Damage bonus is only +51 according to the one I just looted

Edit: My 66 Ranger shows the +51 dmg bonus; a friends 59 Pally shows +37 dmg bonus; 45 Shaman has no dmg bonus showing; 57 Warr shows +32.
Anybody know the level for the +84 listed or does it even get higher?

Edited, Dec 28th 2009 11:06pm by Sheedy

OK had a level 85 Pally tell me it shows +86 to them. Seems to grow exponentially.

I know a rogue that regularly backstabs for a high of 110 at level 28 using a piercer with 11 damage. Using these calculations, the same rogue could be backstabbing for 250 points.. at level 28! Doing 2,500 points of damage per minute (just in backstabs) under level 30 could be a bit unbalancing. Not to mention a little thing called AGGRO. If I'm a level 35 mob and something just hit me for 250 points, I'm going after that thing exclusively.

Fortunately, I haven't seen any 2HP that a rogue can use.

if a rogue could equip the @H piercing weapons, they COULD bs with bs a piercing weapon has to be in your primary weapon slot, those the only qualifactions the game sets for the person to be able to BS, besides being behind the mob

Group spells, such as group c2 can be cast on any level as long as they are in your group and dont have them targetted.

Do your research before you make an *** of yourself

I love this thing!

I got this today...boy let me tell you. No way should a pally my level (37) ever be able to solo this MOB. Buuuut...I did. I had Clarity II on, donated by a friendly player a few minutes before. I see this huge bug (conned drk blue) and decided to smack it. Well with my AC of 788 she still hit me for 150-160 as a high. I took her down 25% before running. I rooted her, healed full, rooted again and meditated. I repeated this around 10-15 times before I finally had to use my LH. Now she was down to around 15% health left so I just wailed on her with my Blade of Xalgoz. She died and dropped this weapon.

At *cough* 11 skill in piercing it was hitting green mobs for 61 DMG (11 dmg bonus). At 91 Skill, I am landing blows for 92 (with my self cast buffs). I can't wait to see what it's going to do at 200 skill!

Another added perk on this wepaon is that it is really an eye catcher. Very cool graphic on it. I still get L60 players asking me WTF it is and lower leveled noobs keep asking me if it is a new pally deity/epic weapon.

Like I said, I love this thing and this may make my BABS and Xalgoz gain some dust for a change.

I just bought 2 of these yesterday,...gave one to my berserker and he was hitting consistently for 33 to 50 damagae with Piercing(0)!!!! (I bought the second after I put the first in shared bank slot)And to think most players in the Bazaar were saying this is junk and calling me a newbie! What morons. For 21pp it was a great deal and it looks awesome! There may be better weapons, but who cares? Most weapons look plain when equipped and many of the "better" weapons miss a lot, even with higher skills. Stats are supposed to determine how often a weapon hits but I've learned that isn't the case most of the time. I've tried Centi Warspear and it stinks...rarely hit 1 hit every 5 or 6 swings.....this hit every 2 or 3 swings at LEAST! I'll look for these on other servers I play on. Just wish Rogues could use them....

Poor Man's MoTQ
# Dec 27 2001 at 4:36 AM Rating: Default
Add 5 Str and Wis to this thing and you get a MoTQ, 'cept this one is for all our meleer's(except monks). Pally's should skip this one if they want a piercer (but not many want a piercing weapon..). A MoTQ on Inny costs around 400, and if your 35, you shouldn't have too much trouble ponying up the money for it.

So Kvaknek's is the same weight, a better ratio AND has 5 ac which is pretty much far better than 5 wis and the other stuff for a paladin. I'd use this over an MOTQ any day. Besides that this has more resale value since its a wider amount of classes. Nice for an sk without a better pierce also.

Centi Warspear is 20/30 2HP 5 str/ 5 sta and seems very common. Have to let them rot in Achiva fairly often cause they're lore. How do they rate on price? Aren't they about 800pp? (I keep dropping them on alts when I get a new one, hate to let them rot if I can help it.)
Seems this would be a lot better than a MotQ to me, but I don't have a paladin so I'm not sure.

As far as delay is concerned, the centi warspear rocks with haste item and enchanter haste. I have a Silvery Belt of Contention from Kael drop. I have had Swift like The Wind or Visions of Grandeur on me using this and boy does my STA bar drop fast. Good thing my STA is over 105 so it doesnt matter.

do ranger's even get 2hp skill?
# Dec 27 2001 at 12:04 AM Rating: Decent
I believe the 2HP skill just goes off of the 1HP skill. You'd need a real crackhead of a ranger to use this over DW though.
# Dec 27 2001 at 4:01 PM Rating: Decent
Call me crack-head then, because in my opinion a ranger without a good two-handed weapon is the crackhead. It's all about aggro management, you see. As this uses a skill a ranger should already be training (*hugs his Dragon Horn Ykesha*) it doesn't even require you to spend hours keeping your 2-handed slash skill up. A decent ratio (considering when you can get it) and five points of AC (something a ranger can never have too much of) make this an excellent weapon to keep in your bag for when you need it. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for one over in EC to upgrade from my Edge of Cablis.

Three words:

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 27 2001 at 8:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) A ranger without DW is just a paladin with no healing or a shadow knight with no feign death. As long as they don't hit that "Taunt" button and land a Jolt now and then, they shouldn't really have any problems with aggro. If they do, they must have one sucky warrior tanking.
# Dec 28 2001 at 11:38 AM Rating: Excellent
Like Tomlin said, rangers have aggro problems long before 50, and even *after* 50 there are times when you can't land a Jolt, even if you ask nicely. The difference between a truly good ranger and one who's just another zergling in the rush is knowing ALL the tricks. It has nothing to do with having a crappy warrior taunting - a ranger can outtaunt damned near anything when he wishes. Knowing when to do so is key.

If nothing else, at least I know I'll be able to do a little damage while waiting for Swarmcaller to proc. :D

Rangers seem to have agro problems long before level 50, so Jolt isn't gonna help a lot of people. Sometimes, I swear that monsters will attack a ranger JUST because they're a ranger, and for no other reason. =)
# Aug 25 2003 at 2:04 AM Rating: Decent
I've noticed that it's more wood elves than rangers having problems. Whenever I'm on my wood elf bard, I get the aggro first. The MOb ALWAYS runs to me first, no matter how far away I am in relation to my other group members.

Also, in a Kurn's group, one shot from a bow or one hit with a sword, no matter how much the rest of us had done, sent the skellies right over to the wood elf ranger we had.

Druids seem to have the same problems.

Oh, and maybe this was meant to be balancing for a wood elf warrior's less than preferable melee stats... :D

hehe ever tried to snare a giant in kael? they have some nice magic resistance, so you'd have to recast a few times, and jolt won't land as much as well. but snare will give you a very nice aggro boost.P
a ranger without a good 2 H skill is a dead ranger imho

RE: Tantor's Tusk
# Dec 26 2001 at 3:05 PM Rating: Good
question, what's your point? Tantor's Tusk comes from a lvl 60 named mammoth in Western Wastes and takes at least one good group of 57+ to get one. This takes one group of 32+ or one person 45+ So, stop making yourself look stupid by pointing out things that aren't worth people's times. All it got was you a rant, and now people know who can take this down cause I stated something useful in the rant /grin.
