Caller Quest

I am pretty sure that the Tochaka character that this drops off of spawns as part of the Caller Event. I haven't seen him spawn at any other time.

hmm wonder how a shaman could use....i have a Barbarian Spiritist Hammer when i tank, and that has a 250 point proc, i wonder if it is worth it to tank with that or to solo tank with this and then cast while fighting
Stacking?

If you have more than 1 + %channeling item will they stack? I know that there is a maximum limit on the level of skills, but if you are still below this.......
this staff
# Jul 25 2002 at 3:19 PM Rating: Decent
I got this Staff the other day..

Bassically, We had me (56 Druid), 56ench, 60 warrior, 60 ranger, 60 monk and a 60 clr. We had the Ranger and Warrior Stationed at the bottom of the tunnel for the 2 to 3 pops down there.. and had me and the Monk Sitting at the caller to gain any agro when the Fungus things come. We did this rather well for around an hour and 40min, got hairy at a few times, got about 2 named to pop (same guy both times). Then all hell broke loose.. chanter died. everything killed me hehe. say least, we wiped. but once we were ressed up tochaka Was still up!.. we pulled em with no buffs at all and killed him, i won this and sold it for 7k easy . you could prob make more.
Bassic Stratagy to this is let nothing get near the caller. that means even if you have to have the cleric and nukers sitting (they dont hit that tough with group aego) the caller has not much hp. but if you get the mobs close enough he could do enough dmg to Take the exp, so you dont want that eather.. normally on this mode, when he calls more mobs, 2 pop at the bottom and 1 comes from the top, ocasionally 2 top, 3 bottom... This is a REALLY fun quest , i think alot of ppl would enjoy it if they gave it a try.. and its not tottally for lvl 60s. i could see a solid group of 50s doing one of the lower modes

Ok, normally I really REALLY hate posting off-topic, but I have to this time because I'm seriously going to lose my mind sifting through all the items on this site to no avail. There is some out there with +alteration skill mod (I swear it was a 1hb usable by priests and casters but could be mistaken) and can't for the life of me remember the name of it. If anyone can remember the name of item I'm trying to find could you please post the name of it here so I can look up where it is and try to get my hands on it. Thanks :P
how much?

How much would this staff go for on Soluesk Ro?

AN items is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, no matter what all the list prices say.
nice staff
# Jan 21 2002 at 12:21 AM Rating: Default
i got this staff a couple weeks ago, i remember it was the same day my guild formed, we did the quest with the caller in fungus grove, at the end we had i think 2 staffs that droped, this was one of them, other was 2hb and some other items, only 2 people rolled on this thing and i won, was a good thing too cus i had some stupid luclin wep about equal to FS scimy in my primary cus i had to sell my paw to buy a noct blade for 2k which was a really great deal...not sure if the channeling does a lot or anything but the stats are nice and it looks pretty sweet

Another option that you may want to look at instead of this staff and if youre a pure caster of about level 50, is the Phenocryst's Focus. Very nice item and its quested so in effect it doesnt cost you anything but time and a little bit of help from perhaps your guildies or some friends that youve made that wouldnt mind helping you kill just 3 giants in WL.

I dont see the connection this is a weapon and gives you 5% to channeling. The other item is a held stats item. I agree that the other piece is nice and likely easier to get, but these sorta are two very unalike pieces.

I wanna get this one :)

Just channeling
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 19 2002 at 1:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Anyone know what drops this in FG? I'd love one for an upgrade on my druid :)

off what?
# Jan 18 2002 at 8:03 PM Rating: Decent
Any idea what this drops off of in FG? I'm currently still using my Staff of the Wheel, and one of these would REALLY be nice for the resists, Mana, and channeling bonus, as well as for practicing melee for the heck of it. Thanks :)

Not bad but i wouldn't bother upgrading my bone handled with this since the stats wouldn't make much of a difference and i doubt the channeling really does much. If you're getting beat on by mobs at the level required to get this item then it really won't matter if you're interrupted because you will be dead.

Would be incredibly useful for evacs, even if you are being smacked up, if it will help avoid an interruption during an evac, then its a great tool for me.

Correction, you will die a lot faster than at a lower level. Frankly, +5% channelling, even if it only helps rarely in a situation where a caster is getting beat on, is a big deal. Sure, that enchanter won't last long with some OS mob on him, but if he's interrupted on that one chance he has to mez the adds...

The Channelling also won't just help with getting it, it will help with anything Channeling affects. Don't be so quick to downplay the significance of that bonus, its a big deal.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 19 2002 at 9:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There is one thing that you have forgotten. I play a caster most of the time and get beat on every now and again in dungeons. In the past I have died from getting aggro...not any longer becasue clerics that I run with now always buff the casters. You would be surprised how much longer a caster with a set of cleric and shammie and even some druid buffs last as compared to an unbuffed caster. The difference between 1200hp and 2000+hp is enormous and the addition of 100+ ac is not a bad thing either. Only casters I have seen die recently were chanters, and that is only when the situation gets very grim with adds and resisted mezzes and they are taking damage so fast the clerics heals cannot keep up.
Nice Indeed
# Jan 18 2002 at 5:52 PM Rating: Default
As an enchanter I too would carry one of these. Would be interesting to see if the channelling bonus really helps.
Nice

I'd use this over my Bone-Handled Scimitar in a heartbeat.
