With such a short delay between swings, this would probably be a good weapon for training one hand slash. For players who usually use a different weapon skill but want to keep up their 1HS skill, this is a nice find. It's so lightweight that even when not training with it, you could keep this in your pack and not have to worry about emcumbrance.
I cant really see any paladins using this. even with whatever damage bonus they have at thier level it still is added on to the 12 damage they will be whacking for. Yep its fast but not much faster than a walrus tooth. I can see a dual wielder using this, but even then the damage isn't so hot. Go over to dawnshroud and get one of those nifty 8/18 staffs instead. :)
You forget... the walrus tooth is a piercing weapon, and there are a lot more 18 delay piercing weapons out there especially with the low level drops off of Ykesha mobs. But paladins and SKs usually prefer 1hs over piercing, and I haven't seen too many 1hs weapons in this price range with a delay less than 20. As the post above says, this is an AWESOME weapon for one of these classes to train with especially if you simply switch out and use it to hunt down and finish off a running dark blue mob. I'm going to carry it around with me and enjoy this rare find at less than 200pp!

Ghoulbane has a ratio of 2.25 or so, and this has a ratio of 3.16. Why would a pally replace a nice sword like ghoulbane with this? This is a good newbie weapon, on a par with the blackened alloy longsword, only with not quite as good a ratio, and lower delay. a warrior might want one of these, for the extra taunt, but a pally should be dealing damage, not taunting the mob off the warrior. I guess you could keep it in a bag to use when you end up as the main tank. But it sure isn't an UPGRADE for ghoulbane.
By the time you get high enough level where the damage bonus makes this a better weapon than Ghoulbane, you'd BETTER be able to afford something better than this.
