People suck..
# Oct 20 2006 at 4:38 AM Rating: Decent
On Xegony, this stupid things being sold for 5k. Not sure if people are buying it for that. But the prices on this server are a little out of hand(understatement)

I can see paying 1k for this, since its a good start item for any Wis class (except like, paladins or something stupid) But 5k! Bah, people need to stop being greedy.

(waits for people to stop being greedy)

Check vendors in bazaar
# Apr 18 2004 at 9:47 PM Rating: Decent
I bought this for 2pp from an npc vendor in the bazaar and am selling it for quite a bit more. Check vendors when you roam through the bazaar. You'll find an amazing amount of people selling nice things to npcs for pennies. I've financed the spells and items of many a character by the npc merchant scanning shtick.

Im on RN and @ 158 in tailoring ATM. So I can NOT say I will be successful. I will however make the Paeala Bark Tannin @ no cost. If you bring 15 pieces of any size, though you could trade down in bazaar 1 block = 2 small pieces/bits. Bits preferred but not necessary. And the Superb Rockhopper Hide you will have to bring. Farm it or buy it in bazaar. Last I checked they are going for around 150-250 depending on the time of day it seems. Though I am not Triv @ this. I am getting about a 70% success rate. When I make it for you will save even if I fail on the 1st try, as long as you farm the Acrylia. This is a you scratch I scratch deal. You get the tunic cheaper than anyone will sell it. I hopefully get a skill point. Well happy farming and I hope to talk to you soon.
Got it Cheap

Bought it for 800pp last night in the Bazaar...
I feel better about actually making minze!

I went thru the process of collecting all the ingredients needed: Superb Hides in DSP, Acrylia Ore in DSP, Paela Bark in Shar Vahl, and Patterns in Shar Vahl. Had some pals do some magic and put the ingredients into their proper forms: Hides, Acrylia Bits, Paela Tannin, and the Patterns. Now I have these awesome Studded Acrylia Armors for my Beasltord (almost a full set as I didn't have certain pieces made that my gear was better than) and he is flying!

In other words, I would definitely take the time and effort to collect all the components as the purchasing of the armor isn't as good of a feeling as making it yourself.

These sell on Tunare for 3-4k. There are so many good wis chest items these days and this one is actually priced higher than the Earth Blessed Tunic, which has mana, hp and higher AC than this one, not to mention a few other stats. I still think this tunic is great, but the price here is inaccurate.

i heard you need paela bark taning to make the tunic as well, where do you find this and what is the droping rate of this item?
RE: tunic
# Mar 19 2002 at 9:51 AM Rating: Default
paela bark can be purchased at many Vendors in Luclin cities. Combine it with water in a brewing barrel for the tanning.

I'm looking to trade a Reinforced Acrylia Tunic for one of these on the Ayonae Ro server. Please look me up if you have one and are interested in trading. Fyrewalker or Ivythorne on Ayonae.

The stats on the reinforced tunic are much more geared towards melee's. More ac, more str, and lots of stamina. Here's a link to EQ'Lizer's DB on em:

Thanks!

I have the reinforced one which is excellent. Hard to find a better tunic. I've sent Allakhazam an email to add the Reinforced Acrylia Tunic to their Armor lists. Even sent them a pic of the item.

It really is pretty nice :) Hope you find your trade!

that looks like it would make awsome rogue gear. Sure the ac is kinda low, but 12dex on a tunic is awsome!

Think Beastlord. Many of these pieces have WIS adds and are apparently leather-class. I bet a lot of monks would like a few of these acrylia-studded items, too, for the low wt and stat adds. From what I hear about the components, though, this stuff's gonna cost dearly.

Great for a Druid also. Great for about half the listed classes. Melees, including hybrids wouldn't want due to AC. Clerics probably not either, unless desperate for Wis. Seb Scale coat(3k-ish) is cheaper, and has 22ac 6wis 6str 6 cha, and some saves. I'd give up 2 wis and 2 str for the 5k savings, and 11 extra ac. On the other hand, I'd wear the CLOAK on my cleric. +10 wis, and ac as high as my Rygorr Oracle cloak. But then, 11k is a LOT of cash. Maybe one day!

Let me amend my comment about melees. Rogues may want this, despite the ac, due to high dex. But not other melees.

Expect the price on cloaks to fall drastically within the next month or so as they really start to hit the market. Compared to some tailoring, these aren't too hard to make. The hardest part is getting the Rockhopper camp in DSP.
RE: wow
# Feb 11 2002 at 6:27 PM Rating: Decent
The hopper hides are CAKE compared to the small pieces of acrylia.. There are very few camps to get the pieces you need, and they are very hard to get and very very slow... You are talking about days of camping to get the pieces you need to make this item, and that is if you can get the camp in the first place.. I just camped the acrylia for a buddy tailor of mine, so he could make me a set of this armor for another shami buddy of mine, but let me assure you, no tailor is going to want to give this stuff away! The acrylia is too hard to get!

You can get the hopper hides in no time, the acrylia is the trick!
RE: wow
# Jan 25 2002 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
It's not the rockhopper hides that are the problem. Getting enough small pieces of Acrylia takes many many hours.

Don't see the price falling that far just because of the high demand and lack of acrylia.

Go inside the Cave!
# Jan 25 2002 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
Just go inside the cave in DSP .. there are plenty of RockHoppers inside. Just dont kill the "Acient" or you will spawn the Cavemen guys. The Spawn time is around 12 minutes.
