I love Tunare's derpressed economy. Just picked up a pair of these in the Bazaar. Total cost: 225pp. Less than the cost of buying the plat bars for just one bracer (with a 45 cha, at any rate).
Get your charisma up (buy a pair of the 25 cha steins, and a few other items to get charisma up to the 120ish range. pricess seem to bottom out around there.
With high CHA 2 plat bars = 210pp
Not that 225 isn't a good deal, that's paying someone 15pp to do the quest :D

That's 225pp for a PAIR of bracers. That would require purchasing 4 bars of plat (420 pp with high cha). So buying the bracers outright saved me 200pp. :D
I think they were being sold by high lvl clerics that had upgraded and were getting rid of their old items for cheap. I've done that at times.

When you get to NK, make sure that Regis is not already spawned. I learned this the hardway. He spawns a bit up a hill, so no one may see him; whereas Zahal roams, so people may kill him and make Regis pop. I found the easiest thing to do, is goto Regis' loc first. If he is not there...bind if you like. Then go camp Zahal, kill him, gate, and crush Regis.
i no longer play a cleric, but these are still a great item for the midseason cleric

These bracers are the crown jewel of the Sol Ro Cleric Quest armor. All the wisdom in the armor is in the bracers. +10 wis for the pair. Quest is pretty easy. Help killing Zahal/Regis is easy to find, just ask a few high levels in the zone. then get a sow and lev, and run to rathe mtn. Get the second peice from the gypsy and than its just a trip to sol ro (after you find an enchanter to ench. the plat). Way easier to get yourself than chipped bone bracelets, and more than double the ac. with 85 charisma and ally faction to merchants, plat cost me 112 per bar. Both bracers cost 448 to quest, about the price of 1 chipped bone bracelet. Too sweet.
They are in game for a long time now and the price droped rapidly. You can get one for about 400pp in EC on Bertoxx, 300pp if your lucky. Nice item for a cleric.
Yes, but my point was, why buy them. cost me 448 to quest both. Now that I've purchased a few basic charisma items, it would have been 420. So if the lucky price is 300 each, 600 per pair, go kill regis, and quest yourself. Repeat. Set for 400+, not 600-800. Then if you get bored, sell them, repeat, and pocket the profit.

This quest has not been disabled. I helped my wife do this last night to her cleric's first set. Gonna go tonight and try to get her a second. Nice items with decent AC and wis.

For the druid asking for these I hope your buying for your alt cleric character since they are Cleric only.
The Wis and AC is pretty good especially for only 250pp. I have a dwarven cleric with cha 45, in my home town the plat bar cost 125 thus 250 since you need 2 for each bracer. Had I asked my ranger freind to buy them it would have cost a 100pp a bar, so 200 for both.
If an enchater asks for a donation to enchant your bar plz move on. There are many freindly enchanters who will gladly enchant for free. (always donate for a clarity though)
The hardest part of this quest is finding an enchanter thats close to where you are, especially since he must be 34/39 lvl not sure which.
As for the killing it is very easy. Zahal practiclly kills himself, but if you want xp he pops near the druid camp, get to him before the druids do. I got xp by blasting him whiile the druids tanked him. (yes I got the last shot) Regis will pop in the north, with sense heading he is easy to find. He hides in the woods so he maybe a little hard to spot from the distance, but hes up there.
The 1st time I killed him I called out for help and a few high lvl ppl came to my aid. After I loaded them with buffs for helping they summarily sluaghtered him. The 2nd time I was with a ranger friend and we were a bit more experienced, we slayed him in seconds.
I never once camped him. I always chk to see if either one is up every time I pass thru North Karna. Plz if you see Regis is up, go to his location but chk to see if someone else is camping him. Shout to see if anyone recently kiled Zahal, they may just be on their way to him and it would stink if you stole what they started.
