After finishing Void E progression and a few events in Tower, I was excited to go visit Zeb and see what kind of yummy pet goodies I could get on my 81BST (78 summon pet spell). I then bought this and rushed back to the guild lobby, bought some solvent, and promptly destroyed my Enhanced Minion IV aug. I popped this little beauty into its place, told my pet to shoo, and summoned a new one.

Read what it says about pet min/max though:
1: Pet Power Increase (85)
2: Limit: Max Level(90)
3: Limit: Min Level (76)

The other raid pet foci also have this, none of them should be working on your 78 pet, because that pet is lower than level 76 base. This is all just to my knowledge, I played a beastlord for a long, long time, always drooling over pet foci that raid beastlords, or group mages/necros could get, that I didn't have access to, so I tried to learn about them.

From what I can recall: It's the level of the pet, not the caster, or even the level of the spell being cast. These lines are only in the spell DB as hints for us to know which pet foci summon alternate versions of pets. So, min level 76, max level 90, means any pet summoned that would have been between 76 and 90. The pet power 50, 55, 80, 85, whatever, are just sequential sets to indicate which pet to summon out of a database of pets, that are linked to certain spells.

It's counterintuitive, but that seems to be the way it works. The level 76 mage alt that posted shouldn't be able to get any benefit out of this until he levels up a little ways and is summoning a pet that has a base level of 76, his 75 swarmpet certainly won't be affected unless it has a base level that was yellow at the level he got it.

In my post, I didn't state I was putting the augment to use at 76, I was merely attempting to point out the incorrect statements regarding Void availability. However, you are indeed correct in your understanding of how the pet focus effect is applied -- the base level (unfocused) pet summoned must be at minimum level 76 for EM7 to do anything at all. For magicians, the 81 air pet is the first able to benefit from this focus, the first beastlord warder will be Spirit of Hoshkar (83) and first necromancer pet will be Bloodreaper's Shade (82).

I was not expecting a yellow con pet.
I was not expecting an even con pet.
I *was* expecting a dark blue pet.
But what I got was a light blue pet. I was understandably confused. I had just told my dark blue pet to go find some place else to be.. And now I had *this*? An inferior light blue little squish-thing?!

I zoned. No effect. Dismissed pet, summoned a new one. No change. I put the gear with the aug in my inventory, zoned, pulled it back out and put it back on--no effect. I was summoning light blue pets no matter what I tried.

So I went out to Zeb to blow more chronobines on a Major Dyadic Quartz (Enhanced Minion VI, one rank lower than this) and lo-and-behold.. He was dark blue. So now I was suspicious... I put the piece of gear that had the Enhanced Minion VII effect on in addition to the gear with my Enhanced Minion VI effect. Dismissed my dark blue pet and promptly summoned *another* light blue pet. Took off the VII gear? Dark blue pet.

So then I come on here, where there is no mention of this lovely little issue. I checked the raw spell data and compared them side-by-side. Discounting the md5 data, the only change between the two was for the pet power 80 -> 85.

As far as I can tell, there should be no reason why my pet was being downgraded. I, however, have played EQ long enough to know that Sony occasionally likes to bend people over. I'd imagine the reason they did this was because of all the level 75 folks getting gimped into Tower access and then getting vastly overpowered pets for their level.

I'm going to set forth this theory: you *must* be 85 to take effect of the power of this aug. I would also caution people not to go willy-nilly destroying their +pet power augments their zeal to get an uber pet.. Because, if my experience is any representation of reality, chances are excellent it's not going to work and you're going to be worse off *with* this than without it.

got one of these as a non raiding grouper just by asking the local uber guild nicely for a flag. as long as you are in the raid task you will get the flag that unlocks this aug from zeb and you don't even need to zone into tower so its possible to get this aug in Void A with zero progression done. My mage was level 75 and had no progression done when I got hers. I also have a necro and beastlord with this aug too. heres some info on pets with this aug:

(all pets have their appropriate rk.2 pet haste spell on)

81 air pet max hit (non crit) is 460. stuns up to level 90 and the stun does around 373 dmg when it lands.

82 water pet max hit is 452 and max non crit backstab is 1388. it also casts a 754 nuke at regular intervals

fire pet hits for 168 max and nukes for 3205 every 5 seconds.

I never bothered buying the earth pet.

rumbling servant rank 2 pet hits for 1146 (1689 crit).

83 bst pet hits for 251.
bstlord werewolf swarm pet (rk2) hits for 528 (813 crit)

85 necro pet hits for exactly 270, I can't remember the max BS but I'm pretty sure its under 1000. It also changes the pets appearence to an iksar skeleton.

these pets have quite a high attack rating with this focus and constantly hit their max hit. I don't parse so I won't state any dps figures.

if you have a rank 3 pet haste these numbers will be slightly higher

Confirmed.

I had a level 76 alt mage in the expedition (not in zone) and the Mindblight win unlocked this aug on Zeb. Mage has done zero void progression whatsoever (still default Void A). The above avilability indicating only Void F and Void G is incorrect.
