Well finally after camping for this item for 3 days on and off it finally drop for me off of Gorelaz so I can confirm it still drops. WOOT my lvl 2 Monk will be happy and even happier if I can get the very elusive Fists of Iron.
I want to add the 4 main namers are on a 1 hour spawn timer. GL on getting the loots.
This item will not proc before level 40, just to clear a few things up.
Every weapon that can proc has it's own proc rate - in other words, some weapons go off like mad, and some not so often. Club of the Ice Ocean is a good example of this - it's proc has gone off 7 times in one fight for me. DEX will up the rate of your procs a little, but it's mostly down to the weapon itself.
We did the castle with a 62 bst and 63 druid, easy pickens. They all have alot of hp's but dont do much damage to the pet tanking with druid DS. Fights did last more than 3min tho, I usually had to re-slow each one. Only about 1 pet heal per kill though. Hope that helps give an idea to some.
Anyone know if the proc level changed recently? Mine proc'd after reaching 37 last night. Only did it once in several fights, but it did it. And I'm not getting the "your will is not sufficient to command this item" line at all anymore (I did get it at lvl 36 a few times).
Hmmm. Odd. Could the Tunare server be different for some reason? I wouldn't have thought Tunare was special like FV or any of the PvP servers, but is that a possibility?
I'm level 40 and mine has just now started to proc, but I have gotten it to cast thrice in a row while attacking. I still get the message that I do not have the will to command this weapon however, which bothered me at first until I figured out it wasn't talking about my stamina, lol. Anyway, hope that gives everyone more of an idea of the abilities of this weapon.
From what I see, this does not poc til lvl 40. Bought for 8.5k on Povar, great upgrade to damage even without proc, but I am using SCHW also. When it is trying to proc, gives the message "your will is not sufficient to command this item", which leads me to believe you either need a high wis, (mine is 107, I think) or high level. (Which fits in with the proc at 40+ theory.) Either way, a nice weapon, if you can get it.
I have been using this item on my monk for a few levels and finally hit lvl 40 last night. I was very excited but the item only proc-ed about 2 times per battle (with dex 119). Today I hit bazaar and bought some cool stuff and got my dex up to 161 hoping that I would proc more often. Unfortunately I have seen no change in the proc rate. I still proc 1-2 times per battle (I got 3 in a battle only once and have gotten NO proc in several battles). Does this item use a different stat to govern its proc rate???
I know dex is commonly accepted as the stat to affect procing.. but i've seen through my experience that level often has more to do with it. Perhaps it is actually the higher attack, or some other stat, but from what i've noticed, my weapons tend to proc more often the further above the required procing level I get. Get a few more levels under your belt and see if the proc rate doesn't increase some.
After getting tired of hitting for a max 23 with a str of 175 unbuffed on my bst with is 7/18 fist of rock I bought this to move the FoW to secondary and this to primary though Im only 24 this is a sweet item for 4k pp.
Well, I would say one major contributor to the price going down is whoever posted a price of 1pp on this item. Outliers always drive a price up or down, imagine the average price if someone posted this at 100k.
But, yep, items go down in price over time if demand is constant and supply/competition increases.
I was bored last night so i got a 60 druid friend and a 60 sk friend and i played my 61 chanter, this dropped and i thought it was only worth a couple k, so we didnt roll for it....i go to baz and see it for 15k, woot ;)
A "proc" is the spell a piece of equipment casts. Sometimes at restricted levels and sometimes at restricted targets. If it is a weapon alot of times it is a timed spell, so if it is a spell to damage something with, it will cast automatically. However, if it is a helpfull spell (a.k.a a buff) then usally you can just right click it and it will cast on you...I know this is not how fungus covered scale tunics work, and I know this is not how a stave of shielding works...so there are others out there im sure that will cast only in combat and over time :). In conclusion, its a spell that armor, a weapon , or even sometimes a pet casts =p.
