Procs just fine with this pet. If you want to realy help your group with the extra DPS. the buy a couple and give him one. Mind the fact that it doesn't DW but if it gets a few lucky procs off , the mob could finish it off befor anyone can notice.
Be a good Drood and give your special pet a "hand". I do.

Is this really worth it to get or am i just going to be wasting my time?
I just got my pet spell yesterday and only had a little time to practice. I'm pretty sure I sucessfully gave him a one handed slashing weapon. Problem is I did not have a chance to compare attacks with and without the weapon, but he was doing slash damage.
The other thing to note was my high level spells like SOE and Regrowth stick to him, I thought he might be too low for them.

Well, my druid has this pet, and with full druid buffs, PLUS a mage pet kit (haste mask, 500hp belt, summoned weapons) and with pet haste off my clicky neck item, I tried using pet against a LIGHT BLUE wyvern in CS. Rooted it, dotted it x3, with winged, drifting, and DoD. Sent in pet. Wyvern chewed the pet up, and I had to call it off, and wait for the dots to finish the wyvern off.
Druid pet seems to be ONLY useful for extra damage in a group, when there is a tank present, for killing geens, and for fear kiting animals. Well, also can give you a few seconds to evac, if you're root rotting something like elysians, and the snare and root drop together.
Not a useless pet, but certainly one of the weakest pets in the game.

Just FYI, any level spell can be cast on any level pet.
Awesome for classes like necro's that get pets very very early. Just have a shammy or druid cast Focus, Pot9, etc on it and let it go to town. ;)

have a high level int cast with research skill at or around 200, get the loy book from Gunthak a quill and parchment. give him the Coin of Vex and Words of tenacy and with luck youll have spell. I had coin ( 50pp in Bah-zaar ) and a friend ( ThANKS Hadesspawn on test ) had the words. Now I have the Chick magnet cute as a bug, bear pet :)
btw his pathing does stink running through Gfey I lost him like 10 times and he was sow'd too. Maybe all pets are this way-- I dunno

Just have your pet guard a spot in the area you pull your quad to.
Now, when you run through with quad, make sure you have damaged them some, or your pet will break up your nice neat herd fast.
The extra damage on them makes your quad capacity get just a notch higher 8)

Was hunting with a group in Icewell Keep and saw this spell drop.
And yes, those of you on Dain faction can hunt there. I was there for about four hours and was still Ally to the Dain. Just hunt there a bit, then hunt go tag giants for faction afterwards.

Benefits
1. In groups you sick the pet on the mob after your tank gets the mob down to 80%. Casting Savage Spirit on your pet raises it's attack by 80%. It is a great compliment to your DoTs at level 55 and once cast it is manaless. It can also hold a mob for a few second while you cast Lessor Succor or Egress.
2. On raids do the same as above unless fighting anything with an AE (area of effect), some planes, and most dungeons. Pathing is a big problem is some zones like Kael and Katta.
3. Great for faction! Go to a places like Steamfont (killing kobolds), Qeynos (killing gnolls, or Highpass (killing gnolls). You can even take him to Blackburrow and raise that Corrupt Qeynos Guard faction you lowered by getting your precious Qeynos Badges. =)
4. Time-saver for farming. You can quickly kill spiders in East Karana, bears in West Commons, or even Orcs in Crystal Caverns.
With the new pet dialog windows there is no real reason (other than finacial) that you should not have this spell. Shell out the dough and do the things you always wanted to do but never had the mana.
Hazards
1. Pathing.
2. They attack anything that attacks you. This is not a good thing when in groups. Make sure you are safe to med and sit your pet down.
3. Low attack and hps. They are level 30 I believe and can be taken down in just a few hits by anything close to level 50.
4. Mana. Don't cast the pet spell if you are moving a lot like in Kael or Chardok. You'll just have to recast the spell.
Enjoy your pets and take care of them. They love you!

This pet can be useful if used correctly. It only has 700-800 HP's so it should not be used as a tank for higher level mobs. It is very useful for farming pelts and such. If used in a situation that you have a tank, you can let the tank build aggro, and sick pet on mob after, like having another DoT. I used it in The Grey last night, with a chanter and wizzy using chanter pet as main Tank. It worked flawlessly. I love my little pet.

I've hunted in Cobalt Scar for months now, and either I am the unluckiest player in the world, or spells do not drop off of Wyverns

ir doesnt drop off wyverns period... MAYBE (though i highly doubt it) off of the Named Yvolcarn but he gives faction hits so never tried him

Bah this post was meant for another spell. But as for this one Can this spell possibly drop off all of the Mobs listed? I was led to believe that this was a Plane of Growth spell only. Seems like a alot of the spells are being linked to many many mobs, i.e. Look at all the spells the Wyverns and drakes drop in CS, and in reality they only drop 4-6 different spells, Oh well Just my 2cp

Never seen a Wyvern drop a spell, just arms and leggs quest gems.

Wyverns in Cobalt do very rarely drop spells, but more common are spell drops of the Cobalt Drakes. Beware of their AoE though. Gotten a couple lvl 44 spells in CS, wizzy and necro spells if i recall correctly.
