I got this today off of the prophet.
Kinda bummed cause the prophet drops some nice stuff.
It is the day after a big patch, so it may be screwed up for now.

As I posted in another thread, all named's of one race seem to share loot tables in SD. Additionally, it seems that a named of a certain race my pop in place of ANY non-named of that race, so bring your tracker...

while this is a nice intermediate item, I would work on the prayer shawls. The AC is a little lower but the higher you get the better they get.
At level 40 I already had the 4th shawl and am now working on the 5th.

Considering all the work to go through getting the various prayer shawls, and the bottlenecks, and the fact that not all the quests are in game yet...I think I'll keep my Kedge Prayer Shawl for a while yet, until I have lots of time and money to waste on trade skills. I know it's mostly wisdom, but I can get other stats from other items more easily than I can get my hands on the highest Coldain shawl yet available.
And yes...the third quest is a !@(*$. It sucks playing more than 1 caster character, but it's a huge lesson in the wasting of time. >_<

I agree that the prayer shawls are better than this, but you have to take into account the fact that you need a tracker for the third shawl, and the other shawls use high level tradeskills. my main is a 51 cleric and has the parts for the 4th and about half of the stuff for the 5th and 6th shawls, but the tradeskills are getting really expensive, and I still haven't finshed the end of the 3rd shawl (snow griffin soufflé), because I cannot find a tracker to help me. so until then, epaulets for a cleric are better (200pp on E'ci, more wis than the 7th shawl), braided ivy cords are better for druids (about 100pp on E'ci), nd I have no idea for shammies lol

This looks like it would go to druids and shammies only. But then it is only 5ac and 10 mana more than the prayer cloth of Tunare, which is obtainable at level 15 or lower.
I have seen this mob up once after a straight week of fighting in SD...not a common mob...it is Blue to me at 51st level so I would say that it isn't going to be as easy to get as some think. Add to that the named mobs in SD (and most places in SoL) do not spawn in a set spot. They can spawn anywhere that that type of mob spawns. If ya looking for something specific...have a tracker with you.
I wouldn't even bother trying to get this thing, just go to Hollowshade Moor and camp the sonic wolf cave. The sonic wolf packleader inside the cave is a placeholder for Ghowlik who drops the MUCH better elder wolf hide (AC: +10 Str: +4 Wis: +4 Int: +4 HP: +30) and is on a 16 minute respawn timer. Both the packleader and Ghowlik were green at 50, while at 52 the guy who drops this thing is dark blue.
Some opinons - this or braided ivy cords? I think that it'd just about even out (even at level 50, ten mana roughly equals 2 wisdom, am I right?), and this piece has a lot more AC.
Personally I'd go with Braided Ivy Cords. At lvl 50 although you'd likely have better..

I like this as an upgrade to the lizzy mantle. If i remember correctly (and correct me if im wrong) this has more AC than the mantle, same wis and 10 mana. Loss of 3int is pretty minor, and just about the same level to attain. I got the lizzy mantle at level 30 in a group at the Cazic TR and if this is really from level 35 then its going to be the new common shoulder item for many lower level priest types.
