I got this tonight as rot loot. Watched a 2 group raid force drop him, 2 of these and the mask, I got the second one, since everyone in the raid had better and only one person chose to bring an alt over to get it.

Tonight he dropped 3 rings for us, also the legs. Last time we killed him he dropped 2 rings.

Just so you know... if you use 1000 mana to buff, even if that mana is all your mana, or only 20% of your total mana, you still have to meditate to regain that 1000 mana, which takes the same amount of time either way. Therefore, it does not decrease downtime, just lets you fight for longer before stopping.
you're absolutely right in theory, but in practice it's better than that. You eventually have to stop pulling because:
a) someone died
b) no more mobs
c) someone needs to med/buff
in each case there can be a point where you could become fom and still have to wait for whichever of the situations above to change. With a greater mana capacity, you can therefore be filling up further, and therefore last longer than you would otherwise.
After a point it does just become silly having lots of mana though, and mana regen becomes a Lot more useful i must admit.

Hehe kill a mob that takes 10-15 minutes to kill and say that a large mana pool is overkill. Even on a mob like this, if your clerics all have a low mana pool, you are gonna need a legion of necro's to keep those heals coming. Or two dozen clerics. Endgame especialy, large mana pool > almost everything for healers and nukers... I'm not elemental yet, but have already been in on fights where if our healers hadn't had 5k+ mana pools, it woulda been over. I have seen 5k healers go OOM in a single fight. Lot of people are spoiled by the low HP/High damage PoP bosses that are all about DPS. Don't forget, there are still some long **** fights out there, where a huge mana pool is imperative.
Just make two groups of 4 clerics and two necro's each. Have a caster mob oftanked and mindwreck away. Your healers won't go oom on a rotation then.

you have it reversed. for extremely long fights only mana regen is extremely important, for short fights mana pool makes the bigger difference.
IE in a 30 minute fight, there are 300 ticks, FT15 + VoQ + medding + bard + SD + pot9 = about 100 mana/tick, ie 30,000 mana over 30 minutes. do you really think 4k mana pool vs a 6k mana pool makes much of a difference in this situation?

We've killed AoW twice now. We've gotten three rings. Do the math =)
Killed AoW like 7 or 8 times in last few months, no ring... do the math.. you must have gotten lucky.

Rarity Rating takes into account the rarity of the mob. Since you can't drop this guy every day, all his loot is deemed rare or more.
Don't think it does. I believe the rarity rating is just how common the drop is from the mob in question. That's the way it's supposed to be at least, but it doesn't mean that Alla will match all your experiences. Looking at the posts it seems very random and luck plays in I suppose, but Alla still get their information from what people report so it's depending on the publics feedback.

I think the melee classes can use this but is better suited for any of the casters, that are nuking/buffing. Lets face it people more mana from them allows for more nukes, and shorted delays after routine buffing times.
30 AC on a ring makes this a tank-drool item. The stats, HP/mana and such are nice for whoever gets it, but that kind of AC on a finger item is only available from PoTime (1 VT drop, I think). I can get a better caster ring (counting foci/effects) from a number of sources all much easier to take out than AoW.

My guess is you play a shaman... Any class in the game benefits from having extra hp and mana, and it adds as much int as it does wis, making just as good for int casters. Give a ring that is equally beneficial to almost every class to shamans first? you gotta be kidding me

This isn't new, it's just new to Allakhazam. It dropped the very first time the AoW was killed by Legacy of Steel and Shock of Swords on the Nameless.
And the AoW was killed for the first time post-patch by both FoH and LoS/SoS over a month ago.

They didn't kill it. Heard it was at around 15 percent when they got adds. AOW difficulty is far, far away from Statue of Rallos Zek. The Statue is amazingly easy, King Tormax is easy, Avatar of War is HARD. lol it steamrolled over me that day when I logged on in Kael. Hit very, very fast for anywhere from 700-1100 per hit.

It's not an item, it's an option on Magelo.com to put your 'keys' to dungeons in, so they can be organized.

No, they do drop now. I have seen H2H weapons in Blackburrow while getting gnoll teeth for faction, and in Unrest while leveling my cleric.
Sure would like to go on this raid..But i know the guild or clan leaders would pick who deserve it...and i would say a Huge Congrats to who ever got it :-) damn nice item