I have attended 5 or 6 hunts where we kept the fort clear for hours. Dispite the fact that Gorelaz is the most common of the named vamps, this is by far one of the rarer drops here, havent seen it yet. He is also one of the easier ones that spawns on the first floor. A good group could clear the first floor and pull from above, but once ya get up there you need a team, 56 sk pops on third floor.... plus generals replace the cents, and named are on a hour or less spawn time,yea..all 6 or 7 of them, plus u have the 3 wolves ( rogue, sk, wizzy? ) who will be up and about off and on,dangerous spot. We do it with group of 45-55, wizzies, necros, rogues armed with anti vamp stakes, a cleric of course, and some others,we most a team of necros and wizzies,i a shaman. either way good hunt, rare drop my monk wants it 8)
Reelay Deelay 51st shaman of xev Povar Tarew Alliance
4 nameds are common, Xenithen Sterbla path in the first room, Gorelaz Verilak path from first room to 3rd room, with a little step by 2nd, Renaldok something is on 2nd, and a named on 3rd floor but I dont really remember the name. Rares are the 58 SK on 3rd floor balcony, he is VERY rare because he is KoS to vampyres, they might kill him when he spawn making him hard to catch. And Oomgadoo (ambassador) is the rare on 2nd floor.
All nameds are on 1 hour spawn time. They hard but kind of easy if you skilled, with the good strategy. Xenithen Sterbla = mage, cast malisement, and some nukes from 300 to 800 DD, resist often tho. He will gate, so if you solo here like me, wait for him to go OOM, when he is oom he will stop casting until he got enough mana to cast malisement. Wait for him to hit the n or i of Xenithen and start chain nuking as soon as he cast, like that he will try to gate but will be oom while you blast him. 2nd named is Gorelaz, only a melee but very much HP, blast him when you want. Renaldok is a wizard, I got some nasty nukes for 1200, same strat as Xenithen, he will just try paralizing earth or bond of force when he is oom/lom. Last one is the weaker in HP, but a chanter, will charm, and he is able to charm more than one ! They are like Yelinak, when the aggro list is clear, they regen to full HP in 1 sec, so if you solo and he charm you, he will heal to full.
I have been soloing these guys to twink my little Beastlord, after 2 weeks and over 50 rounds of nameds, I finally got he katar, so talk about a rare drop...
Pretty good post, all in all. The spawn timer on nameds isn't set as we were seeing anywhere from 30-60 minutes on named spawns. My group consisted of a 60 druid, 61 pally, 54 cleric, 54 monk, 55 warrior, and 52 enchanter (me). It was total overkill but we were bored and the Druid wanted to try to get his lvl 60 spell from one of the nameds. Unfortunately it didn't drop but amazingly the ultra-rare level 56 Beastlord spell: Spirit of Flame did drop. No one knew how rare or expensive the spell was until I looked it up on my 2nd computer. Thankfully only 2 of us had a beastlord and I won the roll with a 43 out of 101. =) I contemplated selling it for 7k~ish but decided to keep it until my BST hits 5 (he's 32 now). Just about the only other thing worth mentioning that dropped was 1 of the shards for the VT key. Other than that it was all high priced vendor fodder and various pieces of Blood Weave and Coterie General armor.
I'm sure we'll head back soon enough and I'm hoping to get this weapon for my BST.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Oomgado did spawn 1 time in our time there and scared the hell out of me. We were camped in the back corner on the 2nd floor. I had my back to the stairs while slowing our mob and next thing I know I see my screen fill with red text and the cleric struggling to get off a heal. Thankfully the Pally was able to target me and get off his LoH in time. Oomgado didn't aggro the pally and stayed on me until I was able to get off quick stun followed by a mezz. He, along with all of the other mobs at the castle, were very easy to slow/mezz. He went down quick and only a ruby crown.
Nope... in my experience that would not be enough.
Think higher level enchanter...(57+ is best in order to really own the place) Think high level Pally (58+ with Healing wave of prexus... our healer melee'd the whole time cause of this... I think they healed twice.) High level pally was a fine tank... bring an SK for the SK drops etc...
My appologies first since this is not the proper place for this post but I need to say something. AC is quite important for a druid. Obviously not as high on the list as Wis but How often is the druid put into position of crowd control. You do not always have a chanter handy and the difference of damage taken with superior AC verses ordinary or low level of it are quite significant

Some people amaze me when they give apologies for doing soemthing they know they shouldnt be doing at the time and yet they turn around and do it anyway. Who cares about druid ac or weather or not a druid is gonna be taking care of CC. /sigh
