Necros need cha also

Umm necros need CHA also. A necro charming undead rules especialy since we can FD when our charm breaks...umm chanters lets see you pull that one off haha
Charisma

Just FYI, Charisma is an important stat to a Necro as well. Fear and Charm spells rely on CHA to determine how long they last. I'd love to have this on my necro, mainly for the 15% EVO boost though.

My 65 ENC finally got one tonight! I must say that was quite and experience!

After reading all that has been said below--I would have conclude that it makes a great item for any PURE caster, but mostly for ENC class.

That CHA kinda gave it away as an ENC item. After all what would a wizzy do with Cha but wipe is butt with it? Cha for an ENC is just as crititcal as INT for a Wizard. Since some of our spell line does make use of Cha beside making us look gorgeous in the venders eyes. 1. Example would be Mezzing. Higher the Cha = more successful mezzes. As for Evocation--sure wizzy can lay claims to this one...but wait a sec--necro, Mage, and ENC also get nukes--toughie. NOT to mention the fact that Wizzy can lay claims to MOST uber caster items out there--with HIGH INT. or Evocation or Haste of Solusek etc so it's only fair to say that NOT ALL GEAR are made to be giving to Wizzy. In addition if someone have an ENC they can look up under AA stuff and they will find that--damn my eyes! We got SCF and FoM too!! So YES, (nod your head with me boys and girls) ENC can also function as a nuker as well. =). ENC are Like Druid, and BARD class--we are like the Jack-of-all-trade-class and NOT really master of any. We can Nuke better then a necro. But a necro can OUT DOT any class. We have Dot too but it would be a child play compare to Necro and druid. Anyway I am offtrack, With SFC3 using lvl 64 NUKES Insanity. We can proudly get a critical of (2200 /flex.) and that extra 15% Evocation Enhancement will really help out on our fizzle rate since we don't have any mana perservation item (there are but it's like 100Kpp + on CT =/)or AA for Evocation.

So is this for NECRO: Good INT: YEP. and CHA? WHAT IS THAT?! LOL
So is this for Mage: YEP. (good INT) As for CHA--I'll show you some CHA *start summoning*
So is this for Wizzy: YEP. CHA? Let ME put it on my Toilet Roll.
So is it good for ENC: HELLL YEAH!! YAY for chanty!!

That is bull you are focusing on the Cha, big deal! That 15% evoction is a major plus for a wizard and the int isnt bad at all for me this is an ideal Wiz item

Firstly, the five magic skills (evo, alt, con, div, abj) cap at 235 for all casters (int casters and wis casters). And your casting skill goes up to 235 no matter what you're specialized in... specializations are the ones that allow one skill to go to 200 and the rest are capped at 50.

Secondly, no skill can go over 255 as that is the game's hard limit (only 0 - 255 limit for skills, due to how much information you can store in a byte).

Thirdly, if you look at mage nukes, only their rain spells are evoc based, their DD nukes (including black steel and sun vortex) are conjursation based, and that is what most of them care about, making this item probably even less useful than for chanters.

And lastly, this mob is doable with 8 - 9 people very easily (keep in mind we are not elemental, heck we're not even in VT) and this item usually goes to anyone who wants it... And officer loot is a perfectly good loot system, not everyone uses DKP. just fyi last time it dropped it went to a necro. 8p

A wizard would probably draw the most use from this item, but any int caster should be proud to wear it.

Fire Bolt of Tallon, Mages biggest nuke. Evoc based.

I wasnt saying nuking class only, I was merely disagreeing that is a chanter only item, and pointing out how it would be usefull to others.

Question: this would not effect your specialization cap ?

That had to be the stupidest thing i have ever heard, Yes enchanters get a nuke but its recast time is ****. Any class can use this item now just a freaking enchanter. as for SFC im pretty sure anyone with mana gets that in archtype, This item is usefull for any class dont be such a ****** claiming it for one of the classes that can use it, if it was ment for only an enchanter it would say ENC only
RE: wooohoo Got ONE!
# May 08 2005 at 11:30 PM Rating: Default
I have to disagree with the above post as well. If you're basing the usage of it for an enc solely on one stat it possesses, that throws most plate armor squarely in pal, SK, cler territory because they have WIS or INT on them, which warriors obviously has no use for. Forgot the +15% to taunt it might have on it, because clearly that 12 wis means it should go to a cleric.

I know just as well that that item would be useful on a pally or a SK, just like this item would go decently on a mage. But I think the 15% evocation leans towards wizzes mostly, given that I believe all of their nuking spells are evocation based, while mages may have that one powerful one.

We just did this mob last night. This and Bile drencehed robe dropped. Chanters are NEEDED on this raid because the wormbait minnows(4) have to be mezzed the WHOLE time you are fighting the restless burrower. Infact the more chanters the merrier so one doesnt have to work on 4 at one time. As far as who should get the belts. Any caster with enough DKP and who gets the roll. I wouldnt want it, I like my Belt of Dwarf Slaying, but I know many who did last night and many more who will next time we take it out.

Just so you know, not all Enchanters sit around not working on their other casting skills. Some of us actually sit around casting and recasting spells, just to get our skills up. Having said that. drooooolll... I feel like Homer Simpson at a free doughnut tasting party.

Now this is the kind of item that makes a chanter go "gaga." Cha, Int, Mana. Now the question needs to be solved, "Who drops it?"

