If you wanna farm Velium most efficiently, best two zones are Ry'gorr orc Miners in Crystal Caverns and if you are high enough level with the keys, The Wedding Ushers (Velium Golems) on the 5th floor of Tower of Frozen shadow. There's 8 at the floor entrance, and 5 more throught the hallways on this floor. CC is usually more crowded since it's pretty is to get to, so if you are higher level go ToFS, few hunt here and respawn time on Golems is about 10 min or so. You can do the whole floor (if mobs are green con) and by the time you finish them all, Ushers will begin to repop. Drop rate on Ushers is pretty common too.

About the last week of January 2004 verant changed the drop rate in the Frozen Tower in Iceclad. The drops now are no longer common and it's really not worth the time to farm them there anymore, which is a bummer as camping Storm Feather is a long camp and it was nice to occasionally grab some velium from the tower while waiting for SF to spawn. Oh well, if u find something to kill time at a long camp and a profitable one at that then Verant will make a point of ******** tit up for you.

The 7.0 bricks can also drop from the crystal and crystaline gargs, most often pulled while doing the upper kobald camps. I am also pretty certain the bricks can also drop off of the Icy watchurs, or the much tougher versions of the gargs.
As for dropping off of spiders, I never pay much attention to which spiders drop what. However, in couple hours of hunting at one of the various spider camps in Velks, you will run across all sorts of goodies: Spider legs (good for baking and brewing); the 7.0 bricks (pretty sure all spiders but don't quote me on it) the 18.0 blocks (snatched up quickly by high level smiths) the tiny bits (stackable and everyone wants, either for coldain faction or for velium potions); spider silks for tailoring; threads for coldian prayer shawl 5; as well as a variety of the class armour quest and VT gemmies.
