You will need 300 in ALL tradeskills to even get the quest for Merchant Alliance book, except tinkering for non gnomes.

you need to have all base tsings maxed 300 without trophy in order to get the quest Fletching smithing tailoring baking pottery jewlcraft

What quest? I can get no questy type response from Kerst Frostrift, the Merchant's Tradeskill Quest coldain in Plane of Knowledge. My baking skill and trophy are maxed so that's not the issue.

you also need to be level 85 to get the quest. otherwise he won't offer it to you. check https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=110861 - merchant alliance tradebook page- where i posted the entire quest in the comments.
