sebilite protector and Overking Bathezid drops this also. Ultra rare from Overking, i've seen more Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse then EoT. I can also confirm Gorenaire.
I've played EQ for 11 years now and always notice when this one drops because of how rare it was back in the days. I have only seen it on the end mobs from the Kunark era and doubt some of the mobs listed here:

myconid reaver
myconid spore king
myconid warrior
sebilite juggernaut
The Sebilis mobs listed above just don't drop the end game kind of spells like Emissary of Thule. There was a lot of rumors of rare raid mob spells dropping in lower Sebilis but after 70 real time days over the years in the zone I'm quite confident this is not the case.

bought on tunare server for 3500 plat which isnt bad seeing that after many days of trying to get dead men floating to drop i bought it for 13k...

My necro has about 189 skill in research and a geerlok. I also make it a point to keep many of the necro words which drop when i can.
Today this paid off: with the words in my bank and a few from the bazaar my necro researched 4 of the level 60 spells i wanted, and this spell too :-) Had just one failure, so very happy necro here, and no months of camping.

Mages can solo PoN more efficiently than a Necromancer at level 53. it's called pull with Malosi and chain earth pets. The trash mobs near the GY don't summon and if the root sticks, they can reclaim their pet for mana gain and cast a new one.
I hate agro kiting because to be able to do it most effectively, you have to switch to 3rd person view. I rather fear kite, and it's quite viable at that level if you have a horse and high INT/lotsa mana gear. Iksar would do it best due to regen advantage for Lich effectiveness.
This pet does rock though. Hits for max 70 and has around 3k HPs (also unfearable). I would wait for LoZ though, unless you like to tank your pet vs. slowed undeads (at 59 you'll need EoT) in places like Veksar. LoZ has better damage mitigation and ENRAGES :)

I am only 53 and I would like to say that ALL the necro pets have a time and place for them. Some tank and some work well with agro/fear kite. Pets are pets take some time and learn how to use them and dont base them on there HP or dmg out put. The 53 pet is great pet for fear/agro kiting; sure it dont have crap for HPs but when ya see him backstab for in the 160's its great. Lets see a mage solo PON at lvl 53. All i really wanna say is try the pet and learn how to use them..its not hard and can be fun.

Indeed this is a very rare spell. I see people paying 50k+ for it. Although they probably started at 20 and got frustrated and slowyly went up, i cant blame them, this pet is pure uberness. it hits hard, heals its sellf and life taps. At times im jealous of the necros out there.
This pet is not pure uberness. Less HP's than the 49 pet, less damaging than the 56, and less max damage than the 53 pet. EoT gets ripped to shreads by the mage epic pet even if the necro has the Encyclopedia. His heals are for 45 pts, are proced, and are the result of the taps.

There 49 pet absolutely does not cut it when it comes to tanking ability of this pet. You have to know what pet is best for what job. THe 53 pet can fear kite well, whereas the 59 pet tanks/groups better. This pet is a HUGE jump from the 49 pet and though the 61 will kick it's ***, it's really hard to get from 59 to 61 without this guy.

Just to state (as I often do) you should be extremly happy if this drops, I have a number of necro friends who have gained 60, became Epic, and Camped EC for far to many hours only to come up empty. I certainly do not look forward to getting this spell when my necro gets to that point in his life
