are level 60 and have say 252 in meditate then a bonus item for meditation isn't going to help you regen mana faster. Not to say the item still won't be useful to you for its other stats."
