Hello???

Shamans need AC and hitpoints first of all. The more hp you have, the more you can CAN yourself away. Wisdom is always nice but AC is more important.

Again... the old AC vs Wis argument.

All dependant on how you play... my personal meatshield is excellent at keeping taunt, and it is much more important for me to have the mana to heal and buff him (i.e. wis and mana stats) than AC.

Now on the rare occasion that I solo, or I am grouped with someone unable to hold taunt, AC most definitely comes into play. But I still rely on my source of mana for rooting and dotting.

For my style of play, give me wisdom and mana stats. You can dress how you see fit =)

The AC thing is sort of dependent on how you play until you get above 50. Above 50 you're gonna want to replace this item anyway. Personally, I enjoyed having a higher AC at these levels - I rarely ran out of mana when soloing, but I liked being able to tank for a bit when I had to. Of course, I'm a barbarian and started with higher wisdom than some.

Remember, WISDOM DOES NOT GIVE YOU MANA. Wisdom just gives you a bigger bucket to hold your mana in. If you have 1000 mana at the moment and your mana pool can hold 2000 mana, you're at 50%. If your mana pool can hold 1800 mana, you're at 55%. As long as you can cannibalize and keep the pool from going dry, there's no real need to have a bigger mana pool.

Once a shaman gets over lvl 50, it's impossible to play even in a group without getting aggro a good bit of the time. Mobs just do NOT like a 67% attack speed reduction, and a DOT that does 140 points per tick really gets their attention, too. Even root doesn't help when the mobs summon. When there is no chanter present, the shaman gets to "ghetto mez" by rooting off to one side, and you gotta tank a bit for that as well. And at that level, every HP you lose costs you mana in the form of missed cannibalization opportunities.

Very well stated Weissblau, and alot there to think about, especially since I am nearing that 50+ range (I am currently 45th). So far agro has not been a major concern for me, but looking forward to tougher and sneakier mobs in the near future...

I am searching hard for that oh so elusive Wis/AC balance. Thanks again for your post <bows humbly>

Shaman HP = Shaman Mana

Its "only some plats more" if you are playing EQ as a market rather than a RPG :)) WHAT level do you need to be to get the scavenging bracers on your own power? :)

I got one after a 30 minute camp in Warslik Woods off the Iksar Bandit Lord. My pally was level 32 at the time and was a relatively easy solo for the reward. Go get ya one!
