Two questions about the mob:
- what lvl is the mob that drops this?
- is it surrounded by other mobs?

Well, to answer your questions the mob that drops this is roughly in the high 20's and is a total cupcake. As far as it being surrounded by other mobs.. it all depends. The named mobs spawn randomly, so sometimes you will find them at the edge of the island and other times you will find them more inland. As long as you are not KoS, you should have no problem single pulling them and even if you do get adds they should pose no threat. All of the drops on this island are great considering the lvl of the mobs that drop em and a few of them really shine like these sleeves. I have gotten 2 pairs of the Great, while getting at least 20 of the regular Finespun. They are a rare drop off any of the Greater Elementals ie. Water, Fire, Air and Earth. Just keep killing all the mobs on the island, different mobs will spaw with different items:
1) A hulking water elemental - Drop "a Earthen Gautlets"( AC:10, STR:5, WT:5.0)
2)A greater Water elemental: Drop " Finespun Cloth Sleeves" ( AC:5, STR:3, WIS:3, HP:10, MANA:10, WT:1.0).
3)Great Finespun (details up)

The correct name of these are "Great Finespun ClothSleeves" - yes they are missing a space.

I was porting someone and i saw a greater water elemental and i killed him and got em. 1/6/03

A pair of the Greater sleeves just dropped for me today Just happened to be porting into Twilight Sea and saw him on track. Bingo he had the greater sleeves. I did not even know elementals dropped sleeves. Anyway I am now wearing upgraded sleeves on my druid. Guess I was just lucky.

From what I can tell, and from the hunting I've done there, there is a definate pattern...
First, I haven't camped elemental island for longer than 3 hours at any time...
Second, the time between camping the island has been rougly 12 to 16 hours...
Assuming that you're constantly clearing the island and that the cycle has reset. The pattern is - any of these will spawn in an hours time - Gigantic, Hulking, Swift, and Berzerker, of any element. Approx, 90 after the initial 4, a Greater (of any Element) has a chance to spawn...
From there I'm guessing it could be another 2 hours before the cycle resets.
Again, I haven't tried this all that much (3 times to be exact) and I haven't camped it for very long periods, AND I didn't even time it out, the above are just estimations.
This is just a start of a thread. I'm hoping others can help fill the gaps..

I've had uncommons spawn within 15 minutes of each other (had a berserk earth elemental followed by a gigantic water elemental).
I'm not sure there is a pattern... it seems pretty random. The uncommon spawns occur 1-4 times an hour for me, whereas I've only ever seen one rare (Aero), in ~16 hours of non-contiguous camping.

I am guessing either they r 5 or they updated the stats but haven't received a pic for the 20int one. can someone conirm this for me? cause if it has 20 int SHOOT i will camp it for a month even a year to get thesse babies.
Here is how the stats are listed when doing a search (yes they can be confusing, I guess):
+8 AC +5 Str +5 Wis +5 Int +20 HP +20 Mana +1.00 Wt
+8 applies to AC
+5 applies to Str, Wis and INT
The +20 applies to HP and Mana
+1.00 of course applies to the Wt
Hope this clears up some of your confusion...

I've spent hours upon countless hours in twilight hoping to get a greater elemental to spawn because i want these sleeves. A greater spawned only once for me....and he dropped the lesser sleeves. From my experience, the most common named elementals seem to be the Hulking variety, followed by Swift, then Beserk, then Gigantic, and finally Greater and then the gods (I've seen 1 god so far). Being a necro, it's really hard to compete with the druids to get these rare spawns, but lately i've been grouping with a druid who camps there all the time and even he hasn't seen a greater, they are just very rare.
Spent a whole day here today and killed 4 greater elementals. Greater sleeves never dropped, just the normal ones. There's a rumor going around that they don't drop anymore, has anyone had these drop for them in the last few days?

I was got them yesterday 6-19-02, so they still do drop. Kept the elemental island clean and I mean absolutely clean with my wife and I. Mage and Necro. Just used our pets and sense summoned spell. Didn't cast any spells other than sense summoned, Burnout, Augmentation of Death, and DMF. Killed for 3 hours straight.
Killed countless Swifts, Bezerkers, Hulkings, and about 5 greaters, and only one boss, Terra.
Got Fetish of the Agile too, which seems to be about as rare.

Why isn't this mob in the Bestiary? I'm trying to figure out if it just spawns whenever or is triggered or what. All I've seen on elemental island is the plain elements that don't drop anything :(

I did a little re-search for ya.
you kill the normal elementals and named ones like the Greater Air Elemental will pop.
They are uncommon spawns though.
So you have to kill tons of normal ones to get to the named.

this can be dropped by any greater elemental, their common drop are Finespun Cloth Sleeves, got Greater Finespun Cloth Sleeves of a greater fire elemental
Is this found in the hidden area of Twilight? 55 seems a bit high on a twilight drop, but yes these are very nice sleeves.
55 is too high for this...a 35th of most classes could probably solo this mob fairly easily as long as they aren't KOS to the elementals yet.
No, the mob doesn't spawn in the hidden area; is is a mini-named (as I like to call them) that spawns on the Elemental Island.

You submit stuff by emailing Allakhazam. You probably didn't ***** up, but he's probably got more back-mail in his inbox than you, or I, will receive in an entire year.
At the best of times, it can take something like a week for a submission to be added to the site. So, at the moment, with all the new stuff coming from Luclin, who knows how long it's taking. (Plus you gotta factor in Christmas time!)
The submission that's actually been entered might have been emailed pretty soon after the release of SoL. I doubt this makes you feel any better, but at least it's not something you've lost a commission on. *Grin*
You think there'll be anything left to submit, by the time I get another ten levels and can hunt in these zones? *Giggle*
