And why can you only carry one at a time and not multiple ones? Is it due to not wanting a money windfall on these? Or is there a quest that someone wants these on? I have found two so far off the greaters, and can only carry one. Due to Lore Item.
Same here. I'd just been killing the dock people with my level 53 Rogue pet and stopped by the elemental island to see whether any of the named mobs ever spawned. The Greater Fire Elemental was actually pretty tough: even after Cancel Magic to remove the damage shield it took down about half of my pet's hit points (that's about 700-800 damage) before it died.
Got these today off of a greater EARTH elemental. Which somehow oddly spawned a Berserk Fire Elemental. Oh well, got the Fetish of the Agile and these sleeves in about 30 minutes worth of killing.
Seems to me the higher lvl mobs with drops are closer to the water. Just my 2 cp.
Sure, and they'd be good for a midlevel ranger as well. And a midlevel druid, and a midlevel couple other classes.
Str: +3 Wis: +3 Int: +3 HP: +10 Mana: +10 is a pretty nice item. I can see arguing that the fairly puny 5ac makes this a better item for a int or wis caster, but in general it's a nice item.
Although I admit that by the time I was hunting TS for XP, I sold most of the items I got there to lowere level chars (or twinked my own). Except the Blackened Mace, which was a nice incremental upgrade to etched velium mace. And I never got this one.
Hmm. Maybe I should stop by TS on my way home tonight =)
These sleeves were given to me from a player out of the blue! Lthalon, you are a true gentleman and a credit to your class. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. May the God's of Norrath smile upon you my good man.
Wtf, just posted to ask where these drop and it got skipped. Oh well, anyways, anyone now where these really drop? I know they don't drop in twilight sea because there are no greater elementals there. So does anyone know where these really drop and what lvl these guys are? I would like to get my hand on a pair =)~ Plz let me know.

Greater elementals are an uncommon spawn in Twilight. Kill regular elementals to get them to pop. Not bad sleeves, an upgrade to ulthork. Mob was green at 53, 2 starfires got him to a sliver of health so I'd say 1300hp or so.
1 bad thing, they have NO graphic. Your naked arms will show through giving that weird tank-top look.

For days I had desperately looked for affordable wisdom sleeves a Dwarven Cleric can wear when these were auctioned for 350 pp in the EC tunnel. Needless to say I now own a pair. The graphic is, well, there is none on my cleric, which I think is kind of cool. Heh.
You are a cleric, not an enchanter. The AC on these sleeves is too low. I recommend nathsar vambs, or the imbued dwarven plate instead. Otherwise, I'd wear the sol ro golden quest sleeves, which have high ac, and no wis, and concentrate on getting more wis in other slots.
Why is it assumed that a cleric MUST go for AC. Just because he can wear plate doesn't mean he must. There are very few easily attainable arm items with wisdom on them so for clerics in the high 30's to low 40's these are great. And with the new soft cap on stats it is beneficial to have a wisdom over 200. So, get it in any slot you can I say. More wis, means more mana, means more heals, means less deaths. Very simple math.
You want a level 40 cleric to run around in 5ac sleeves? I have seen some odd posts on this site, but this about takes it. So you're basically saying that when your grinding in the dreadlands, and have multiple mobs, mez parked by your chanter, and a drolvarg rager breaks mez, just as you finish complete healing your tank, you'd want 5 ac sleeves. Maybe a blackened iron medallion, and a savant cap, while you're at it. My buffed ac at 40 is about 720, and I still get double hit for 96 by the drolvarg ragers. They can easily take off half my hitpoints before the tank regains aggro. You need ac, because you WILL get hit, and if you die, the party will probably die too. I've done 4 levels in DL, and have not died once, nor lost a party member (with the exception of a druid who thought it would be a good idea to chain nuke on a multiple pull).
These sleeves are fine for a druid, or an INT caster, but are awful for a cleric. If they had 10 wis, I could see sacrificing the ac, but not for 3. Especially when there are so many good arms with ac. I have giant scalemail sleeves, which are much better than these, and I picked them up for 100pp.
"My buffed AC iz 720...still get hit fer 96" Eggzakly. Ferget AC az a Cleric - all youz gotta do iz manage dem HP, an rely on de Tanks to taunt 'em off you. Go fer de WIS an mana items, so dat you nevva run outta mana, an youz be de best Clerik fer miles aroun. Go collectin FS Plate an nonsunce like dat, an youz gonna be de last one standin in yer grupe... fer a short wyle... ;)
WIS is not gonna save you when you're getting beat down by multiple mob aggro because you're healing the tank. The tank can try everything in his power to win aggro back, but it's never instant aggro when the tank clicks Taunt, especially if you're healing while mobs around you are mezzed. So if you're going for WIS vs. AC....just like a few before have mentioned, you're dead, then the group is dead. Verant gives the cleric the ability to wear plate because they NEED it.
I got off a greater fire elemental, green at 50, cannot be snared or rooted, hits for around 75 max with a 30 or 110 DD proc on it. Pretty tough for a green mob.