Oh, and They need some new item graphics. The Pearl necklace graphic for a belt is "tired."

chanter?
***** that ANY casters dream belt

I do know it would be nice for a chanter cause of the cha but I mean COME ON +12int on a belt /drool
and then the +15% evocation (nukers use that for their nukes if you didnt know) and then the little bit of xtra HPs and the mana bonus rocks too /drool

I'm gonna shut up now and go clean off my keyboard of all this drool
RE: Every enchanter's dream belt
# Feb 06 2002 at 2:44 AM Rating: Decent
What you have to understand is this. +15% only addds on if you are NOT maxxed out on that skill. So many wizards are usually maxxed out on evocation, so the +15% would mean absolutley NADA to him. But a chanter is never maxxed out on evoc. but will definatly help them with their few evoc spells. This is the 'Chanter Dream Belt'

edit: I am wrong.. I have learned since this post, that you DO infact get gains from the % over your maxxed ability, hence the reason why these gains are in game now. Plz disregard my words for above =) But.. this is still a sweet chanter belt =)

*BZZT!* Wrong. % mods allow you to go over the cap. Take a 49 rogue with 200 in lock picking... that's their cap. With a new patch that fixed their skillmods for lockpicks, I believe they can pick locks that require 201 skill. Or a melee with a +%weaponskill gets an atk increase with no other visable means for that increase (ie, strength).
RE: Every enchanter's dream belt
# Mar 29 2002 at 2:37 AM Rating: Good
You are correct that +Skill mods let you go over a class/level cap on skills (ie. a level 49 rogue with 200 lock pick, as per your example). However, they do not let you go over the 252 hard cap on skills. 252 is the absolute limit on any skill, and nothing can put you over that.
RE: Every enchanter's dream belt
# Mar 16 2002 at 1:57 AM Rating: Decent
Cap on spells is higher then on Rogues Lockpicking. Awizzy by lvl 49 might be very close to 250 actually.

WOW!

My 56th level enchanter can really dig those stats but...

15% to evocation?

I would default to all wizards and other nukers.
RE: Gagagagaga!!!
# Feb 07 2002 at 4:01 AM Rating: Decent
Actually the +15% would make it to go enchanters. The additions to skills don't actually do anything but boost your skill up. For wizards with maxxed out evoc this isn't even worth it. It would boost it up to 252 and they may fizzle a tiny bit less.

Enchanters however usually don't work on their evoc as much as their alteration. This would cause a lot less fizzles with enchanters, making it a very valued item for them. Aside from the charisma.

Sorry for the tangent rant but i gotta:
Dear Bindabik,
Im sorry to verify this-but you are correct-you will never ever ever ever obtain this item. This is true not because the mob might be too hard or the zone too inaccessible, but simply because of your attitude towards the game and also towards yourself. You are level 40-and from the looks of it you plan to be level 40 for a long long time.how you got that far thinking the way you do i have no idea.It is really sad that you would automatically limit yourself in such a way.It is as if you play the game out of habit, not because it is fun or because you love the challenge.
When i see an item that is much much better than the one i am currently using i immediatly want to find out where and how to get it so i can start making steps toward its aquisition, instead you seem to say "woe is me,i can not do it".This is wholly depressing. To me the most fun aspect of EQ is watching your character grow and develop thru time and effort~whereas you seem to think that you will be level 40 forever and that there is no chance in hell of that ever changing.
Moreso than a huge guild or a high roll, items like this require first and foremost Desire and Motivation to obtain.while you seem to desire this object, you lack the motivation that it will take to acheive it.
PLEASE understand that i am not trying to flame you-instead i am trying to inspire you.if you work hard and stay focused on your goal, nothing is impossible.Look at it like this-the first time you logged in,your character was level 1 and had no more than food, milk and a peice of paper with a chore to do on it.look how far you have come-despite your beliefs the journey is far from over at level 40,and will continue long after you aquire this waist item.

Also, i hafta add. It's not so much a UGE guild, as a GOOD guild. And what better guild than one made up of close friends, whose sole intent and purpose (besides being really damn cool to have a guild that can say YES! we DID this) is to help each other get some cool stuff? Is my guild a huge power guild? no. Can my guild take, say, NToV? no. can we form up some groups, come screaming out of no-where, and have a really damn good time with each other? you better beleive it =) Get a guild full of friends, and it's AMAZING what odds and ends end up in your inventoy (like my iksar hide mask, which instead of selling my guild gave to me =)

A bit harsh Sonorn, but true enough. Seems your heart is in the right place, but diplomacy isn't your middle name.
Don't get me wrong I agree with everything you say and hope others can read your post and learn to apply those thoughts to the game, an more importantly to their real lives (although if everyone starting applying such theories to real life there would soon not be anyone playing EQ).
Good luck to all. I hope everyone takes Sonorn's post for what he seems to be trying to say and not reply back with rants.

actually, the +15% evoc would be good for chanters too. Level 55 enchanter spell Lagarn's Lamentation i believe, is evocation, stun/mana drain. I"m sure there are other evocation spells, but that's all i can think of off the top of my head (not an enchanter). The 15% evoc would be quite nice for an enchanter that hasn't been doing much nuking, and thus has a low evocation skill.

That said, this belt would be good for just about any caster that can pick it up.
Okay!

Uhm by the time you get to a level where you can hunt in the zone that this drop you will also have entered into the wonderful new lotto system where the people who run the raid will also be determining who is elligable to roll on this item. So that will mean to you if you ever reach 55+ that you will find on the enchanters on the raid will be rolling. And as far as zone its dropped in I can guarantee if you ever make it to level 55 you will find that an enchanter of that skill will be welcome in just about any guild that goes where this drops so drop the poor me attitude go level and make sure you can do your job well.
