BP

Another BP worth looking into is the Iron Breastplate of the Dememted, which drops in Droga.
AC: +33
Str: +10 Sta: +8 Cha: +5 Wis: +5 HP: +60 Mana: +30
Classes: Cleric Paladin Shadowknight Bard Warrior
Races: All
I have one on my 54 pally (upgraded from an Imbued Koada'Dal BP)
One selling point on the BP I have is the EASE of getting it. Drop rate is 1 in 3 versus the 1/1000 chance in UP
Two

Saw two of these drop within one hour for me. My 56 bard won one. 50 Paladin one the other.
Dropped quick

Started a UP group. started out killing Gantru Moktar's, then got a shammy and killed a named, it dropped the Bracelet of Quickness. Then killed one of those named Hooded ****'s and got some shawl that one of our Nero's used to upgrade. no named npc's were up and we started killing Moktar's, our 65 druid was looting, i was running around loving the exp when he said " omg! we got a Breastplate!" I rolled and won. very lucky me =D. i'd say we did pretty good for this zone.

went to UP a few nights ago and camped at Zin with one group, pulled moktors for a few hours, got boots, gloves, greaves, and a bracer. also pulled raldukan, got helm. then killed radir and got Mithril Edged Short Sword.

Last night we had one full group ranging from 51 to 57, and we chain pulled for about 3.5 hours. One group, even with slow made for some 5 minute battles, but we didn't have to deal with adds either.

Our 2nd pull was a Raldukan, and he dropped a Gantru charm. Then 15 kills later, and nothing (not even gems were dropping, folks) we finally had a pair of the Moktor boots drop. 3 people in our group rolled for them and the first two rolls were under 10! I then rolled a 91 and had about the only luck of the night.

For the difficulty of the mobs, I think they should at least drop better plat or more gems. The drop rate seems pretty weak for danger here.
doesnt drop for me
# Jan 02 2003 at 3:00 AM Rating: Decent
I have squatted at zin and pulled these things for days. Not one piece of stinking armor has dropped, I must have spent, oh 10 hours or so easy, maybe 20.

Went to Kael, ding got a drop in `15 mins. Moral of the story? Keep footloose and dont overcamp, like Phinny it will only drop what you need when you arent there to get it, I swear.

Was there the other night...Legs, Guants, arms, and boots dropped all with in 4 hours...just depends on the night I guess.

Been hunting here a while - used to have around 3 drops every 4 hours.

Over the last couple days (since PoP went live) Verant nerfed the S#!T out of the drop rates.

Yesterday 10 and a half hours - one drop. Today 5 hours - no drops.

# Nov 17 2002 at 9:22 PM Rating: Good
Might have just been your bad luck. Just got my 39th cleric the greaves, boots and vambraces. Total hunting time of 3hours. However all 3 dropped in a 30min span. I'm so glad our Tank had better in all slots.
RE: Drop Rate
# Dec 11 2002 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
Drop rate still seems fairly low. Two groups going for several hours last night saw zero armor pieces drop.
Not Bad

My 57 SK just won this in a pick up group, I must admit it's a step up from the Sentiant he's been wearing since level 40. I'm a member of a smaller guild and sometimes drops like this can make your day when some of the more impressive BP's seem out of reach.

just my 2 cents
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 18 2002 at 8:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) kinda silly, even thurg quest bp is easier to get, and it far better. Just an insult to warriors giving wis casters a BP close to PoH war BP. OOh lemme make a cleric and get a better breastplate than warrior planar just by walking to UP, and dont tell me clerics dont wind up in pickup group there.
RE: warr no want
# Aug 11 2002 at 11:35 PM Rating: Good
Since when is the Thurg BP easy to get? I have yet to see one drop, and I've got almost the full set now (only missing the Boots and BP). I didn't buy any of them, either, just spent alot of time in KD. UP is not an easy zone, and no, this BP is not the greatest out there, but it's better than the PSC I've been using for 5 levels now because I can't get a BP to drop anywhere. I'll take what I can get.

I guess some of you are under the assumption that everyone only plays in zones that have a specific drop that they want. We went to UP just because it was somewhat of a challange and was empty. Did the same in SG. I could spend the rest of my time in KD trying for my Champions BP, but what the hell fun is that?
RE: warr no want
# Oct 17 2002 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent
If only it had 40ac or gave more hps. I'd take it over my Indicolite bp. I agree that the champions bp corroded piece that drops in kael is rare. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, only two people in our guild have a bp from kael, a ranger and a druid. And we raid kael alot. In fact, I spent like two straight weeks in kael raiding with friends, our guild usually raids it once a week. I outfitted myself, just got the helmet on tuesday, now all I need is the bp. I to have not MQ'ued for any pieces. Don't forget that theres also a bp in pog for warriors that allmost matches the stats to champs. A warrior would want this bp but it would depend on what he's currently wearing. And usually I spend a couple of hourse when I'm in kael to. Sigh, we even do the plate cycle in kael, get a couple of drops, but still no bp.

