I got one of these on my warrior while in the Gulf of Gunthak on the beach, but this one was shaped like a skull earring and went in your range slot, and it could only be used by i think clerics, druids, and shamans =\

wearable races
# Feb 11 2002 at 2:24 PM Rating: Excellent
The first time I tried to put one of these on my Iksar monk, I got the message that it couldn't be equipped by my race/class/deity. Then my friend handed me another one that was ALL/ALL that I was able to equip. I played with that for two levels, then just now I died, and when I went to loot my corpse, I couldn't re-equip it. Very strange and somewhat annoying. Why did they take Iksar off the list of classes?

Maybe they made it everyone but Iksar because the Ring of Scale, and most dragons that I've ever heard of, dislike Iksars and this IS supposed to be a symbol of loyalty to Vox?

Pre-Kunark, this was all/all. When Kunark came out and iksar were added, they started to retroactively change these to all classes, all races except iksar. Nice of them.

Likely what happened to you was they decided that iksar who already had it equipped could continue wearing it, but as soon as it was de-equipped it would convert to non-iksar wearable only. Unfortunately, when you die, it's de-equipped... looting it off your corpse, you wouldn't be able to put it back on. Basically what happened is they first changed the new symbols that hadn't dropped yet to non-iksar, then they started retroactively changing the old symbols too all but iksar. The one you were given was aparently an old one that dropped before the change that they hadn't got around to converting yet.

I seriously don't know what their logic was in removing iksar from this item... and it can't just be because it's plate, because then they'd have to remove int casters, druids, shamans, and monks from it too... which they didn't. Just iksar.

Every once is a while Verant just decides to whack people with the nerf bat, who knows why? Maybe their logic was that iksar need to be "balanced" against some of their natural advantages, who knows.

Iksar aren't supposed to wear plate. Sort of silly but thats the reason they cant wear this bracer. Sorry my reptilian friends. :(

Weird, huh? You're right, iksars can't wear plate... but neither can pure casters, druids, shaman, beastlords, or monks... but all of them can wear this bracer, unless they're iksar. All classes can wear it, and all races but iksar... that was nice of them, since iksar have the lowest base cold resistance of any race, and have the most need for it, isn't it?! Oh well.

Gave it to my enchanter, who can wear it, despite it supposedly being plate.

Looks like all but Iksar unless I'm missing someone.

And of course my main is an Iksar and I got one while camping the Coronet for the purple headband. It's a nice item and I'd wear it if I could.

Hehe, nope you're not. All classes and all races, except iksar, can wear this.

I got this while we were preparing for a Vox raid, my first one. Amazingly, I lived! However nothing a monk could use dropped from Vox. Only things I got were this, the Zaharn's Coronet, and a Silvery War Axe, all from the goblins we had to ocassionally fight off while outside the chamber preparing to take on Vox.

Iksars cant wear this? Oh yeah..that would be why it doesn't list them under race. By the way, my ogre cant seem to use this small ringmail tunic..

Listen, Mensa-candidate: Maybe that first comment was posted when the item was still ALL/ALL (which it WAS, originally). Dont fool yourself into thinking YOURE the smart one, here...

Well this item originally was all/all, in the days before iksar, vah shir, and beastlords existed. When Kunark came out, they changed all races to all races except iksar (thanks! Give us low cold resistance and exclude as from a cr item that everyone else can wear!). When Luclin came out, they added vah shir to the races too... but still wouldn't let iksar wear it. Oh well.

good call, I hate it how people spam obvious and already stated things as well as ask questions that have been answered by other comments.