RE: ...
# Jun 18 2002 at 6:48 AM Rating: Decent
I thought the tradeoff for an increased starting ac was the fact that they couldn't wear plate later on.
RE: ...
# Oct 12 2002 at 12:57 PM Rating: Default
That's BS because they ***** us on xp penalty twice for ac bonus AND regen. Let us not forget VI can't seem to make up their mind about Iksars not wearing plate (Should I remind you of Velious quested?)
RE: ...
# Jan 02 2003 at 9:29 AM Rating: Decent
Ok but the point is, you have an ac bonus and regen. I suggest either stop complaining about these things that other races drool over, or maybe stop playing an Iksar.
Dropped for us tonite

Got this to drop off a Moktor tonite when our guild was pullin to zoneline. It's a great BP and will last me til I get my TOV BP quest finished. I wanna thank all my guildies for helpin me aquire this piece and the gauntlets I got the same night. This zone rocks for great loot and challenging fights.
Reason why bards can now wear both chain AND plate:

Some bards had gotten full suits of the chain stuff (Why? I don't know, I don't like its stats at all).

Rather than perform exchanges for Moktor armor, it was changed to just allow them to keep their current dark assassin/dark master stuff.

Because this is going to a Pallie/War or Cle before a bard so you might as well just get the chain

another acceptable reason why the bards have full suits of the chain is because of the beneficial boost of charisma :)

Always thought it was strange that the Umbral chain was Bard/Rogue and the plate Ranger and not Cleric/Bard.

Although I'm not happy about the changes (I think it was nice to have a shot a great gear that did not require massive raids ect.) I can't follow their logic (if they ever had any) since now both the chain and the plate are Bard usuable. Also I can't see why they did not put a little more Wisdom on the item. The zone's pretty empty most to the time due to the low low drop rates, this won't make us rush there.

Hello there

i was wondering if anyone has seen or know the stats of the ranger wearable chain version on the Moktor armor? anyway just looking to know the stats on it, i wouldn't mind the str/sta but that seems to be more of a warrior type stat modifier. I would hope that the ranger piece has some dex, agi, or wis instead of the sta. just my thoughts on it.

Very nice Breastplate IMHO
# Dec 31 2001 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
This is a great BP in my opinion. The 36 ac is nice and 15 str and 15 sta never hurt anyone. Yah I'll admit that there are alot of better Breastplates out there =/, but there is no way that this breastplate is bad in any aspect. No negative stats or resists, just plus stats =)
HUH?

Why would you twink with these anyway? This is not a twink kind of armor, atleast not on Rallos.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 28 2001 at 5:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'll still keep my Indicolite BP for now, though. Just my 2cp.

People are twinking these the same way that you twink anything that's no drop, they bring the twink to the zone and log them in to loot stuff that would otherwise rot.

From what I understand, if you are less than the "recommended level of 50" you can equip the item but it will not give you all of the listed AC. You get the stats and part of the AC.

Kinda...
# Dec 27 2001 at 9:26 PM Rating: Default
...weak compared to some of the other pieces. In fact, it's only a real upgrade to Thorny Vine (a bit better than Umbral and Valorium). I'd comment more, but I haven't been to that zone really, so I don't know if the risk is worth the reward.
RE: Kinda...
# Dec 27 2001 at 10:25 PM Rating: Default
I would wear this day to day over a tolans bp (don't have one) but not over anything that is greater than or equal to a heavy dragon bp and the quest armor. The sta is alot of hp for me, heh, and all Rangers know we need more of that. Prolly hard as hell to get though 8)
RE: Kinda...
# Dec 28 2001 at 11:44 AM Rating: Default
I wasn't entirely sure of the stats on Tolan's, so I figured it'd be safer for me to not comment. In fact, Tolan's didn't even come to mind. 8) Pretty sure this is weaker/same as other Kunark armor though.

There's one thing most of you damn posters don't realize (this isn't directed at Limbas at all). Just because an item is better than what you have doesn't make it great, especially if it's fugging no drop. There's that little thing called RISK VS. REWARD. For example, you pretty much have to be 57+ to get most things from NToV. If something drops, and one of those people call it "crap," it's probably CRAP because a.) everyone has better and b.) it's probably a pain in the *** to get such a weak item.

So instead of scoring someone as "awful" next time they say an item is a piece of ****, and it probably is, realize that your level thirty *** will never be able to obtain it, so it's just a dream to you.
RE: Kinda...
# Dec 28 2001 at 8:55 PM Rating: Decent
Well, the attitude displayed in that post pretty much makes me decide to ignore any other opinions you decide to give on items.

Relax, have fun, and don't get so riled when someone gets miffed enough with you to lower the score of your post. Cripes.

Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.

Sorry, but I'm tired of seeing /drool posts over things that most people (who can actually get the item) would let rot on the frickin' corpse.
